November 23 2031

Alex was at the Manor as he washed the blood off his hands and looked at his reflection in the mirror as he was still in shock by everything that has happened. When the mutants took over the restaurant, they were gonna kill everyone but Ambrose convinced them that he will give all of them the money so that the mutants can leave them alone, to which the mutants agreed on the deal.

However when Alex was gonna give the money to them, he heard voices in his head, Ambrose knew that even after the mutants get the money, they would still kill them. However when he gave the money, his mind went blank and a sudden surge of rage began coursing through his veins to which he brutally beat up the mutants to the point, they ran away in fear that Ambrose was gonna kill them.

Even though, he was close to killing them.

Alex sighed to himself and splashed water on his face again as he looked at his reflection in the mirror but instead he saw something else.

????: SET ME FREE!!!!

Alex stepped back in fear, his eyes widen in horror and terror. He saw the figure in the mirror was gone and once again saw his own reflection. He sighed to himself and covered his face with his hands as he was thinking about what just happened.

The Bat Monster, he always kept seeing in his nightmares, protecting him were created when he was with his biological parents, Margaret and Andrew, they would always torment him and his sister, Mia. He was always scared of bats and that's what his mother did to him, always locking him in a basement filled with bats inside cages and all he can do was sit in the corner, cowering while the bats just scream at him.

That's when he first saw the Bat monster in his dreams, instead of scaring him, it would protect him and save him from any monster that tries to hurt him.

However after the death of his parents and sister, he was adopted by Steven and Laura Ambrose, he would still see that monster in his dreams, but soon he continued seeing that monster appear in front of him or sometimes it would watch him.

He knew deep down, that monster was created by him, because of the trauma he had endured through his whole life. When Margaret and Andrew continously torment him and his sister with no remorse, a dark passenger was born inside Alex. It represented fear, justice and vengeance.

He tried his best to destroy his dark passenger after retiring but it always tries to crawl its way out, screaming at him to set him free and destroy the evil root of crime and corruption.

Alex sighed to himself and left the bathroom as he sat down on the couch while looking at the window as he saw the snowstorm happening around the city. He was still in deep thoughts by everything that has happened. Alex looked at the ground, still in deep thoughts until those thoughts faded away when he heard rapid knocking on the main door.

Alex was confused and looked at the time on the clock as it was eleven twenty nine p.m. Who would come at this time? Plus there was a snowstorm happening and the city has advised everyone to stay indoors until the storm was over.

The knocking once again was heard on the main door, this time it was heavy and he heard someone shouting at the door. Ambrose was now worried as he immediately got up and ran towards the door as he opened the door and saw who it was.

It was Sabrina Carpenter, her face was filled with worried and fear, something had happened.

Alex: Who are you?

Sabrina: Are you Jim!?

Alex: What do you want?

Sabrina: Please Jim! You have to come with me to the hospital now!

Alex was worried and wondered what happened, he asked her what was the matter until she said something which made his heart drop, like his whole world once again crashed yet again.

Sabrina:. . . . . Lexi, she's at the hospital. . . . . .

He heard Sabrina saying something to him but Alex couldn't hear it, he was in shock, the world around him started to fade away, his heart was beating fast and he felt his right hand shaking.

Alex was standing still in silence until Sabrina said something to him.

Sabrina: Please! You need to come to Gotham General! Please!

Alex looked at her as he was silent and still trying to process what he heard until he immediately ran towards his car and opened the door. Sabrina also got inside the car and Ambrose started the vehicle before he stepped on the accelerator and began driving through the streets at full speed.

Fifteen minutes later, Sabrina and Alex were on the third floor as they saw Aaron comforting a crying Jennifer while Sabrina ran towards her friend and hugged her.

When Alex saw them, it reminded him of when he lost Steven, Laura and Chloe and he was at the police department. He could never forget that memory of him crying when he lost them and the police officers just looked at him with a sympathetic look on their face, despite this the officers tried their best to calm him down, help him and even asked him questions about who was responsible but nothing worked.

That was until William entered the police station and ran towards Alex, hugging him while Alex just hugged him back and cried even louder with more tears falling from his eyes while William was heartbroken and continued hugging.

A small tear fell from Alex's eye as he slowly walked towards the door and opened it as he was inside the room.

Lexi was in the hospital bed, a large bandage was wrapped around her forehead and she was unconscious. Alex felt his heart drop even more seeing her as he slowly walked towards her and sat down on the chair while staring at her. The heart beat monitor was heard as it echoed around the room while Alex sat in silence and was holding Lexi's hand.

Tears fell from Alex's eyes as he closed his eyes and continued holding her hand. He should have been there for her, he should have protected her but he failed her.

Why is this world so cruel to everyone?

Why does it always take away the people he loves and cares the most?

Alex put her hand on his forehead as more tears fell from his eyes as he felt guilty for not being there for her.

Alex was staring at her until he heard a conversation happening outside the room. He got up from the seat and looked through the window as he saw Anne, Benjamin, Daikon and Caleb talking to Jennifer, Sabrina and Aaron as he heard everything that they said.

Anne: Jennifer, I'm sorry for what happened. . . . . . .

Benjamin: Those monsters. . . . . . . They not only hit her in the head with the baseball bat but they also stabbed her multiple times in the gut.

After hearing that, Alex's eyes were widen in shock as he gritted his teeth and slammed his fist on the wall, causing a small dent as he heard something.

