Olivia's POV:
An ear-piercing whistle startles me from my sleep, causing me to rub my eyes tiredly.
"Wake up!" Coach shouted as people from the bus gathered their things. "If you don't get your asses up in the next couple seconds, you'll be sleeping outside!"
As Allison and I get off the bus to join the others, my eyes trail at the motel we were supposed to be staying in but I scrunch my nose in disgust since the vibe of the place didn't seem right.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if a serial killer decided to pop out from the shadows with a chainsaw and a mask.
"I've seen worse," Scott shrugged, trying to lift our spirits with an assuring smile.
"Where have you seen worse?" Stiles asked incredulously but Coach blows his whistle which caused everyone to jump at the sound.
"Listen up, the meet's been pushed till tomorrow." He explained and gestured to the motel behind him. "This is the closest motel with the most vacancies and least amount of good judgment when it comes to accepting a bunch of degenerates like yourselves. You'll be pairing up. Choose wisely."
As everyone lined up to grab their room keys except Lydia, Allison, and I, Coach turns to the students that were walking to their rooms.
"And I'll have no sexual perversions perpetrated by you little deviants. Got that? Keep your dirty little hands to your dirty little selves!" He continues then tosses me a room key before walking off to his own room.
Allison and I start walking as the bus leaves to park but I notice Lydia didn't follow behind.
I turn to see her staring at the motel without taking another step closer. "Lydia, you coming?"
"I don't like this place." She mutters.
Allison chuckles and grabs the key from my hands. "I don't think the people who own this place like this place. It's just for a night."
"A lot can happen in one night." Lydia crosses her arms uncomfortably.
I pat her back. "We'll be fine." I wrap my arm around hers to drag her to our room. "It's not like we can sleep on the bus."
Once we get to the second floor, one of the doors swing open and Stiles pops his head out.
"We need to talk." Before I could object, he grabs my arm and pulls me inside to shut the door.
"Hey! At least you could've let me drop my stuff off." I glare, adjusting the straps to my duffel bag.
"I have four suspects for the human sacrifices," Stiles says then plops on his bed and I see Scott was already laying down on the other bed.
"Four?" Scott amusedly asks. "So who's number one? Harris?"
"Just cause he's missing, doesn't mean he's dead."
"So if he's not dead, our chemistry teacher is out secretly committing human sacrifices?" I retort and Stiles dropped his expression, most likely realizing that his assumption is wrong.
"Yeah, I guess that sounded way better in my head," Stiles muttered under his breath.
"What if it's somebody else from school? Like, remember Matt? We didn't know he was killing people." Scott suggests and Stiles does a double-take.
"Excuse me—what? I called that from day one, actually."
"Yeah, but we didn't seriously think it was Matt," I say. "Besides, I thought he was cool until we found out he was secretly obsessed with Allison."
He glares. "I was serious! I was quite serious, actually! Deadly serious. No one listened to me."
"Who were the other three?" Scott pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance.
"Derek's sister, Cora."
I immediately shake my head. "It's not Cora."
"No one knows anything about her and she's Derek's sister." He emphasizes as he looks between Scott and me.
"I've known Cora longer than you two bozos and I know that it's not her." I retort. "Who else is on your list?"
He glances towards Scott's direction. "Your boss."
Scott sits up from his bed. "My boss?"
"Yeah, I don't like the whole Obi-wan thing he's got going on. It freaks me out." Scott looks at him with confusion. "Have you not seen Star Wars?"
"I promise as soon as we make it out of this, I will watch it," Scott assured. Stiles tries to make another comment but I groan.
"We're getting off track. Who else is next?" I say but Stiles frowns. "Who is it?"
"Lydia." He mutters. "She was in total control of Peter and she didn't know."
I roll my eyes. "It's not—Look, we'll talk about this more tomorrow." I stretch my limbs before I open their door. "I just want to get at least one good night of sleep and you guys should too."
I shut the door behind me and walk over to my room. I was about to knock but Lydia already had opened the door.
"I'm getting new towels." She lifts the towels in her hands. "They reek of nicotine."
I chuckle as she brushes passed me and as soon as I walk in, I cover my nose with my shirt with disgust.
"Jesus, who died in here?" I groan, shutting the door behind me.
"Right?" Allison chuckled, taking a couple of things out of her bag.
My eyes trail over to the two beds and see Lydia's things all over one bed already. Oh gosh.
"You can sleep with me if you want to?"
My eyes widen at her comment and she sees my flustered state. "I-I--"
"I mean, to share a bed!" She exclaimed and I nod slowly. "Not in that way, if that's what you're thinking. You know what, you decide." She stammered as she avoided eye contact from me.
