CHAPTER TWO: PLAYING WITH RIVALS

March 27, 2003

  It’s a few days later, and Charlie was on a date with BG6 member, Kelsey. So far, the rivalry between No Rules and BG6 has cooled off, but there’s still hostility simmering. Still, Charlie and Kelsey had to remain being ‘secret lovers.’

 Charsey (Charlie/Kelsey) are at a movie theatre. As they were watching the movie, Charlie felt bored and restless. Kelsey noticed this, so she asked, “Charlie, what’s wrong?”

  He replied to her coldly, “This movie is rubbish.”

  “And you were the one who chose this movie.”

  “I chose it for you.”

 Kelsey, feeling irritated, drags Conner out of the movie, and into the lobby. She said to him, “Okay, what’s going on?”

  Charlie gave a bored question, “What do you mean?”

  “I mean, you act like you don’t love me anymore.”

 Then he said to her smugly, “You’re right, I don’t anymore.”

 She asked him angrily, “What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?”

 “Please, I only dated you for the thrill of having forbidden relationship. See, I’m a player. Now, I don’t have much time to chase a bunch of girls cuz I’m in No Rules. But I’m up for a challenge just to piss off the No Rulers.”

  Kelsey’s jaw dropped in anger, and she immediately slapped his face. She then said, “I’m glad we never hooked up.”

  Then Kelsey left the movie theatre, leaving Charlie feeling satisfied.

 An hour later, Kelsey was in her room at the BG6 house. The members didn’t know what was going on. Hannah T said, “I’ll go talk to her.”

  So she went into Kelsey’s room. She found her crying.

 About thirty minutes later, Hannah T. came out of Kelsey’s room, looking infuriated. Tina asked, “What happened?”

  Hannah T. replied sternly, “Call No Rules.”

  At the same time, NR were at their house. A while ago, they noticed that Charlie looked very smug. The NR members weren’t sure what was going on, but they left him alone.

  As Edward was on his laptop, he’s cell phone was ringing. He answered it, “Who is this?”

  It was Hannah T. of BG6. He asked her, “Why are you calling?”

  “It’s Charlie.”

  “What did he do now?”

  “He broke up with Kelsey.”

  “He what?”

  “Yeah, he did! Kelsey told me that Charlie told her that he only dated her for the so-called ‘thrill’ of a secret relationship.”

  Edward was silent for a moment. He couldn’t believe what he heard. Then he told her, “I’ll deal with him.”

  “You’d better, or else.”

  With that, Hannah T. hung up. Edward got up from his desk, gathered all the NR members, and made Charlie sit on the couch.

  Alex asked in a irritated tone, “So why are we gathered around Declan? Again?”

  Charlie said, “For once, Walsh has a point.”

  Alex gave Charlie a glare. Then Edward said, “We’re here cuz I got a call from Hannah of BG6. She told me that Charlie dumped Kelsey, and that you only dated her for the supposed ‘thrill’ of a secret relationship.”

  The other members were shocked when they heard that. As for Charlie, he was apparently smug.

  Ashley said to him angrily, “Charlie, how can you act so proud of what you’ve done? You know we’re on thin ice with BG6? They barely like us.”

  Charlie asked in an irritated tone, “So, what are you gonna do to me?”

  Edward told him, “You’re gonna go back with Kelsey, and tell that you made mistake.”

  Ashley scoffed, “Like that’s gonna be simple. She may or may not forgive Charlie. If she does, then great. If she doesn’t, then we’re screwed.”

  Charlie reluctantly said, “Fine, I’ll get back with her.”

 So Charlie got up, and left the NR house. He texted Kelsey that he wanted to meet with her at a nearby teashop. He waited for about fifteen minutes. Then Hannah T. of BG6 entered the teashop.

  He saw her, so he asked, “Hannah, what’s going on?”

  She replied, “Kelsey sent me here to tell she doesn’t want to speak to you, like, ever.”

  Charlie silent for a moment, then he spoke up, “You know, I actually gained an interest in you.”

   Hannah was silent.

  A few days later, Mariana entered her room that she shared with Hannah W. She noticed that Hannah W’s jaw was dropped as she was looking at the screen of her laptop.

  She asked, “Hannah, are you okay?”

  She showed Mariana what she saw. It was a picture of Charlie and Hannah T. kissing! Mariana then gathered Edward and Ashley together, and showed them the picture. They were just as shocked, so they barged into Charlie’s room.

  Edward asked angrily, “What the f*ck were you thinking?”

  He responded in a bored tone, “What’d I do now?”

  Ashley yelled, “You snogging BG6’s Hannah!”

  Charlie replied smugly, “Hey, I’m doing you lot a favour.”

  Edward asked, “How?”

 Charlie explained, “Since I’m with Hannah, the competition between us and BG6 can relax. Somewhat.”

  Edward and Ashley looked at each other, then they faced Charlie. Ashley said to him, “You’re sure you know what you’re doing?”

  “I am. Just trust me.”

  “We stopped trusting you since the day No Rules was formed.”

  Edward said, “If you screw this up again, then you’ll get your arse beaten by both BG6 and NR!”

  Then the couple left Charlie’s room in a huff.