Daikon: Those bastards. . . . . They took advantage of the storm and not only robbed her house but did the same to other houses and even tried to murder them.

Caleb: No more. . . . . . They're going too far now. . . . . We're gonna take them down.

Jennifer was silent as the team told her that the mutants will be arrested. Soon the team saw more officers walking towards them and spoke to them as Ambrose heard something.

The officers mentioned that after Skylar dropped Lexi back to her house, Dolecki went to the police station to check up on Caleb, leaving Kaufman alone at her house. There was no one else in the house since Jennifer was with Sabrina and Aaron at Carpenters house doing a group study and even planned to stay there for a day till the storm was over.

When the mutants escaped from Lexi's house after the robbery, Jennifer tried calling Lexi multiple times but there was no response, she was worried and told her friends that they will head to her house to check up on her. When they made it there, the sight scared them to which Sabrina managed to get a signal to call the ambulance before she went to look for Alex because she couldn't call him due to the signal interference from the storm.

As Alex was looking at them and heard their conversation, his eyes darkened and he closed both of his fists as rage began coursing through his veins.

Fifteen minutes later

Alex was at the Manor as he was holding his forehead, feeling guilty about everything that has happened. Suddenly he heard someone speaking to him which caused him to immediately get up from his seat.

???: You try to hold me back, but you're weak.

Alex: No. . . . . No. . . .

???: You know it in your soul.

Alex: Stop it! Stop it!

He immediately ran towards the balcony and pushed the large statue as he fell on his knees and looked at the city as he saw lightning flashing in the sky and more snow began to fall.

???: You're nothing but a hollow shell. A rusty trap.

Alex began remembering everything that has happened in his life, all the loved ones he has lost and more tears fell from his eyes as he slammed his fist on the ground and looked at the ground, thinking about everything that has happened.

However he slowly got up and walked back inside the Manor as he looked at his reflection and his face was filled with vengeance, rage coursing through his veins and his eyes darkened.

???: The time has come.

Alex heard a sound as he saw something flying towards the window as he continued staring at it until he saw what it was.

One hour later

It was now November 24 2031, the snowstorm continued to get worse. There was a man holding groceries in his hands as he was walking through the streets until someone grabbed the man which shocked and terrified him before he was pulled back to a alleyway.

Mutant: Let's tear you apart and paint these walls red. [Laughs]

He pulled out a knife as the civilian was shocked and scared while the mutant laughed at him until. . . . .

Someone broke through the window and grabbed the mutant's hand which shocked him before he pulled the hostile towards the darkness as he was screaming in terror while the civilian stood back in fear.

The civilians heard the mutant's screams getting louder as he also heard someone attacking the hostile and suddenly a sound of a bone snapping was heard which made the mutant scream even louder until silence was heard.

Five minutes have passed and there was a mutant who stole a car and was about to drive away until something landed on top of the car which confused him.

Mutant: What was that?

He rolled down the window and pointed his gun on the roof until someone stomped on his hand, breaking it as the mutant was screaming in pain until someone ripped the roof of the car and dragged the hostile outside.

The mutant was scared and saw the man glaring at him until he noticed a police car driving through the streets until he threw the mutant towards the moving police car, causing the vehicle to stop as the officer immediately exited the vehicle and saw the mutant who was badly injured and was in pain.

Soon many criminals and mutants around the city were violently beaten up by a mysterious assailant and he even paralysed some of them.

Witnesses who saw what was happening told the officers that the assistant came from the shadows and attacked them, they even mentioned that the assailant had wings and even had glowing eyes.

Soon the news began to spread like wildfire and many hospitals have been filled with many patients who were criminals and mutants who suffered multiple fractures, some lost all their teeth, some were stabbed in the hand while others were paralysed.

Meanwhile there was a abandoned warehouse where there were some mutants hiding and were talking to each other but they were unaware that someone jumped towards the roof of the building while lightning flashed in the sky.

The mutants heard a sound as they pulled out their weapons and began walking around the warehouse but unknown to them as lightning flashed in the sky, someone was standing behind the hostiles as he was holding something in his hands.

The assailant had combatant suppression knuckles on both of his hands and electricity sparked from the knuckles as he was slowly walking towards the hostiles who were unaware that he was standing behind them.

One mutant heard footsteps as he turned around until someone punched the hostile in the throat and face multiple times before he slammed him on the ground and broke his leg as he was screaming in pain before he punched him in the face, knocking him out.

They heard the sound as the mutants immediately turned around and once lightning flashed in the sky as they saw who it was.

Alex was glaring at the mutants while holding the combatant suppression knuckles as the mutants were shocked and tried to attack him until Ambrose began fighting the hostiles.

Alex hit a powerful combo strikes on one mutant before he hit a leg sweep and hit a stomp, breaking his nose as he screamed in pain before Ambrose punched him in the face and hit a powerful front kick to another hostile, sending him flying towards the table, breaking it.

Alex took down six mutants using the combatant suppression knuckles as there was only one hostile left as he was scared and dropped the gun and the hostile said something to him.

Mutant: Don't do this! Please let me go!

Ambrose hit a series of strikes on the mutant as he was in pain until the vigilante hit spinning back kick, sending him flying towards the wall and creating a dent as the mutant was knocked out.

The warehouse was empty as Alex was breathing heavily until he let out a scream as lightning flashed in the sky and his scream echoed around the city.
