Nine
Olivia's POV:
"Alright, since Inertia is a subject of which you all know plenty, why don't we start with momentum?" Mr. Harris says as he underlines the words Inertia and Momentum on the board.
"They're here for a reason. Give me a chance to figure it out before you do anything, okay?" I hear Scott whisper to Isaac who was sitting beside me.
I worriedly glance to him but see his jaw was clenched since he was still pissed off from what happened with the twins earlier.
"Olivia," I look up from my notes and see Mr. Harris already staring at me. "what do we know about momentum?"
"It's the mass and velocity of the object. Like the force of speed of movement." I answer, recalling from what I remembered in my notes.
Mr. Harris was about to respond but Isaac shoots his hand up. "Mr. Harris, can I use that bathroom please?"
He gestures to the door and Isaac gets up from his spot without sparing a look behind him. I worriedly turn to Scott and he stood up from his place as well.
"I have to go to the bathroom too." Scott tries to say but Mr. Harris puts his hand up.
"One at a time."
"I-I really have to go. Like medical emergency have to go." Scott stammers.
"Mr. McCall, if your bladder suddenly exploded and urine began to pour from every orifice, I would still respond, 'one at a time'." Mr. Harris responds and I scrunch my nose in disgust. "Is that enough hyperbole for you or would you like me to come up with something more vivid?"
"No," Scott murmured and proceeded to sit down on his stool. "that's pretty good."
Something clashes against the wall from outside which causes Mr. Harris to quickly storm out of the classroom. The rest of the class follows behind but Scott and I push our way through to the front.
Isaac was standing near Ethan, who laid on the ground with blood pouring from his mouth. From our perspective, it seemed like Isaac had a fight with Ethan but I knew he wouldn't do it here. Not in a public place where someone could just walk out and see it.
It was a set up.
"What is this?" Mr. Harris's voice booms in the hallway. "What's going on?"
Danny quickly goes to Ethan's side to try to help him up. "Are you all right?"
Ethan nods his head towards Isaac with a fearful expression. "H-He just came out me."
"That's bullshit." I retort and gesture to Isaac's hands. "I don't see blood on his knuckles!"
"That's enough, Miss Flores." Mr. Harris scolded and turns his attention back to Isaac. "Isaac, you have lunch detention."
I was about to argue, but I feel a hand grab my arm which causes me to look up and meet Scott's stern expression. He simply shakes his head and all i could do was watch Ethan get escorted with Danny to the nurse's office.

"You know damn well that they planned that whole thing." I remarked as Scott walked with me to my locker. "Isaac would never do something reckless."
"I know—"
"Then why didn't you defend him with me?" I cross my arms. "He's our friend."
"No one was going to believe us anyway. You saw how Mr. Harris didn't even question it."
I roll my eyes. "It's just frustrating that they think they have the upper hand over us. For god's sake, they tried taking me to Deucalion during PE!"
"But they didn't," We stop in front of my locker but he stands in front of me. "that's why one of us is going to be with you at all times so they won't get the chance to do whatever they want with you."
"Speaking of that, I need to tell you something," I cautiously look around to make sure the twins weren't around. "it's about what happened earlier when they had me."
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Did they hurt you?"
I shake my head. "No, I'm talking about when they were holding me down." I turn the dial to my locker. "Something weird happened."
"Like what?"
"They kept saying that the reason Deucalion told them to bring me to him was for my powers." I say and he crossed his arms. "I know that I can heal from random wounds, but I don't have complete control over it yet."
"Are you sure you're not a werewolf?" He rose an eyebrow.
"At first, I thought I was," I nervously start off. "but when Ethan and Aiden were talking about me, I just got so...angry. Like I wanted to actually hurt the twins. Then I heard this like, sizzling sound and they instantly let go of my arms."
"Sizzling?"
I nod. "Then when we found Kyle on the tree, I saw that their hands were red. It was like I burned them but I don't know how I did."
"Did you read the bestiary?"
"That's the first thing I did but I haven't found anything yet. Especially the whole burning thing is new, I have to check again." I put my binder inside my locker. "I don't know what's happening to me but all I know is that I can't meet Deucalion if he thinks whatever I am is going to help him."
"We can ask Derek to see--" He stops talking but his eyes widen. "something's wrong."
I close my locker. "What?"
"Allison." He whispers then the next thing I knew, he sprinted down the hallway without another word.
I follow after him towards the back of the school and see a vending machine propped against the janitor's closet. Scott takes off his backpack then tugs on the vending machine.
He pulls it out of the way at ease and rips open the door, seeing Isaac holding Allison by her wrists with his claws.
