Five
Olivia's POV:
"She tried killing you and Scott?" She asks me and I nod, too ashamed to even speak.
I had driven us to the hilltop from when we held Jackson captive last time since she wanted to talk in private and was too shaken up to drive us.
"Why didn't Scott tell me? Why didn't you tell me?" She asks and she wipes her eyes.
"I was scared." I fiddle with my fingers. "How could I tell someone that their mom, who passed away, tried to kill me? I couldn't let your last memory of her be bad."
"I know she wasn't that best person out there, but...I just wish she didn't do what she did." She mumbles and looks out the window. "I don't know whether to be mad at her or feel upset that she's gone."
"You have every right to grieve. She's still your mom." I give a small smile. "Derek's just an asshole who wanted to have the last word."
"But some of the stuff--"
"It doesn't matter. What matters is how you're going to move on from it." I nudge her shoulder. "And knowing you, you want to still help so what's the plan?"
She gives a small smile and reaches to open the glove compartment. She pulls out a silver arrowhead which gleams from the small light the moon emitted.
"We're gonna catch them."
I start the car again and start driving back to where we drove in from. May I add, took awhile since I didn't exactly remember which way the road was.
"You see that?" She pointed at the small orange light that was coming up.
"Yeah. Should we go?" I say and she nods.
"It'll be a good start."
As we got closer, it became clearer that it was a campsite but with two girls a couple of feet away from each other. One was breathing heavily while the other slowly backed away.
Cora.
I press on the gas. "Brace yourself!" I shout and Allison covers her face.
Cora turns her head, showing her canines as soon as she saw us. I slam the car into her then she rolls across the floor and crashes into the tree.
"Check on the girl!" I order as Allison grabs her bow from the backseat. I scramble out of the car, but then see Cora push herself up from the ground.
"Cora, you have to remember me," I call out as she takes several steps towards me. "We were friends!"
She kicks me back, sending me to roll across the leaves on the ground. I grunt but painfully push myself off the floor.
"Remember on picture day when Sofia stuck gum in my hair as soon as it was my turn? To make sure I wasn't alone, you chewed a piece of gum and stuck it in your hair so we could act as if we matched on purpose." I continue as she walks closer to me. "She was one of those people who made us feel less about ourselves, but you made sure that she wouldn't mess with me again."
She extends her claws and takes several more steps towards me.
"Olivia, get out of there!" Allison yells out as she aims an arrow to her.
"Cora, please." I plead, but she swiftly slashes her claws on my leg, making me stumble so she could hold me to the floor. She lifts her hand in the air, almost ready to rip my throat out.
"Remember that night at my house when I knew I could trust you?" She stops her movements, leaving her hand up in the air still. "That was the night I came out to you. I-I told you that I trusted you more than anyone since you were my best friend."
Her eyes switch back to her normal doe brown eyes and I felt my hope starting to restore.
"At the time I remembered being terrified, because I didn't know if you would judge me for who I was. I was a crying mess," I laugh and notice her sideburns were starting to disappear into her normal features. "but the entire time you held me. You made it clear that you would be there for me no matter what would happen in the future. You became someone I knew that would be a part of my life. But when you left...I was devastated. I thought I would never see you again."
She drops her angered expression and lowers her hand slowly. "Olivia?"
I was about to respond until someone kicks her off of me, sending her further away from me. The figure kicks himself up and I realize it was Scott.
Cora snarls at him, her werewolf features instantly returning, but Derek and Isaac emerge from the shadows.
She looks at all of us, knowing that she was surrounded before taking off into the forest, her footsteps fading further away.
Scott tries to help me up, but I slap his hands away. "You idiots, I almost had her!" I yell, but Derek continued to sprint after her.
"From what I saw, it looked like she was ready to kill you," Scott argues.
I groan. "Just...go after her." Scott rolls his eyes and continues sprinting after where Derek chased Cora.
"Did she hurt you?" Isaac awkwardly speaks up. "Are you okay?"
"No. I'm okay," I mutter as I dust myself off. "Not the first time I faced something like that." I look up and see his concerned expression. "It's good to see you though."
He nods and glances back where they ran off before looking back at me. "I should...you know."
"Yeah."
