Kiawe's POV

"Ash wake up!" I said as I pulled the blankets off his bed, making him fall on the floor. "Kiawe what?!" Ash hissed, yawning "It's 9:30 get up! Also Elizabeth and Astral are fighting." Ash groaned "Seriously? Again?" He asked

"What do you mean again?" I asked, confused "Let's just say Astral and Elizabeth want eachother to burn in Hell." Ash replied, and as if he need to prove his point

"YOU RELY ON PSYCHIC TYPES TO MUCH! YOU WIZARD!

"YOU'VE SPENT ALL YOUR LIFE IN A TUNNEL!"

"THATS NOT TRUE AND YOU KNOW IT PRISSY BITCH!"

"WELL AT LEAST IM NOT DIRT LOVING MILTANK"

"WHY YOU! *Crashing sound*"

"Betcha that was the table." Ash cut in, pulling me back to Earth *Crashing sound* "And the dishwasher." *Another crashing sound "And the Refrigerator." Ash had had enough and opened the door. He was right, there is a smashed table on the ground, a broken dishwasher, and somehow half of a refrigerator. The other half is Arceus knows where.

"DAMN YOU! YOU GROUND LICKING BIDOF!"

"DAMN YOU! YOU PSYCHIC SHEBEAST!"

"ENOUGH!" Ash shouted, gaining their attention "GOOD ARCEUS WILL YOU TWO JUST GET ALONG?! LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" The two girls looked around, seeing the mess they made
"It was her fault." Elizabeth blurted out, pointing to Astral, who was extremely, and I mean extremely ticked off. She was so mad you could see her hair float up. (she is a psychic and that usually happens when psychics get very angry...I think.) "If you guys don't stop breaking every damn thing in sight there will be consequences." Ash explained, his tone overflowing with annoyance "Now clean this mess up." Then his eye turned a light shade of blue "Now." Both the girls and I shivered "Ash you don't need to threaten them." I said "Oh I'm not. I would never hurt them." Ash replied, reassuring me. "I only do this for show, but I do move them with aura sometimes."
'Well isn't that just perfect.' I thought 'I'm living with a god.'

2 hours later Third Person POV

"Alright the Battle between Kiawe and Jack shall be resumed!" The ref announced "Hey Kiawe sorry for running the other day I was just really scared." Jack stated "Your fine." Kiawe said "Now let us continue our battle! Marowak, Let's go!"

"Now Where was I? Ah yes, my trump card! Now comon out Magneton!" As soon as Jack finished that sentence Kiawe looked at him with a 'Are you serious?' look "What?" Jack asked, Confused. Kiawe sighed heavily "Your Magneton is a steel and electric type, right?" Jack nodded "And my Marowak is a Fire and a ghost type that can learn ground-type moves." Jack then realized that fire is super effective against steel types and ground type moves are super effective against electric types and mentally facepalmed. "Now Marowak use Bonemerang!" Kiawe commanded, soon Marowak ran up to Magneton in circles and started to hit him with his bone, severely damaging him. "Quick Magneton use Electric Terrain followed up with multiple Zap Cannons!" Jack countered, disadvantage or not he wasn't going down without a fight. Soon electric waves released from Magneton turned the field yellow, turning it into an electric terrain, then started firing at Marowak. "Quick Marowak, Dodge then use Fire Punch!" Marowak started to dodge the multiple zap cannons, then when it got close enough, fire formed in its palm and it curled its hand into a fist, and successfully hit Magneton, knocking him back.
"Marowak let's finish this! Bone Rush!"

"Not so fast! Magneton use Magnet Rise!"

"Magnet Rise?!" Kiawe said, shocked, when Marowak hit Magneton with his bone it didn't do a thing. "Magnet Rise is a move that allows an electric type Pokémon to be immune to ground type moves for a good while!" Jack explained "Your not beating me that easily." Kiawe smirked
"I wouldn't have it any other way! Marowak, Sandstorm!" Soon the entire field became shrouded in a thick sandstorm. "Now Marowak get behind Magneton and use stone edge." Kiawe whispered to Marowak, who was right in front of him. As soon as Kiawe finished, Marowak ran as quietly as possible to the other side of the field, soon he was right behind Mageton. Jack was looking into the sandstorm, trying to find Marowak, when all of a sudden blue stones came up from the ground and sent Magneton flying into the air. Jack gasped and looked at Kiawe, who was smirking "Now Marowak finish this with fire punch!" Before Jack could counter, Marowak jumped up and slammed Magneton with a fire punch mid air and they vanished back into the sandstorm. When the sandstorm subsided, Magneton was laying on the ground, swirls in his eyes. On top of Magneton was Marowak, chest puffed out with pride.

