12. Plan B
We had a plan.
A crappy one, but we had a plan. Scott had learned that Deucalion was staying at some run down mall that was a little ways out of town, but we knew where they were, and that's what mattered. Derek, Cora, Boyd, and Isaac all got involved in this; only because Derek practically made them. Peter was thrown in there too, but he wasn't going to risk his life for an Argent, so he didn't come.
Scott and the others tried to tell me to stay behind, that they had this, but no way was I going to do that. Lydia insisted on coming as well, since she knew that Stiles was in danger was my guess. I was going to make sure Allison and Stiles both were okay, and if we found out that they weren't...let's just say that I'll make sure Deucalion won't ever be able to see again.
"Scott," I hear Deucalion say as I peer over the edge of the concrete wall, looking down to see Scott and Isaac walk up to Deucalion. "I thought you said you'd be coming alone."
Scott motions towards Isaac as Lydia looks over the side as well. "Oh yeah, he's not a problem-"
"Not him," Deucalion growls, knowing that we had a plan and it was already in motion. My eyes flick across the room at Derek, seeing him step out alone with Cora and Boyd. My heart races as I look over and see Ennis and Kali step out from the shadows, the twins flipping in the air before landing on the ground, merged together.
Now was our chance.
"Where's Allison and Stiles?" Scott spits, knowing that this was business. I could tell in his voice that he was almost as desperate to find them as I was. I start sneaking my way across the second floor as I make my way towards where the twins came from, hoping that I'd find Allison and Stiles in one of the rooms. Lydia follows quietly behind me as she kicks her heels off; good thing too, or else we really would have gotten caught.
Deucalion laughs at Scott. "Do you really think I'd just give you an answer that easily?"
"Why do you have them?" Derek says this time, fully transformed. "It's not like you can do much with a spaz and a hunter."
Deucalion grins ever so slightly as I keep quiet. "They're leverage, that's what they are. Speaking of leverage, where is the seer?"
Scott furrows his eyebrows as my blood goes cold. "Corey? We told him to stay back for this reason exactly."
Deucalion looks as if he knows something is up. "Kind of surprising...I would've figured he'd do anything in his power to get back his girl and his friend."
Scott growls lowly at this, probably from Deucalion saying "his girl", but it didn't matter. Kali acts first as she runs at Derek, starting a fight to break out amongst everyone. Deucalion stays back as he grins, listening to the chaos all around him. I watch for a moment as Scott and Isaac transform, but soon I'm turning around and scanning the area for Allison and Stiles.
I tried my best to not make any noise, but it was slightly hard considering the fact that there were little bits of concrete lying everywhere across the floor. I curse at myself under my breath as I peer into one of the rooms; completely abandoned. The next three rooms were the same way, until I got to the last one on the right side.
My heart leapt in my chest when I saw two figures sitting there against the wall, heads lowered. Their hands were behind their backs and tape was across their mouths, but they didn't move in the slightest. I wondered if they were passed out, but what mattered was that they were alive. They were okay.
"Allison," I whispers fiercly as I take a step inside. "Stiles."
Suddenly, both of their eyes flick up to Lydia and I as their faces flush white, making me grow sick with nerves. Allison's eyes are wide and filled with tears as she shakes her head, trying to tell me something that I wasn't sure of. Stiles was silent as he tried to pull his hands free, but failed with every attempt.
I quickly run to their side, pulling Allison's hands free before taking the tape off. She breathes heavily before turning to me, panic written on her face. "You need to get out of here-"
"I'm not leaving you guys," I state as Lydia pulls off the bands around Stiles' wrist, pulling him in a hug before releasing. "Come on."
Allison grabs my wrist, holding me back. "Corey, you don't get it. You need to get out of here...now."
Something on her face made the hair on the back of my neck stand. Something in her eyes screamed fear, something that was rare on Allison's face. I held my ground. "You're both coming with us."
Allison can't argue as I pull her off of the ground, clasping onto her hand as if I were to let go, I'd lose her this time for good. Stiles follows Lydia silently as we start to walk out of the room, hoping to escape before we got caught, but Allison is soon whispering into my ear again.
"You don't get it. They only took us to get to you, Corey-"
"You think I don't know that already?" I say as I turn back to face her, grabbing onto her hands for some sort of comfort. "I wasn't going to leave here without you."
Allison's eyes soften for a moment before they're wide with panic, but I wasn't sure why. "Lookout-"
Suddenly, I feel something grip the back of my neck as I'm thrown backwards, skidding across the concrete as my back slams against the wall. It takes me a moment to recover from the pain and the sudden movement, but my eyes are quickly focused again as I watch Kali back hand Stiles, push Lydia to the side, and most importantly, she grabs Allison by the neck and holds her still.