"It was good seeing you too." He gives a small smile before sprinting towards where the boys ran to.
Yikes.
"Olivia," Allison runs up to me with her phone. "it's Stiles." She walks over to the driver's seat, most likely since she didn't want me pulling the same stunt again.
I walk over to the passenger's side as I answer the call. "Hello?"
"The person didn't create cellphones for someone not to answer, you know. Especially when it's an emergency!" Stiles sarcastically exclaims which causes me to roll my eyes.
I scoff. "I was a little busy, alright? Get to the point."
"I'm with Lydia at the pool and we think Cora and Boyd murdered an innocent."
I put the phone on the speaker since I wanted Allison to listen. "Are you sure?"
"Yup. Throat ripped out, blood everywhere. It's like the freaking shining over here. If two little twin girls come out of the woods and start asking me to play with them forever and ever, I'm not gonna be surprised." He rambles.
"Can you at least make sure it was them?" Allison asked.
"Who else is going around ripping their throats out?" Stiles sarcastically remarks.
"Just man up and check!" I raise my voice. "Or at least boy up."
"First of all, I am a—"
I hang up the phone before he could finish up his sentence and place the phone in the cupholder.
"It's impossible how they're running around for so long this fast," Allison says as she continues driving to where the boys followed Cora. "I'm starting to doubt that it's possible to catch them."
"We could ask for help?" I suggest, but she scoffs.
"I'm not gonna ask Derek for help." She retorts.
"No, we need professional help." I correct, seeing her start to clench the wheel tightly. "Where's your Dad?"
"He texted me earlier about getting groceries."
"Then change course and head to the grocery store. He might be able to help us and Scott."

Allison parks the car to the side and was about to unbuckle her seat belt, but I stop her. She narrows her eyes but I unbuckle my seat belt.
"I'll talk to him, you should go. I don't want you getting hurt from Cora and Boyd" I say and step out of the vehicle. "He'll start worrying about you and refuse to listen to what I have to say."
"I can protect myself, Olivia."
"I know you do, but you're not invincible," I say and she huffs. "Please, just stay out of this one for now. The next fight, I won't get in your way."
She nods reluctantly and turns off the ignition.
I walk over to where Argent was barely putting his groceries away in his trunk. I reach to tap his shoulder, but he instantly turns around, holding out a gun as if he was about to shoot.
I stumble a bit and he relaxes, putting the gun down to attach to his clip. "I could've killed you."
"Normally I would be pissed off, but...we need your help. It's about Boyd and Cora, Derek's sister." I say and he crosses his arms.
"First of all, why would I care about anyone related to Derek? And second, I don't know this kid Boyd. I don't even know his last name."
"Boyd is his last name."
"What's his first name?"
"Vernon, now can you help us or not?"
"Look, Olivia, I watched my father brainwash Allison. Almost turned her into a killer. That world, the whole supernatural world decimated mine. My wife, sister, father, my entire family...why would I ever step foot into it again?" He asks and takes a step closer to me.
"Because people are going to die if we don't stop them and you're the only person I know that knows how to catch them without killing them," I explain. "Please Mr. Argent, Cora and I were friends before. She can't control herself."
He shakes his head. "I'm sorry Olivia, I can't help you."
He turns to walk to his car, but I grab his arm. "Wait, can you do me a small favor then? Can you take me to the community pool that's near the Preserve? Stiles needed to talk to me."
He sighs and gestures for me to get in and I nod, quickly hopping to the passenger seat. He starts his ignition and starts to pull out from his parking spot, then continues to drive.
I look around the car and realize that Argent must have installed new windows from the last time I was in here.
"So..." I trail and point to the window. "new windows?"
"Had to replace them since someone shattered them." He says and I slowly sank in my seat. Yeah...he isn't giving me a gun any time soon.
We pull into the pool center and see the place flooded with cops and an ambulance. Argent never took his eyes away from the body bag getting rolled into the gurney, seeing how bad it actually was.
"Thanks, Mr. Argent. I'll be on my way." I say and try to unlock the door but he grabs my arm so I wouldn't move. Got him.
"They did this? Boyd and..." He trails.
"Cora." I finish and he looks at me.
"Where's the last place Scott saw them?"