I walk over to the dresser by the TV and place my duffel bag to pull out my clothes for tomorrow. "I'm exhausted."
"Tell me about it." Allison stretches her arms back. "The drive made my back sore."
"As much as I agree, I didn't mean that." I put the clothes inside the drawers before leaning against the dresser. "I just mean in general."
"What do you mean?"
"Have you ever thought of just leaving Beacon Hills?" I ask as I turned my head to face her. "Like just packing up all of your things and never look back?"
"Not really, no." She points to the bed filled with Lydia's things and me. "Can't leave the people I care about here."
"But with everything going on, wouldn't it be better for you? You wouldn't have to always look over your shoulder to make sure a werewolf or some psycho-crazed murderer is coming after you." I gesture to her. "You could have a normal life out there, Allison. You could be safe, you could be happy, you could be living life to the fullest. Why didn't you stay in Paris? Maybe it was fate for you and your dad to stay there. To start over."
"I had my reasons." She shrugged. "Besides, I don't believe in fate."
I rose an eyebrow. "I'm serious, Allison. Why didn't you really stay?"
"If you really want to know...it was you." My eyes widen in surprise but she shyly takes a couple of steps towards me. "You were the main reason why I wanted to come back. The whole time when I was gone, I felt small and I never really knew why." She softly responds with a small smile. "But then I couldn't stop thinking about you and it stressed me out because I was afraid things were going to change between us, but it was like nothing ever happened. Of course, it was awkward at first, but we were still friends and I wanted nothing more than for it to stay that way if it was something that you wanted. I couldn't imagine a life in which I didn't get to see you every day. I didn't want to. Even if it means we're being faced with danger or staying in crappy motels, I will take whatever life with you I can get if we could face it together. I'm happy with you, Olivia."
She leaned against the dresser next to me, almost as if she was waiting for my answer.
My heart was practically hammering in my chest, leaving me to want to melt on the spot. Oh god, I had to say something. Anything!
"I-I-I—um. What are w-words?" I stammer which earns a smile to form on her lips.
She moves her hand on top of mine. "Do I make you nervous?"
"Sort of?" I feel my face begin to flush. "But me happy too you make."
She tilts her head with an amused expression and I mentally facepalm for my horrible grammar.
For god's sake, my sentence sounded like something Yoda would say. Yes, I've seen Star Wars.
"I mean, you make me happy too." I awkwardly scratch the back of my neck.
I realize the position we were in and I knew in her eyes she could see my hesitation of whether to lean in or not. My eyes dart between her eyes and lips, causing my nerves to kick in.
Is this happening? Oh god, it's really happening. Maybe I should pull away. Maybe it's too early to do this. I have to--
"Olivia," Allison whispered, cutting me from my thoughts. "you've seriously got to stop thinking too much." She grabs the collar of my jacket and the next thing I knew, I feel her soft lips crash against mine.
The amount of time I've spent wondering what the feeling it was like to kiss her, it was definitely worth the wait. Comparing to when I kissed Isaac, kissing Allison was completely different. A good different, hell maybe an incredible difference.
Let me just say it felt like sparks—no wait. More like the big finale with a ton of fireworks exploding billions of colors up in the sky on the fourth of July.
It felt like everything else disappeared and we were in the middle of space, surrounded by the dozens of stars that lit up the room.
I feel her try to pull my jacket off and blindly I try to take it off and toss it somewhere in the room before I grab her by the waist while my other hand cupped her cheek.
She guides us to the bed and I'm the first to sit, causing her to straddle my waist.
Allison's fingers tangle themselves in my hair, slightly tugging on the strands as I place my hands on her hips, momentarily feeling her exposed skin when the hem of her shirt rose up.
It was like my body was on fire. The feeling of her body melting into mine as our lips fit like two puzzle pieces finding each other made my head spin. It was almost as if we couldn't get enough of each other. Similar to finally giving in to a crave we both desired.
Unfortunately, all things must come to an end since she pulled away from my embrace. Her head was still pressed against mine but she lets out a shaky breath.
"I-I should shower."
"Okay," I mumbled. "I'm probably gonna sleep."
She unwrapped her arms around my neck and sits up from my lap to walk over to grab her shower necessities from her suitcase before going inside the bathroom.
She looks behind to me with a shy smile before shutting the door, leaving a bit of space so it wouldn't close all the way.
However, I couldn't help but have a goofy smile on my face as I slowly fell back to lay flat on the bed.
Suddenly life just got perfect.