"Magneton is unable to battle! Marowak is the winner!" The ref announced "The match goes to Kiawe!" The crowd erupted with cheer, as Kiawe went to Jack "You did your best and that's all I could ask for. Now take a long rest." Jack said as he recalled his Pokémon, then looked up at Kiawe "That was some battle." He said as he extended his hand "When I battle you again I'll put up a better fight."

"I look forward to it." Kiawe responded as he took his hand and shook it. After a few seconds of talking Kiawe walked out of the stadium and got to his seat. For another battle was to come.

"Could the next trainers please come to the battlefield?" The ref announced. Ash evilly grinned. It was time to crush his wannabe-good for nothing mother. As the trainers walked to the field Delia was shocked that she was facing her son but her shock was soon replaced with rage

"This will be battle between Champion Ash and Pokemon Trainer Delia!" The ref announced "Each side will use 3 Pokémon! No substitutions! When either side has no more Pokémon remaining, the battle will be over!"

"Please send out your Pokémon!"

"Ash I am your mother! You will forfeit this instant and come with me!" Delia shouted "Mr Mime come on out!"

"You lost that right when you betrayed me all those years ago you filthy bitch!" Ash roared in rage
"I have something special for you! Greninja I choose you!" Greninja then appeared on the field and saw his opponent. He grinned as In saying 'I'm going to enjoy this.'

"Trainers ready?" Both Ash and Delia nodded "Alright battle begin!"

"Greninja! Stronger! Together!" Ash shouted and Greninja was soon surrounded in a tornado of water/waterspout. When the transformation was over Greninja had a big Water shuriken on its back, a red star on its face, and black fur on the sides of its head with red lightning bolts. (This is the best description I can do ok.) Ash Greninja has appeared. "Alright Greninja let's take Mime out with one move!" Ash shouted "Water shuriken!" Then Greninja pulled a water shuriken on its back and threw it at Mime.

"Dodge it!" Delia countered, panicking, but before Mime could do anything the water shuriken made contact and threw Mime on the wall. When he fell off the wall he had swirls in his eyes.

"Mr Mime is unable to battle. This round goes to Greninja! Trainer Delia please send out your next Pokémon!"

"Damnit!" Delia shouted "Cinccino come on out! Soon the Scarf Pokémon appeared on the field, ready for battle.

" *yawn* Greninja Water shuriken." Ash said, in a effortless tone as history repeated itself. Now Cinccino was on the ground, fainted

"Cinccino is unable to battle! This round goes to Greninja! Trainer Delia please send out your final Pokémon!" The ref announced. To say Delia was pissed was an understatement. She was livid that she was being made a fool out of.

"Ugh! Altaria your my last hope!" Delia shouted desperately as the Humming Pokémon appeared on the field. "Altaria use Drago Meteor!" She commanded. Soon meteors we're forming in the skies and they started to descend, targeting Greninja. "Double team, then use smokescreen!" Ash shouted. Soon multiple Greninja's appeared on the field and they all got engulfed in a black smoke
"Now use Aerial Ace!" Ash demanded, soon multiple Greninja's came leaping out of the smoke aiming for Altaria. While some Greninja's got hit by the Draco meteor, two of the Greninja's hit Altaria, sending it to the ground. "Let's finish this." Ash said calmly "Water Pulse!" Then blue orbs formed in Greninja's hand and he threw them at Altaria.

"Altaria Dodge then use Moonblast!" Delia countered. Altaria tried to dodge, but to no avail. It got hit by the water pulse sending it to the ground. It tried to get up but in the process, it fainted.

"Altaria is unable to battle, The round goes to Greninja! Which means the winner of this match is Champion Ash!" The crowd went wild, cheering, and laughing at Delia. Ash didn't even acknowledge his former mother and walked away to the stands to watch the next battle.

"The battle between Champion Iris and Champion Lance will now begin! This will be a 3 on 3 battle! No substitutions! When either side is out of Pokémon, the battle will be over!"