Scott grabs ahold of his shoulders and throws him away from Allison, making him fall flat on his back and nearby where I stood.
I stumble a bit against the wal at the sight of his fangs and bright gold eyes in display. Before he could lunge, Scott is the first to hold him on the ground by wrapping his hand on Isaac's throat.
"Isaac!" His voice bellowed. Isaac relaxes under his hold and his eyes shift back to his regular brown eyes along with his teeth returning back to normal.
Allison steps out of the closet with a pained expression as she held on to her wrist. "Are you okay?" I ask with concern.
"I'm fine." She breathed out as Scott takes his hand off of Isaac.
"I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean to do that," Isaac choked out, pushing himself up to lean against the wall away from us. "I'm so sorry."
"I'm okay," Allison assured but Isaac shook his head in shame.
"I'm so sorry," His voice trembled as he dug his fingers through his hair.
"It's not his fault," I remark, feeling my blood start to boil. "It's the twins."
"I know," Scott looks down to Isaac. "I guess now we know they want to do more than get you angry."
"They don't care if someone gets hurt." I say and worriedly glance to her. "Who knows what would've happened if Allison stayed in there longer."
Isaac cleared his throat. "So are we going to do something?"
"For messing with the girl I— I mean, the two people I care about," I cough awkwardly. "I'm gonna get a lacrosse stick and wrap it in wolfsbane to—"
"No," Scott interrupts me with a stern expression. "we're gonna do this together. We're gonna get them angry. Really angry,"
Scott explains his plan to us which earns a smirk to form on Isaac's face but for me, I was half nervous and half confident over what I had to do.
"Come on Isaac, I'll show you where to stand," Scott says and helps Isaac up from the ground.
They both walk away but I look to Allison. "All right, show me the mark." I say as soon as they leave.
She furrowed her eyebrows. "What?"
"You haven't moved your hand away from your wrist ever since you came out so I want to see how bad it is." I gesture to her wrist.
She sighs in defeat but numbly nods her head. I move her hand away from her wrist and see the claw indents that were slightly bloody. "Allison."
"I didn't want them to worry." She whispers softly but I cup her wrist with my hands. "What are you doing?"
"I can heal whenever I get hurt," I clench her wrist with my hands. "so I want to try something."
I subconsciously close my eyes and feel a small tingle trail from my shoulders into my hands. It felt like all of my energy was being drained which causes me to let go of her arm. I stumble a bit but catch myself by leaning against the wall.
"What did you just do?" She holds me up by grabbing my arm.
"I'm okay, I just feel tired." I saw and glance at her newly healed wrist. "look."
Her eyes trail down to her wrist and they widen, seeing the indents were gone. She brushes her thumb against it and slowly looks up to meet my eyes.
"How did you do that?"
"I think I found my trigger." I give a small smile. "And a new power."
She laughs and grabs my hand, dragging me to the exit that led to the front of the school. She pushes open the doors and we quickly go down the stairs towards the parking lot.
She looks around cautiously and guides me to the motorcycle that I'm pretty sure was one of the twins'.
She lets go of my hand and starts taking apart some pieces from the bottom of the bike and pulls out two wires.
"When and where did you learn how to hot-wire a motorcycle?" I cross my arms with a teasing smile.
"I mean, I had to practice when we become Bonnie and Clyde sometime soon." She jokes and stands up from her spot. She revs the engine and the motorcycle spurs to life.
"Nice." I laugh and swing my leg over so I could hop on. "You sure you don't want to go on?"
"No or else the plan won't work." She chuckled. "Pull back with your left hand, kick down to put it in gear." She points at the spots then grabs my right hand. "Front brake and throttle." She says as she moves my hand to each part. "Then hit the back brake to stop."
I look up and see her face was close to mine. Her eyes dart between my eyes and lips, and I could've sworn I seen her cheeks redden.
She clears her throat which snaps me back to reality. "Try not to crash."
"Got it," I cough and she backs away, pulling her phone out.
"Smile!" She says and I smile cheekily. "Cute."
I follow the instructions from what Allison told me and drive towards the entrance of the school. I carefully turn the corner, barely scraping the locker with the bike and continue down the hallway where Ms. Blake's class was.
I see Aiden sprinting towards me and I push the brakes to slow down. He grabs the front of the bike, making me face him.
"Get off my bike!" He yells but I simply take off my helmet, adjusting my hair so it wouldn't be messy and place the helmet on the bike.
I lift my hands up and I feel Isaac grab my arms to help me flip over Aiden at ease.
Isaac hops down from the vents and we casually walk down the hallway in time for the rest of the classes to walk out to see Aiden in front of the bike.
