"What do you mean she's gone?"
"I mean she left, Nico. She went and left you and the baby."
I watched as that snake lied to my husband. He was sitting down on one of the dining room chairs and cradling our baby girl, Imani, in his arms. I hated the fact that I couldn't reach out to him and tell him what she had done to me and tell him that I was still there. I wish I could hold my child and see her look up at me with her little brown eyes.
"Why, though? Why would she leave?" he asked. His accent was thick with Spanish descent. I remember meeting him. He would talk to me in his native tongue without even knowing it. His family had a harder time trying to talk in English. I laughed it off and made it a vow to learn Spanish. I was doing really well until Sandra decided to murder.
Speaking of, the she-devil went up to my husband and began to rub his shoulders. I couldn't hear what she was saying to him since she was whispering in his ear, but I knew it was some of the manipulative stuff she would spout.
"Maybe we can try calling her. Maybe this is all one big misunderstanding." Nico said as he stood up. He placed Imani in her car seat and went to grab a drink.
"It's no use, Nico. From what I saw, she wanted to make sure no one would reach out to her. But don't worry. She may be gone, but I'm still here."
I gritted my teeth as I was being forced to listen to this bullshit. She sounds so innocent. If she was this good at acting, who knows what else she's done?
I walked over to look at my daughter. She was nibbling on her tiny little fist when she looked up at me. She smiled and reached out to me, expecting me to hold her.
You can see me, can't you, love? Don't worry. Mommy will come back and be able to hold you again.
I looked back up to Sandra feeding Nico her lies and touching on him. She would rub on his shoulders or his chest while he sat there will saddened eyes.
And you will reap what you have sown, bitch.
