STILL IN FLASHBACK

Olivia's POV:

"They're one floor above them in the penthouse. Right above Allison." Derek continues.

"So, kill them first. That's the plan?" I scoff.

"They won't even see it coming," Boyd assures as if he was confident the plan would work.

"Why is the default plan always murder?" Scott retorts. "Just once, can someone try to come up with something that doesn't involve killing everyone?"

"You never get tired of being so blandly moral, do you?" Peter rolls his eyes in annoyance but then glances at Derek. "Not that I disagree with him."

"I do," Cora glares. "Olivia's powers are somewhat helpful, but why do we need this kid anyway?" Her eyes trail over to Scott with annoyance.

"This kid and Olivia helped save your life." Derek emphasizes but then turns to Scott and me I. "And you know we can't just sit back and wait for them to make the first move."

"You can't defeat a pack of alphas," Scott responds.

"That's why we're going after Deucalion," She says but then looks at me. "just him."

"Cut off the head of the snake and the body dies," Boyd added with a smirk.

"Only this isn't a snake, it's a hydra." I retort, looking over at everyone else.

"And as Scott says, they're all alphas," Peter adds.

"Deucalion's still the leader." Derek crossed his arms.

"Do you want to know what happened when Hercules cut off one of the heads of the Hydra?" I glare. "Two more grew back in its place."

Peter looks at me with an amused expression. "Somebody's been doing their summer reading."

END

I lift my shirt up slightly, cringing at the sight of the deep slash marks that still bled through my shirt.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the only injury. There was one on my back and my thighs, but they weren't as terrible as the one on my abdomen.

"So is that whole 'not letting her out of your sight' thing and 'wanting her to make sure the boys were okay' literal or more like a general rule?" Lydia asks as she read her textbook.

"Why?"

"You're running on fumes," She sighed and my heart dropped. "And I'm pretty sure that bus holds a lot more gas than this Toyota."

"What if we stop?"

"Is it really that big of a deal?" She scoffed. "I mean, so we lose them. We know where they're headed."

From the mirror, I could see Allison bite her lip as she shook her head. "You didn't see what happened," She mumbled.

"Well, I know who started it," Lydia mutters and I roll my eyes. I was not in the mood for their bickering.

"Is that what Aiden told you?" Allison retorted, still keeping her attention on the road.

"Aiden?" Lydia raised her eyebrows before waving her hand around. "Woah, Woah, Woah. Hold on a second. Is that why you invited me to this whole little road trip thing?" Allison stays quiet and Lydia softly chuckled. "Oh, my gosh. You're keeping an eye on them and me."

"So- there's nothing going on between you two?"

She gasped, placing a hand over her heart. "I'm appalled by the insinuation."

"Nothing?"

She shrugged. "Nothing." Liar.

The feeling of nausea started to stir in my stomach and the temperature inside the car felt like the sun was next to our vehicle. As Allison slowed down her car due to the traffic ahead of us, I grunt out loud by accident which causes the two girls to turn to me.

I quickly cover the wound with my sweater and let out a small yawn.

"Are we almost there yet?" I grumble, holding on to my head since a headache was starting to form.

"Nope." Lydia deadpanned as she faced forward again. "but this car won't make it if we're gonna be stuck in traffic."

Allison worriedly eyes me and I lift my hand to give a thumbs up with a fake smile. She warily eyes my side that I covered with my sweater before she faced the road again.

Lydia's phone starts ringing and I cover my ears with my hands due to the noise it blared. I mean for them it didn't seem to be a bother, but for me, it felt like torture.

"Hey, Stiles!" Lydia's squeaked. "Yeah, we're just about to walk into a movie. You know, the popcorn and--okay." She places the phone in the middle and connects the aux cord.

"Okay look- Scott's still hurt." Stiles's voice rings in the car, causing me to groan in pain. My vision was beginning to blur and it felt as if I was losing oxygen by the minute.

"What do you mean still?" Allison furrowed her eyebrows. "He's not healing?"

"No, he's not healing. I think it's actually getting worse. The blood is turning like a black color."

"What's wrong with him?" Lydia questioned.

