(Aviva's view)

That night after the movie as I was helping father with the dishes I turned to see Avian standing in the kitchen doorway.

"Oh, hey Avian." I said, and he smiled softly at me.

"Hey, I wondered if we could talk." he said, and I nodded as I finshed washing the dishes.

"Of course we can, is something wrong?" I asked, and he shook his head.

"No no, I just wanted to ask you something." he said, and I nodded.

"Alright, what is it?" I inquired, looking at him worriedly.

"Are you hurt?" I asked, as I reached out with my hand and took his.

"I've just got a little cut on my cheek, but other than that I'm fine." he said, as he squeezed my hand.

"I needed to ask you about the mind link thingy." I said, and he smiled at me softly.

"Shoot." he said, without letting go of my hand.

"Is the mind link a vampire thing?" I asked, and he nodded. "Yes." he said, before hugging me.

"Thank you for talking with me and showing my family such kindness." he said, and I hugged back.

"It's no trouble, you are far away from harm now." I said, as we released the hug and clasped hands.

"It's getting late, and I'm going to bed now. Goodnight." I said, as I let go of his hands.

"Goodnight, Aviva." he said, as he gave me another quick smile. I quickly hurried upstairs to my room, nearly tripping over the cat in the process.

"Damn it, Kiyori!" I growled, as I scooped her up with a laugh. "Come on, it's bedtime." I said, as I walked with her to my room and got into bed. 

I awoke a few moments later with a  loud scream of fright "AAAAAAAAA!" I heard foosteps nearing my room, and the door swung open to reveal my father and uncle.

 "What's the matter dear?" father asked, as he sat down next to me on the bed and pulled me into his arms.

 "I-I think I s-saw someone outside my w-window." I stammered, as I pointed out the window with a shaking hand.

 Uncle Kaien went to the window and looked out.

 "Toga, there's a trail of large footprints that lead into town." he said, before coming back from the window and kissing my forehead.

 "Don't worry darling, we'll figure out what's going on." he said, and I nodded.

 "Okay, if it's the same people my friends and I fought be careful."  I said, and my father smiled. 

"Sweetie, careful is our middle name." he said, as he pecked my cheek before grabbing his gun.

 "Just be prepared dad." I said, as I hugged him tightly.

 "We will, don't you worry." father said, as he ruffled my hair.
