'Demi, wake up.' A voice says next to me, shaking me awake. With my eyes half pressed together, Quin appears into my eye sight. I let out a little moan, and bury my head into my pillow again. The door of my apartment is standing open, so that makes it extra cold here. 'Come on. We have to make food for today. But actually most important; the new initiates might come in a couple hours!' Quin says excited. I sit up, and smile. Quin has been too excited for the last couple of days. She always has been the type who wants to show people how it's done here. Now were officially Dauntless, she of course can't wait for the other initiates to becomes just like us. I smile at her excitement, and stand up. 'Okay, fine then.' I mumble, with a little smile. Today could also be the day we meet new people.

After I, Quin, Josh and a couple others from the kitchen finished making the tables ready in the canteen, we just stand there and talk to each other. First all the Dauntless will walk in, and the Choosing Ceremony will start just that time. It won't take long before they are here, actually. 

Exactly right on time, Quin and I slowly start to walk over to the Pit. People will be there most likely when the initiates arrive. After that, we most likely will go eat. I cross my arms. Something feels cold, I only don't know what it is. It makes me deadly uncomfortable, so I decide to start to talk to Quin. I have to take my mind off weird thoughts. ''So... I heard you like Keith. Well... I've seen it.'' I smile at her. Quin looks at me with big eyes. ''Wait, what, no!'' She says. I giggle. ''Admit.'' I smile. Quin rolls her eyes, but giggles. ''Okay... Fine then.'' She laughs. I shake my head laughing. ''So you are over Blaise?'' I ask, almost shocked about it. Quin looks at me with big eyes. ''No. No, of course not! He will always stay in my heart.'' Quin says, pointing at her heart. I smile. ''That is adorable.'' I spit out. Quin giggles. ''I'm guessing you miss Cam too.'' She says. My smile disappears. ''Of course.'' I say. I think about him again. I see how he collapsed in front of me. God, it looked awful. I shake the thought off, before my tears come up again.

Loud music starts playing in the Pit. I ask myself where Nadine is. I haven't seen her in days. Actually... I don't really care. Because now, I can't forgive her for what she has done. She shot our best friend. I mean, was she out of her mind?! I watch two boys who are fighting each other off, friendly. Until someone walks up to me. Carrie.
"Hey you guys." She says, with a blonde boy walking behind her. "Who is this?" Quin asks. Carrie looks at him and then back at us. "Oh, this is Mason. He is a friend of mine, who was in the same initiate group as me." Carrie explains. Mason waves at us and smiles. "Hi." He says. Quin and I both smile and say hi too. Mason is small. I have to be careful that I won't confuse him with a kid. What could be difficult. He may be seventeen too, but he is small for his age.

A quarter later, after introducing ourselves and talking to Mason, I notice figures above the Pit. I throw a glance, and only notice Four. Hmm. I expected my brother Rob also to join Dauntless. He is perfect for it. Guess not. I do notice some yellow clothing. They are people I have seen at Amity, and sometimes I have talked to them. Only I don't know them personally. Then suddenly, I notice one in grey clothing. Abnegation. And it's a girl. I thought only males from Abnegation dared to join Dauntless. Guess not. Had she known Calvin? I don't know. Maybe they one time talked. Or just looked at each other in the streets. I shake my head. Time to go to the canteen.