Miss Blake carefully pushes pass me and she crosses her arms as soon as she sees Aiden. "You've got to be kidding me." She scolded which caused him to jump at the tone of her voice. "You realize this is going to result in a suspension."
"No..." I turn and see the panicked expression on Ethan's face.
I lean close to his ear. "Better think twice before you try to hurt Allison."
A low growl escapes from his lips but I shrug innocently before high-fiving Isaac and Scott.
My gaze lands on Allison and find that she was already smiling at me. She lifts her fist up and I reciprocate it by giving her a fist bump.

I decided to pay a visit to Cora after school since I didn't really get the chance to when we brought her and Boyd when they were unconscious.
It would be a good time to catch up with an old friend.
However, for some reason, the weather decided to switch from being sunny to suddenly become a thunderstorm. I was pretty much soaked since I didn't think to bring an umbrella.
As soon as I pull open the door, I'm met with Cora tending a fresh new cut on her face as she sat on the couch.
"I didn't take you to be clumsy." I tease and she turns, a small smile forming on her face. "Didn't your brother tell you that you should be resting?"
"I think you know me well enough that I don't like people telling me what to do." She says as I walk up to her. I pull her in a hug but she grunts in pain. I pull away with confusion, seeing her hold her neck with a pained manner. "Sorry, my neck still kind of hurts."
"My bad. I missed you a lot." I sheepishly admitted and she chuckles. "I would ask why you disappeared back then but now I know why."
She awkwardly scratches her neck. "I couldn't say goodbye to you without telling you why."
"It also explains why certain nights you completely ignored me," I add as we both sat down on the couch.
"Full moon." We say in unison which makes us start laughing again.
Her laughs slowly started to quiet down and a frown formed on her face. "I'm sorry for keeping the whole werewolf thing from you. I didn't want you in danger."
"It's fine, really," I assure. "Just don't go against the alpha pack anymore."
"I can't promise you that." She points to a spot that was in the middle of the loft. "They came by earlier today to threaten Derek about joining their pack. Kali stuck a pole in his stomach, practically leaving him to bleed to death."
My eyes widen. "What? Why didn't you call any of us for help?"
"I don't exactly trust Scott and his little pack." She retorts.
"But it's still better than being outnumbered." I scold which causes her to roll her eyes. "You could've gotten hurt."
She scoffs. "If I wanted a lecture, I would've still been talking to Derek." She gets up from her spot and grabs a towel that hung on a rack then tosses it to me. "I'm not a kid anymore."
Oh, how the tables have turned. No wonder Allison got frustrated with me.
"Cora, you're a beta." I gesture to her as I dried myself with the towel. You're going against a pack of alphas and if Derek easily got hurt from them, imagine what they'll do to you."
"Well--"
"I don't get it, did something happen?" Cora and I turn away from each other to see Isaac in an argument with Derek in the living room.
"It's just not going to work with both of you here. I've got Cora now so it's too much." Derek says, not even bothering to look Isaac in the eye since he was looking out the window. "I need you out by tonight."
Isaac scoffs. "Where am I supposed to go?"
"Somewhere else," Derek mumbles and I feel Cora tug on my arm.
"We shouldn't listen in." She whispers but I ignore her, peeking through the doors.
"Did I do something wrong, Derek?" Isaac softly asked.
Derek turns around and I could see the glass cup in his hands. "You're doing something wrong right now by not leaving." He gestured to the door.
Isaac sighs. "Come on."
"Get out."
"Derek please," He pleaded as he took a step closer to him.
"Get out." Derek sternly points at the door.
"Come on--"
"Go!" Derek yells and throws the glass at Isaac, ducking just in time for it to shatter against the post he leaned on.
I feel Cora jump at the sound and I turn to hand the towel back to her.
"I should go," I whisper and she nods, grabbing the towel from my hands.
I quickly follow after Isaac, not even caring if Derek saw me run after him.
"Isaac," I call out through the sound of the rain hitting the pavement. He sadly turns to me and I lift up my keys with a small smile. "need a ride?"
He follows me to my car and puts his duffel bag in the backseat. He hops in the front seat as I start the ignition.
"Thanks, Olivia." He mutters as I drove us away from the loft. "Did you see the whole--"
"Yeah," I say and he leans against the window. "I'm sorry."
"I don't even know what I did." He looks out the window. "I came home and next thing I know he's telling me to leave? How can he expect me to find a place?" He scoffs with annoyance. "Some alpha leader."
"Well..." I trail and he looks up with confusion. "I think I have a place in mind."
"What?"
"How do you feel about living with my mom and me?"
