Chapter 36:

"You looked like you were having fun, Princess." Jake said, running his hands over his face. His bloodshot eyes traced my body and made me feel dirty. I needed a shower just from the way he was looking at me.

"Have you seen Ezra?" I asked him, looking around for his dark hair in the crowd. I didn't see him anywhere and it wasn't like him to disappear far from me.

"Ah, he's somewhere. Ezra is a busy man. He likes to get around. He's probably off giving it to some poor girl right now. He's slept with like half the girls here. In fact, he even spent two weeks fucking the shit out of Amber. He probably went off to have another go at her." Jake said, smiling.

I sat there, silently biting my tongue. Jake was trying to push me and it was working. The heat was rising in my body as I tried to keep my temper under control.

"Aw, you look tense. Want a drink, princess?" Jake asked, trying to hand me a glass. I looked down and remembered Ezra's warning from earlier. This glass was not going to go anywhere near my lips.

"Nope, I'm good," I said, pushing the cup away.

Jake laughed and placed the cup back down in front of me. "In case you change your mind."

I felt pressure on the couch behind me and relief flooded through me. I turned back around and Milo and Austin were behind me on the couch, flanking me on both sides. My heart dropped when I realized Ezra was not with them.

"Riley," Mandy said nervously. I could tell she could feel a shift in the room too. "Let's go dance again." She suggested.

"Yeah, Princess, come dance with me." Jake said, pulling his mouth up the same way as Ezra did when he was thinking something wicked. When Ezra did it, it ignited a fire inside me. Jake's smile made me uncomfortable and cold. It was amazing how similar the smiles were, but how they affected me in different ways.

Jake jumped up off the couch and stood in front of me, pushing his stomach close to my mouth. I swallowed when I looked up and saw the evil gleam in his eyes. Milo and Austin were laughing hysterically behind me.

"Jake, leave her alone. She's Ezra's girl. You know she's off-limits." Mandy said, trying to sound strong as she tried to stand up to her bastard of a brother.

"Don't worry, Mandy, I'll take care of Riley. We're just going to dance." He looked over and smiled. He moved his hand to my chin and I turned my head away from him. He pulled my arms up and I could feel too many hands pushing at me from behind. Milo and Austin lifted me up until I was standing in Jake's arms. Milo and Austin were rolling with laughter as I struggled against Jake, trying to break free.

Jake grabbed my hips and pulled them to him. He began forcing my body side to side so that I was rubbing against him. He was so disgusting as he looked down to where he was trying to press against me. I kept pushing at him to let go of me and it seemed to make him try that much harder.

"Don't touch me." I yelled, hitting his chest. Mandy started to cry from the couch as she watched him move his hands to places they shouldn't be. Her sobs cut through the blaring music.

"Shut the fuck up, Mandy." Jake screamed over at her. Jake was a jackass, just like his Dad said. I understood why no one seemed to like him. Not even his family.

"Move those hips. Don't be a tease." He pushed against me and moaned.

A hand grabbed my wrist and I prayed it was Ezra. I looked up to see Milo turn me around from Jake and he began to move to take his turn. Austin was up on his feet right behind him and Milo pushed me to him. I was caught between the three of them, each taking their turns spinning me around to torture me.

Jake pulled me back to him and had the drink he offered me in his hand. He tried to pry open my mouth and pour it in. I spit the fluid out, not letting a single drop go down my throat.

"You're a very rude girl, Princess. I guess Ezra hasn't taught you how to behave yet." Jake said, laughing and pulling me back to him. "It's fine. I can teach you how a woman should treat a man."

"Stop it, Jake." Mandy was on her feet and went after her brother. Austin grabbed her and held her in place as she fought against him, trying to get to me.

I felt a sharp sting and the blood rush to my backside. Jake had pulled his arm back and hit me hard and then squeezed the skin and wiggled it in his hand. I cried out from the unwanted contact.

"Now that is an ass. Milo, Austin, get over here and get in on this."

"What the fuck, Jake?" Ezra yelled from somewhere behind Mandy.

"We are just dancing." Jake stopped and sneered at him. "Your girl can move. I bet she is a wicked fuck."

"Back off, Jake, I'm not going to tell you again." Ezra's tone was dark and flat. I turned to him and saw his eyes had turned almost black as he was staring his cousin down. His fists were clenched at his sides and he was ready to swing any second. I looked to the side of him and saw Milo moving behind him.

"Ezra!" I screamed when Milo's fist pulled back and smashed into the side of his face. Ezra didn't have a chance to even block him. I tried to go to him, but Jake kept his arms wrapped tightly around me. He pinned my arms to my sides so I couldn't swing at him. Ezra was on the floor and bleeding from his mouth. He looked up, spitting blood on the floor and used his arm to wipe it from his face.

Jake was laughing hysterically as I fought against him. Ezra moved to stand up again and Milo kicked him in the ribs knocking the wind out of him. He crumbled to the floor, holding his rib cage.

I was completely powerless to help him. Jake was just too strong.

"See, princess, your boyfriend is a little bitch. You should feel what a real man is like." He whispered in my ear.

"Ezra." I whimpered and he looked up at me, trying to find the strength to stand. He began pulling himself up again when Milo slammed his fist into his jaw. Ezra collapsed to the floor; he was out cold.

"Let me go, you psycho!" I screamed, trying to kick Jake.