"What's wrong with him?" He scoffed. "Do I have a Ph.D. in lycanthropy? How am I supposed to know that?"

"We need to get him off the bus," Allison says but Lydia scoffed.

"And take him where?" She countered. "A hospital?"

"If he's dying, yeah," Allison stated then glanced at me, her eyes widening as soon as she locked eyes with me. "Oh my god, Olivia."

"What?" I rasp and look down. Even with the jacket covering my side, the black liquid had seeped through the clothing and managed to trail down to my pants. "It's not as ba--" A shot of pain strikes at my stomach, causing me to groan again.

"What's happening?"

"Stiles, there's a rest area about a mile up. Tell the coach to pull over." Allison ordered, handing her sweater over to me so I could rest my head against the window.

"Yeah, I've been trying."

"Well, reason with him."

"Reason?" Stiles slightly raises his voice. "Have you met this guy?"

I couldn't take it anymore at this point. My head was pounding like a damn drum and I felt like I was going to puke at any second.

I snatch the phone from Lydia's hand. "Stiles, you better figure out a way or so help me god, I will destroy your Jeep until it can be barely used for spare parts and you'll be having to take the bus." I snapped and hand the phone back to Lydia.

"I-I'll see what I can do."

FLASHBACK

I finish tying the laces in my combat boots then slide in the Chinese daggers that Allison had given me a while back in my boots.

I slide on my jacket then grab my keys from the bed. As soon as I turn, Isaac was leaning against the door frame of my room.

"Jesus Christ Isaac," I groan. "I could've had a heart attack."

He eyes the keys in my hands. "Where are you going?"

"I...was gonna get some food." I lie and he nods.

"Cool, I'll come with." He shrugs.

"I like eating alone."

"What are you getting?"

"Mexican food," I say but it sounded more like a question.

"Dude, I love Mexican, let's go." He gestures but I grab his wrist.

"Isaac," He turns to me. "I can eat alone. I've done it before, it's okay."

He shakes his head. "You're not going alone."

The somewhat long drive to the abandoned mall that Scott was supposed to meet Deucalion, it was completely silent between Isaac and I. I mean, what could we really talk about?

I park outside of the abandoned mall and see Scott barely pull up with his bike. He slides off his helmet with a small smile.

"I shouldn't be surprised you came" Scott chuckles.

The three of us walk inside, our footsteps echoing throughout the building with each step.

"We're just going to talk to him. Try to reason with him." He explained but then glances at Isaac who didn't say a word. "What?"

"Nothing, it's just that I'm kind of hungry now," Isaac replies and I pat his back.

"Me too," I mumble.

As we walk closer to the escalators, the figure that stood in the middle turned out to be Deucalion.

"You didn't come alone," Deucalion spoke.

"Yeah." Scott gestures to Isaac and I. "This is Isaac and I'm pretty sure you met Olivia already."

"I'm not talking about them." He retorted.

I hear footsteps behind me and see Derek walk up to us, already shifted with a glare as he stared at Deucalion. In addition, Cora and Boyd, who were shifted as well, stood behind Derek in the shadows.

"You knew I would do this," Scott says as if he betrayed him.

"Derek, don't." I try to stop him but he pushes past me. "You can't do this and expect nobody else to get hurt. If someone else dies--"

"Him." He lowly interrupts me and points to Deucalion. "Just him."

"Just me?" Deucalion shrugs casually. "Now, how's a blind man find his way into a place like this all on his own?"

That's when I knew, he wasn't alone.

Unfortunately, I was right because the next thing I knew, someone on the left was sliding down on the concrete columns with their claws extended that made a scratch sound.

She hops down a couple of feet away from Isaac and my eyes trail to her feet. They were sharp like her claws and she smirked, seeing that I was already terrified of her.

So that's Kali.

On my right, Ennis walks up from the broken escalator from a floor below us then Cora and Boyd walk closer to where I stood.

"Great." Isaac mutters, looking up at the floor above us.

I follow his gaze and see the shirtless twins already staring down at us.

I pull the Chinese ring daggers out of my boots and grip them tightly in my hands.

Tonight was going to be messy.