"Trainers please send out your Pokémon!"

"I won't go easy on you iris!" Lance shouted "Dragonite, appear!" Soon the Dragon Pokemon was on the field

"I wouldn't have it any other way!" Iris shouted back "Dragonite, Let's go!" Both Dragonites were on the field, glaring at eachother.

"Both Champions ready?" Iris and Lance nodded "Alright battle begin!"

"Lady's first." Lance offered to Iris

"Such a gentleman!" She complemented "Now Dragonite start this off with Dragon pulse!"

"Counter that with your Dragon Pulse!" Lance countered, soon a purplish beam shot out from both Dragonites and the two moves clashed, both sides trying to overpower the other. Eventually, Lance's dragonite started to overpower Iris's

"Quick Dragonite Dodge and use thunder punch!" Iris shouted, Dragonite then dodged the dragon pulse and got up close to the opposing dragonite

'Oh no you don't.' Lance thought "Dragonite counter with Ice Beam!" Just as Iris's Dragonite was about to make contact, a blue beam formed in Dragonites mouth and fired with perfected accuracy, hitting Iris's Dragonite smack in the face, knocking it to the ground .
"Dragonite can you still go on?" Iris asked, Dragonite standee up and nodded "Alright then use Dragon Pulse, followed up with flamethrower!"

"Dodge it." Lance said as his Dragonite dodged the dragon pulse, then the flamethrower. Iris made a fist with her right hand.

'Lance trained Dragonite well. I can't match it in terms of power.' Iris thought 'I need to catch him off guard somehow'

"Dragonite use twister!" Iris shouted. Soon a tornado came toppling over dragonite and he disappeared.

"Break through with Dragon claw!" Lance demanded and Dragonites claws glowed green and it charged at the twister "Quick Dragonite fly up and use agility, then use Draco Meteo!" Iris countered and Dragonite flew to the top of the twister, using agility on the way up, dodging the opposing Dragonites dragon claw, and raising its speed. Then Dragonite roared and Meteors came crashing down from the sky. "Dragonite use Blizzard!" Lance commanded, soon a blizzard appeared on the field, shrouding the area in snow. "Now use Focus Punch!"

"Dive straight down and meet that head on with Thunder Punch!" Iris countered, she wasn't giving up yet. She knew that the extra speed from the dive would make the punch a bit more powerful. Then both dragonites were in view and the two moves clashed, then Lance shouted "Ice Beam!" And his dragonite fired a beam of ice from its mouth, making direct contact with Iris's dragonite and freezing it in a block of ice. "Dragonite No!" Iris shouted, but the round was over. Dragonite was in the ice, fainted

"Dragonite is unable to battle! This round goes to Lance!" The referee announced "Champion Iris please send out your next Pokémon."

"Dang it." Iris whispered to herself "He played me, hook,line, and sinker. I need to be more careful.", "Excadrill come on out!" She shouted as the Subterrene Pokémon appeared on the field.
"Trainers ready?" They both nodded "Battle begin!"

"We'll go first! Excadrill use Focus Blast!" Iris commanded as Excadrill formed a blue ball in one
of its hands, then threw it at dragonite. "Dragonite cut through it with dragon claw!" Lance countered. Dragonites claws glowed green as it charged and the focus blast and sliced it in two, then it charged and Excadrill

"Quick use dig!" Iris said, then Excadrill dived headfirst into the ground, disappearing. "Get it out of the ground with earthquake!" Lance countered, a few seconds later the ground on the field became unstable and Excadrill shot out and landed on the ground, panting. 'Dang it! He's smart I'll give him that.' Iris thought 'I have an idea, hope this works.'

"Excadrill use dig again!" Excadrill then went into the ground.

'What is she planning?' Lance thought "whatever your planning won't work! Dragonite use earthquake again!"

"Quick Excadrill use drill run on dragonite before it can execute the move!" Iris countered. Just as Dragonite was about to stomp its foot on the ground, Excadrill came out of the ground in between its feet, making dragonite lose its balance and take Excadrill's attack directly.

"Excadrill let's wrap this up!" Iris shouted, dragonite was on the ground, trying to get up.
"Use focus blast!"

Excradrill threw a blue ball from its hand at the speed of lighting and hit Dragonite before it could even react, rendering it unconscious and fainted.