"Shh." Jake said, running his hand through my hair. "I will take care of you tonight."

"There's no way I would let you touch me." I spat at him as I continued to fight.

"Your man owes me. He can share you for a night. He can have you back in the morning when I am done with you. See, your man fucked with me when he told my Dad I was dealing. It's time he learned his lesson for opening his fucking mouth. He fucks with me. I fuck his girl. Sounds fair to me."

"He didn't tell Dad! He would have never ratted you out." Mandy yelled at her brother.

"Then who?" Jake asked. "He was one of the only people who knew."

"I did it, asshole. I told Dad." Mandy screamed.

Jake's arms dropped from me in shock and I took the opportunity to run over to Ezra. Milo and Austin looked down at him in disbelief and then back over to Jake, not sure what they should do. Mandy stood up and placed her hands on her hips and stared her brother down.

"You told him?" Jake asked, staring at his sister with wide eyes. He was in shock. "Why?"

"I was hoping he would get your ass some help. You are a terrible person and should go to jail for what you've done to everyone around you. You hurt people all the time. You even hurt me. You need to grow up, Jake."

Mandy was defiant and strong. Jake cowered back from his sister he had tormented over the years. I could see the remnants of the girl she used to be trying to break free. She must have been a force before the damage that was done to her years ago. I wished I would have known her before this.

Jake wiped his hands over his face as he looked down at us; he didn't look sorry for anything that just happened. It made me hate him even more.

"Ezra, baby?" I cried, leaning against him. He hadn't moved once since he slumped down on the ground. He was breathing hard, shallow breaths, and I prayed for him to wake up. Jake was going to pay for what he did. My vision went red and I didn't even know what I was doing before I felt myself stand up.

I lunged at Jake. I surprised him enough that the weight of my body knocked him back to the ground. I pulled my fist back and slammed it as hard as I could into the side of his face. I grabbed his hair and slammed his head into the ground over and over again. I wanted him to feel what Ezra was feeling. I wanted to see him bleed.

The jackass swung at me with an open hand across my face, which knocked me off him and onto the ground. It stunned me and I couldn't move away fast enough. He climbed over me and used one hand to pin my hands down. He reached back to hit me again and I closed my eyes, waiting for the pain. Seconds passed before I looked up again and saw bloody Ezra pulling Jake back from me and then threw him to the ground. Ezra kicked Jake in the stomach hard and Jake started wheezing.

Ezra staggered as he grabbed his rib cage. Jake was still struggling to breathe as Milo and Austin tried to help pull him up. Mandy was standing there crying with her arms wrapped around her, trying to protect herself.

I was a little dazed and tried to sit up. Ezra moved to me and pulled me up. I could see him struggle through the pain in his ribs as he pulled me to my feet. I wouldn't be surprised if he cracked a few ribs when he was kicked. He pulled me into him and wrapped himself around me protectively.

He turned his head back towards Mandy, who was crying and shaking. Ezra took a beating for her and was looking at him like she was afraid he would turn on her next. Having that jerk for a brother had really ruined the world for this girl.

"Hey, Princess." Jake began laughing through his ragged breaths. "Next time you want to sit on me, all you have to do is ask." Jake was trying to push Ezra to keep this going.

"You ever try to touch her again, and I will fucking end you." Ezra tensed against me and I had to fight to hold him back from going back after him.

"Ezra, we need to get out of here." I said softly.

"Come on, Ezra, we can shoot her up and pass her around like the old days. How many of us do you think she can take at the same time?"

Ezra pushed me aside and was on Jake before I even had time to react. He buried his fist in Jake's face over and over again as the blood splattered on the ground. Jake was knocked out cold as Ezra kept pounding his fist into his face.

Milo and Austin got on either side of Ezra and began trying to pull him off. He was not going to let them.

"Ezra, stop." Mandy cried at him and went over to push Milo and Austin away. Once they were out of the way, she wrapped her arms around him and he sunk back into her, letting her comfort him. I stood there with my feet stuck to the ground, unable to move. Everything that happened tonight was too much to process.

"Don't do this. He's not worth it." Mandy begged him.

She pulled herself up from the ground and Ezra stood up to follow her. He walked over to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder to lean his weight on me. He looked strong while he was decimating Jake's face, but he was more hurt than he was trying to let on.

I turned Ezra around and heard him wince from the movement. He grabbed at his side and tried to walk. He stumbled a bit and I held on tight, trying to keep him up. Mandy moved on his other side and he leaned against both of us. We used our collective strength to get him out to the car and laid him down in the back seat.

He groaned again when he shifted, trying to get comfortable. I grabbed his keys from his pocket and climbed into the driver's seat. My face stung from where I got hit, but I should be fine to drive. We needed to get Ezra to a doctor.

"Mandy, where's the nearest hospital?" I asked, backing out and turning to head towards the gravel road.

"No hospital." Ezra choked out. I hit a bump and he cried out in pain.

"Ezra, please." I pleaded with him.

"No, just take me back to my Mom's. I'll be fine."

I didn't want to listen to him, but he would be angrier with me if I didn't give him what he wanted.

Mandy started giving me directions back to Ezra's childhood home. I felt lost and everything looked the same as I passed empty field after empty field. Ezra's head continued to bleed and I heard him trying to steady his breathing.

I was so scared for him.

I needed him to be alright.
