"It's him" Santiago said. "We're all screwed. Has he... no. It's okay, he hasn't. Phew... we're less screwed than we were a couple of seconds ago."
"What?" Andres said louder. "Who is it?"
"It's..." Santiago started.
"Hola mes amigos" Antonio shouted, bursting into the room. "It's a long time since we all been together like this. I missed you guys."
"We're screwed" Carlos whispered
Story
Andres nodded solemnly, looking down at the ground and muttering something inaudible. Antonio glanced round at the shocked faces and grinned broader.
"Don't be like that guys. You missed me. Come on, you missed me"
"Hardly" Camila said as Diego leapt to his feet, hugging the elder nation.
"Yep" Diego grinned. "Where'd you vanish to?"
Juan groaned and yanked his hat down over his eyes.
"Around" Antonio shrugged. "Lovino was... demanding lets say, and I had a civil war to clean up, a world war of sorts to avoid. Everything happened at once I suppose."
"How awful for you" Santiago grumbled. From under his hat, Juan pursed his lips to hide a snicker.
Antonio pulled a face. "That's not nice mi amigo."
"Whatever" Santiago hauled himself up by the arm of his chair and wandered towards the door. "I'm not staying for this crap any longer."
"Funny thing" Antonio rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I've told all your bosses you'll be 'out of action' for a week."
Carlos face palmed and groaned loudly. Slowly, Santiago turned round. "So... you're saying I'm stuck with you... with... him" he gestured towards Diego who scowled.
"Hey, don't think I feel any better about this whole ordeal" Diego glared at him.
"It's worse for me" Carlos grumbled. "I'm stuck with you, you and you" he snapped his fingers at Juan, Antonio and Andres before pulling his knees up to his chest and snarling.
"We're all stuck with each other" Andres hissed.
"So we'll just have to get along" Mariana snapped, standing up and eyeing them all carefully before smiling and turning to Antonio. "I'm assuming there's rooms upstairs?"
Antonio blinked, almost startled by the question for a second before nodding. "Si. They're all the same."
"Fine" Carlos huffed, yanking himself up and elbowing Santiago out of the way as he left the room.
"He's always like that" Diego narrated.
"We know" Andres said, raising an eyebrow. "I think that's why Juan isolated himself from us for ages."
Juan shrugged and stood up, wandering out of the room, closely followed by Santiago.
"This is all so awkward" Santiago groaned as Juan entered the kitchen to put the mug still in his hand by the side of the sink. "Damn it, if I'd have know it'd be all of us for a week, I wouldn't have come."
"That's the reason we weren't let on it was all of us" Juan said blankly. "If we'd have known, this whole 'reunion' thing Antonio planned wouldn't have worked in the slightest."
"At least Jose isn't here" Santiago grinned. "He'd really have you smashing your head into the wall."
"Thank God" Juan muttered. "But Carlos is still here. That could drive me insane."
"And Diego" Santiago sighed. "Honestly, that guy is too happy."
"You should see you when you're drunk" Juan said blankly.
Santiago yanked his hat down so it covered his entire face and laughed when Juan gave a muffled yelp and pulled it back up.
"Stop it" he snapped. "Seriously, stop it."
"You're so adorable when you're angry" Santiago pursed his lips and went to hug the smaller nation.
"No" Juan ducked and walked out of the kitchen. By then, everyone had left the living room and was probably upstairs. Antonio was sat leafing through a magazine on the table and looked up when Juan reached the doorway, Santiago in tow.
"Hola Juan, Santiago" Antonio beamed. "How've you guys been?"
"Good" Juan nodded, stepping a little further into the room.
"Alright" Santiago smiled normally, which wasn't something he normally did. "Just wondering, why do we have to all get together like this?"
Antonio blinked. "We've not had a reunion for decades."
"For a reason" Juan muttered.
"I know that a number of you hate each other" Antonio sighed. "That's why it was all kind of secretive. We wouldn't have been able to otherwise."
"I could've gone another decade without seeing some people" Juan glared at the floor.
Antonio shrugged. "We all have people we hate. We just have to get past that sometimes."
"No one hates anyone here" Diego shouted, bursting into the room and throwing his arms round Juan and Santiago's shoulders. "We're all friends." He dragged one arm in a little, pressing it firmly against Santiago's throat, almost choking him.
"Yeah, friends" Juan lifted Diego's arms and wandered off.
"Is he always like that now?" Antonio frowned. "Last I checked he wasn't."
Santiago shrugged.
"Yeah, he's all grumpy now" Diego leant against the doorframe. "I reckon it was Ancash."
Santiago glared at him. "Does it matter?"
Antonio shrugged. "I guess not."