"Dragonite is unable to battle! This round goes to Excadrill!"  The referee announced "Champion Lance please send out your next pokemon."

Meanwhile...in our audience. (Who thought I was going to say Meanwhile..In our universe)

"Well she's doing good." Kiawe remarked, marveling at Iris quick thinking. Then he looked at Ash and noticed that his Z-Ring wasn't there. "Hey whatever happened to your Z-Ring that you got from Tapu Koko?"

"Oh." Ash said "Well long story short it got destroyed." Kiawe got pissed "What? You destroyed the precious Z-Ring that Tapu Koko gave you?!"
He said maliciously, trying to control his anger, making Ash very scared. "Ok hold on! It wasn't me who did it! Let me explain!" Ash pleaded, trembling with fear. "During one of my trips in Ultra Space Tapu Koko accompanied me, he got banged up in a fight against a gang of Stakataka so I repeatedly used GigaVolt Havoc to protect it, but in the end...My     Z-Crystal disintegrated due to overuse and my         Z-Ring got destroyed because Stakataka hit it when I was defending myself from its attack. Tapu Koko offered to give me another one, but I declined."

"Why did u turn down the offer?" Kiawe asked, deep in thought
"Because I don't need Z-Power to be strong." Ash answered "I don't need Z-Power to do things or aid me in battle. I've become so strong the only thing I need is determination and courage. Whatever stands in my way I know I can beat it because I have my Pokémon."  Kiawe was in awe

"Why am I not surprised?" Brock asked "After all its Ash we're talking about."

"What's that have to do with anything?" Ash asked with a pouty face "You do things in the most unusual ways possible." Paul cut in as he was eating a popsicle. Ash then got an idea and grinned "Hey look Paul it's Barry!" Paul then snapped his head around to see a girl filing her nails. She then stopped and noticed Paul starting at her and asked "Did you need something?" Paul blushed in embarrassment "No not at all sorry to disturb you!" He said then whipped his head around to face Ash, glaring daggers at him, grinding his teeth"We will talk later." He said though his teeth "Oh yes, we will."
That last part sent shivers down Ash's spine.
"May Akala Volcano watch over you at that time." Kiawe whispered in his ear. "Trust me you'll need it."
Ash nodded in agreement. Trembling at what Paul would 'talk' about.

Back to the battle!

"Excadrill use Fury Swipes!" Iris commanded

"Gyarados use Hyper beam!" Lance countered and a purple beam fired out of Gyarados's mouth, targeting Excadrill
"Quick! Dodge it Excadrill with Dig, then come out of the ground and attack Gyarados!" Iris said as Excadrill drilled into the ground, the hyperbeam grazing its leg. The arena was silent until Excadrill came out of the ground and attacked Gyarados with its fury swipes. "Gyarados use twister!" Lance commanded, Then a tornado formed above gyarados. "Excadrill get out of there!" Iris shouted, panicked, but it was too late. Excadrill got pulled in along with some debris. "Now Gyarados slam that twister into the ground and use bite!" Soon Gyarados tilted itself down, being the twister along with it, slamming it into the ground and hurting Excadrill. When Excadrill managed to get its bearings it saw Gyarados charging at it with glowing fangs.
"Quick Excadrill get out of their with dig, then use drill run!" Iris commanded, then Excadrill nose dived into the ground and a few seconds later it came out and slammed gyarados in the face with its drill head, knocking it back. Gyarados was panting and Iris saw this as the perfect opportunity to finish it off

"Excadrill let's finish this!" Iris encouraged "Fury Swipes!" Excadrill's claws glowed white and charged at Gyarados. Then Excadrill hit Gyarados directly and sent it towards the ground

"Gyarados No!" Lance shouted, but Gyarados was already on the ground, fainted.

"Gyarados is unable to battle! This round goes to Excadrill!" The referee announced as the crowd went wild. "Champion Lance please send out your final Pokémon."

"You battled well." Lance said as he recalled his Pokémon, then he looked at Iris "I must say you've exceeded my expectations. I wasn't expecting Gyarados to be defeated."

"I'm not The Champion Of Unova for nothing." Iris said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Well I'm sorry but your winning streak ends here." Lance said in a cocky tone "Now Haxorus Let's go!"

