Chapter 6
Little note here :) -The song chosen relates to both chapters 6 and 7
Head down and feet moving at an unfamiliar pace, Missouri couldn't prevent paranoia from creeping up on her. She constantly turned her attention to the slightest sounds that assaulted her ears often finding that it was simply the wind or an animal. Maybe she really should have let the angel do this, but then again she was hunted not dead! She could do this! She didn't live that far; all she had to do now was make a right at the end of this street and her house would be in sight.
"My. My. Aren't you a pretty thing?" Missouri halted to a stop, everything in her screaming for her to not look up, but she did, slowly and her mouth suddenly went dry.
A man who shared familiar features to that of the man who pursued her before, but this time, this man didn't hide his red eyes from her nor his teeth which he bared like fangs.
"Demon." She breathed under her breath and slowly began to back away, he covered the distance with one quick stride, and with hands that seemed to not move at all, gripped Missouri's hair at the back of her neck causing her to gasp in pain.
With a swift movement he twisted his arm and she was thrown on deadly pavement. Missouri let out a cry as she half rose up and clenched the arm that was gifted with the majority of pain, using her legs to push herself further away from the demon walking predator like towards her.
"I may not have the pleasure of killing you, but I was informed to use- as much force as needed." the corners of his mouth raised upwards into a menacing smile while his eyes grew bigger and glowed a brighter red.
"You little bitch!" He spat, and he had the nerve to look as if he had been the victim, he towered over her now. "You are responsible for two of my brothers' death; I will enjoy hearing you scream for your life."
Missouri would have replied but the pain she felt inhibited all of her actions, she couldn't think nor speak, she didn't even have the action of screaming! Her eyes were blurred and blood shut.
More sensing then seeing, Missouri was aware of a shadow planting itself between her and her assailant, but wasn't sure what it was, for all she knew, more demons were about to kidnap her as it was all her fault! if she hadn't been so head strong about coming here on her own then she would be safe from the hands of sleep drawing her in deeply, her eyes filled with tears and she exhaled deeply, completely closing her eyes to the comfort of unconsciousness.
