Chapter 11

Satael paced and paced inside of Hadriel's room, at five second intervals he would gaze anxiously at the door, until two hours later it finally opened. Hadriel's head was down cast, he was so unlike himself, normally he would instantly be aware that there was someone in his chambers, but this imposter had the gall to appear surprised at the sight of Satael.

"What are doing in here?" Hadriel's tone was neutral, he really hadn't expected to have visitors into his personal space, Satael may be his closest friend, after all they fought endless battles with each other but he was slowly feeling his anger boil to hazardous levels, he just needed to be at peace for a while, before he saw her again.

"Where were you?" Satael inquired, they were supposed to patrol the last location of the demons, in case any others went back, but Hadriel left without contact and he was left to go with Leo, leaving the Cathedral barely under protection. Muriel was an excellent warrior but even she would be unable to fight back an army.

"The Council wanted to see me." Hadriel seemed bored but really he was anxious, for reasons he himself didn't know; nor did he plan to further assess them.

"The Council?" Satael was taken aback.

"Yes Council, that group of self-righteous imbeciles that have the nerve to call themselves the best of Heaven." Hadriel was bitter, he was an angel and his duty was to serve the Council but that didn't mean that he had to worship the air they flew in! Don't think him harsh or his behaviour unwarranted, he hardly ever liked anyone at all!

"You could get in trouble with opinions as such." Satael commented quietly and Hadriel knew he was vexed, and it was justifiable, if the Council even heard talk of possible rebellion then there would be trouble and not only to Hadriel but on his angels as well, not that all was punished for the crimes of others but they would be given a choice and it was plain as the seven heavens that his angels would stick with him, that was the extent of loyalty they possessed.

"Then I should keep them to myself then." He walked closer to where Satael was standing.

"What did they want?" Satael questioned.

"To have an update on the girl." Hadriel stated matter of factly, one of his eyebrows rising to indicate if there were any more questions.

"I wonder why she is so important; I haven't seen anything to suggest a reason for her presence." Satael raked his brains. Hadriel remembered the night they were captured, the dead demons, his chains snapping free and wanted to explain to Satael but what came out instead was, 'Me neither, maybe they made a mistake."