"This time we'll go first, Haxorus use swords dance!"
Lance shouted as Swords surrounded Haxorus. When the swords disappeared orange flames appeared from below Haxorus and went upward, raising its attack power.

'He's planning something.' Iris thought then shouted "Excadrill use Dig!" Then the subterranean pokemon disappeared into the ground.

"Now Haxorus use Earthquake and jump into the air!" Lance countered. Haxorus stomped its foot onto the ground and Excadrill came flying out into the air. Then Haxorus jumped right above Excadrill
"Now Haxorus! Finish this with Superpower!" Then Haxorus grabbed Excadrill mid-air and threw it towards the ground. 'Dangit I'm going to lose this round!' Iris thought 'Wait a minute I have an idea. Ok here we go.'

"Excadrill if you can hear me straighten up and dive into the ground with Dig, then shoot out of the ground with Drill run and slam into Haxorus mid-air!" Iris shouted, surprising Lance. Excadrill did as he was told and successfully dived into the ground and shot out into the air with drill run, then it slammed into Haxorus mid-air and sent him crashing down into the field. Creating lots of smoke

"Haxorus use Outrage!" Lance countered and Haxorus went into rage hitting Excadrill repeatedly and slamming it against a wall. Excadrill was now breathing hard and looked tired
(So I honestly never seen outrage before but due to its description I'm guessing it does this)

"Excadrill can you still go on?" Iris asked.

"Don't worry I'll make sure It won't be able to go on!" Lance cut in. "Haxorus let's finish this up! Use Hyper Beam!" Then Haxorus charged a purplish Beam in its mouth and fired. Excadrill tried to dodge, but to no avail.

"Excadrill No!" Iris shouted, but it was to late to do anything now. Excadrill got caught in the Hyper Beam and was now on the ground, fainted.

"Excadrill is unable to battle! This round goes to Haxorus!" The referee announced "Champion Iris please send out your final Pokémon."

"Great Job Excadrill, now take a good long rest." Iris said as she recalled her Pokémon. "Now Emolga come on out! I shouted as the Sky Squirrel Pokémon appeared on the field.

"Emolga let's start this off with discharge!" Iris shouted. Emolga then released electricity from its body and aimed it at Haxorus. "Haxorus dodge it, then use Hyper Beam!" Lance countered, Haxorus easily dodged, then countered by firing a purplish beam from its mouth.

"Emolga dodge, then use Hidden Power!" Iris commanded, Emolga dodged with ease, then fired a whiteish, purplish, pinkish orb from its mouth and hit Haxorus directly. "Haxorus Hyper Beam again!"
Lance shouted

"Dodge then use discharge!" Iris countered and history repeated itself. Emolga again dodged with ease and electricity came shooting out of its body, hitting Haxorus directly.

Haxorus was slightly panting and struggling to stand, it was at its limit. Iris saw this as the perfect to wrap this up, but didn't take the chance because she knew Lance wouldn't let her win so easily.

"Emolga get close to Haxorus!" Iris said and Emolga started to fly closer to Haxorus

"Haxorus use Superpower!" Lance countered

"Quickly Emolga use Attract!" Iris shouted and just before Haxorus could use the move, Emolga successfully executed attract and Haxorus fell for it.

"Haxorus is now love stricken!" Iris shouted to Lance, who was slightly frustrated. "Emolga let's wrap this up! Use discharge!" Emolga then shot electricity out of its body and hit Haxorus directly, creating some smoke. "Haxorus No!" Lance shouted. When the smoke faded away, Haxorus was on the ground with swirls in its eyes.

"Haxorus I unable to battle, this round goes to Emolga!" The referee announced "The battle goes to Champion Iris!" The crowd was silent, then erupted with cheer. "Emolga we did it!" Iris shouted as she hugged her Pokémon. "Thank you." Then she recalled it and walked up Lance, who was thanking Haxorus. "Haxorus you battled well. Return." Lance said then looked up at Iris "That was a great battle, Champion Iris." Lance complemented

"Likewise Champion Lance." Iris said in reply "Well I must be going now, I will cheer for you." Lance said as he walked away. Iris also walked off to the stands to join Ash and the others.

"Hey boys." Iris said as she sat down next to Ash.
"Great job Iris." Brock said and everyone else congratulated her.