"Take your hands off of her!" I scream at her, but Kali just smirks at me. I feel strength rise within me as I raise from the ground, starting to take off at Kali, but something then grabs my bicep and holds me back. My eyes turn to see Jade staring back at me, her hand going from my arm to the back of my neck, holding me still as claws grazed my skin.
I hold my breath as I look over at Allison, seeing the panic written on her face. I grit my teeth. "You want me, right? Let them go."
Kali laughs, but Jade stays perfectly quiet. "But four is much more fun than one."
I don't have time to snap something back before Jade is tugging me back towards where the fight had just broken out a few mere moments ago, but this time, it was a more quiet. I didn't want to be controlled by Jade, but the claws on the back of my neck made me worried that if I were to retaliate, there would be terrible punishments for me and for everyone else I care about.
We turn the corner as I look down a long, beaten down escalator, seeing Deucalion looking up at me, along with the rest of the pack. Only the rest of them were holding down Derek, Isaac, Cora, Boyd, and Scott, meaning that we lost. The plan failed.
"There's Corey," Deucalion grins as Jade pushes me down the sets of stairs. I try to hold my footing, but Jade just growls at me to keep moving, so I did. "Think you'd sneak your way around me, eh?"
Soon, I'm a reasonable distance away from him, so I did the only thing I could do. I somehow gather up enough confidence to spit onto his face, feeling a little better after I had done so. He just stares at me and laughs before pulling out a piece of cloth, wiping it away as if I had never even done that.
"I'm here to offer you a deal," Deucalion growls lowly at me, but somehow his tone is still light hearted. "Well, more of a choice. Who do you think Derek should kill? His own sister or his beta?"
My mouth goes dry. "What?"
Deucalion grins. "Well, you can see the future, right? Might want to go ahead and tell us who he chooses to save the anticipation."
I couldn't even see the future; at least not yet. My lips curl into a snarl. "Go to Hell."
"Maybe it's Allison," Deucalion turns and says, looking over at Allison who was being held the same way I was by Kali. "I'm sure Derek would choose her over those other two any day. After all, Hale's hate Argent's."
My breath starts to become shaky as I notice a wet tear fall down Allison's cheek. "Please, you don't have to do this-"
"That's what I'm here for, isn't it?" Deucalion grins. "More additions to my pack mean more deaths, so I figured maybe we should go ahead and get this show on the road."
I didn't have much time to think; I didn't have much time for anything. I knew that if I didn't give him an answer soon, he'd take Allison from me, and no way in hell would I allow that. I wouldn't tell him to kill Cora or Boyd either, so there was only one other option left.
Fight.
My arm lifts quickly as I jab it backwards into Jade's face, my elbow flying straight into her nose. She releases her grip from me and roars as I make my escape, trying to get away before someone else got to me first, but I was already too late. Kali was on me in an instant, and judging by the look in her eyes, she wasn't thinking clearly. She was going off of pure rage.
The last thing I hear before everything starts to fade around me was Allison's scream, echoing in my mind like a broken record. After that, I see Kali's claws swipe clean across my chest, cutting deep as hell. I gasp from the sharp pain and from the blood flying up onto her face, but everything felt like it was in slow motion; like it had just before I had died.
My arms reach out to grab something, anything, but my legs are soon failing as I fall backwards down the escalator. I feel completely numb as I tumble down the steps, landing at the bottom of them in a heap, frozen still. I tried to get up, to move again, but something felt like I was slowly drifting away.
"...Corey!" I hear someone yell, but I couldn't tell if it was Allison or Jade. My eyes shift downwards at all of the blood pouring from my chest, and I knew then that this was the end for me...again. I had only been back for 2 months before Kali took it away from me, and for that I hated her the most.
A pair of hands, I think, grab my arms as they flip me from my side to my back so that my chest was exposed and visible. My vision blurs all around me as I tried to fight for a little while longer, feeling my lungs starting to fill with blood, but I had to fight. There had to be a way to save me.
But that was when I started coughing up blood.
Allison's face comes into my field of vision then, seeing her mascara seeping down her face as her hands grabbed the sides of my face, saying words that just sounded like gibberish to me. A hand is grabbing her shoulder then as someone pulls her back away from me, seeing that it was Deucalion. He looked almost more panicked than Allison did, probably because his only weapon was dying right in front of him.
He shakes with anger and fear. "Lydia..." he fades out before screaming. "Where's Lydia Martin!"
--------
Okay, I lied. Not all is revealed...yet. This was a lot longer than I expected so I decided to cut it here and just tell you guys in the next chapter what exactly is going on. Besides, you can survive a few more days...right?
Why do you think Deucalion needs Lydia? Seems a little fishy to me...