"Alright may I have your attention please!" Charles said in the mic and everyone went silent. "Their have been many battles today, and I thank you for competing. As you know tomorrow is the Semi-Finals, well it should be anyway. For the next 2 days the league will be closed due to the yearly Festival of Creation. That will be all, have a good day and we will see you in 2 days!"

2 hours later Ash's POV

"Well someone better explain how I got Mushroom stew in my pants!" Brock finished and we all burst into laughter. "It's so warm." We were all eating dinner and Brock was making us all crack up with his jokes. "Brock were do you come up with this stuff?" I asked after I stopped laughing "Like I'd ever tell you." He replied

"I bet this is all from your past experiences." Kiawe blurted out "Gonna have to agree with you." Iris added on "After all he's an old man."

"I'm not old!" Brock retorted "I'm only 32!"
"Yeah yeah sure you are!" Iris said in a childish voice. "Yeah Brock I've known you for a long time I doubt your 32." I added on.

"I am!" He half shouted in frustration, clearly not enjoying this. He then calmed down "Changing the subject, Kiawe how is your family?" Brock asked

"Oh their doing good." Kiawe answered "Their still on our farm and since all the traitors are here in Kalos they can't hurt my little sister. And if they try" Then he paused for a moment and held up his arm, revealing his Z-Ring
"I will show no mercy!" He said in a malicious tone and I shivered "Ash why are you so scared all of a sudden?" Iris asked me, worried. "Oh well you see back in Alola I once lost my Electrium Z and let's just say Kiawe got really mad when he found out."
I answered, slightly panicking "Of course I did that Electrium Z was given to you by Tapu Koko!" Kiawe retorted "If rotom hadn't stopped us I would've used Inferno Overdrive."

"Anyways I'm heading to bed." I said as I got up and put my plate on the kitchen counter "Goodnight."
Then I went into my bedroom and started to change.

Iris's POV
"Imma head to bed to." I said then I started heading to Ash's room "Umm why are you going to Ash's room?" Kiawe asked me "I sleep with him. He's my boyfriend." I replied and he nodded and snickered a bit. I rose an eyebrow "What?" I asked

"Don't go in there." He told me, I'm guessing he was imagining what would happen if I did. Unfortunately curiosity got the best of me "Well then I guess I will." Then I opened the door and blushed. Ash was standing in his underwear putting sweatpants on. Then he froze, looked at me and blushed. I looked at him, but it was a little difficult because the room was dimly lit.
'Damn puberty hit him hard!' I thought, then mentally scolded myself. After that I shouted "Sorry!" Then I slammed the door, red as a tomato. After 10 seconds the guys burst into laughter "Wow! That...haha...played exactly......hahahaha..how I thought it would!" Brock said in between laughs, and Kiawe nodded in agreement. They were laughing so hard I could swear their stomachs were hurting.

"Shutup!" I shouted in embarrassment, which made them laugh even harder. "Shutup!"

"Ok no need to make a scene." Kiawe said as Brock started to was the dishes "Yeah Iris we are just having fun." Brock added on. Before they could say anything else I went into Ash's room. Thankfully he was done changing and was in bed.
"Hey umm sorry for barging I'm earlier I should've knocked." I said in a apologetic tone. He then sat up
"You don't need to apologize. I'm used to it." He replied as I joined him in bed. "What do you mean 'used to it'?" I asked him.

"Well back in Crystal Valley Astral, Elizabeth, Jade, Jasper, and the others used to barge into my room all the time, whether it be because of an emergency, a problem with the league, etcetera, etcetera." He explained to me "And I've had my fair share of embarrassing moments."

I chuckled a bit. Then he laid down and I looked at him for a second before laying down right by him and resting my head on his shoulder and putting my right hand on his chest. He then put a hand on my waist and pulled me a bit closer towards him.
"Hey Ash?" I asked

"Yes Iris?" He replied. I then shifted a bit and looked into his chocolate brown gaze. "Well I was wondering, could we go to the Festival Of Creation tomorrow." I asked and he chuckled a bit "Well we haven't had our first date yet so I suppose we could. It will be fun."

"Fine." I said in a pouty tone and he kissed me on the lips. I melted into the kiss, enjoy every second of it. When we broke off, we looked into each others eyes and smiled. Then I buried my head in his chest and slowly fell asleep, looking forward to the next day.
