Chapter 120.

Amber's POV.

I don't trust these humans. There's something about them I can't pinpoint. Something wrong. I hope it's just me imagining things but only time will tell.

I hope they keep to their side of the treaty like we will keep to ours. Yuki seemed nice but I could tell she was very angry at us. She really didn't like the idea of a peace treaty but it seems we backed her into a corner.

Either way, if this turns into a battle, we won't go down without a fight. I just hope it doesn't come to that. Once they were fully gone I waited a few hours before sending my guards out to check the pack grounds for any humans they might have left.

When they showed up with no signs of humans I sent out a mind link to the pack telling them all the humans were gone and that they can go back to their every day lives.

I could feel the immense relief everyone felt at my words. I couldn't help but to smile at it. We settled down and had dinner and relaxed for the remainder of the day until it was finally bedtime.

Rebecca stayed with us again only this time we moved in a spare bed so she could have her own space to sleep if that was what she wanted. She chose to stay with us again tonight but promised she'd try out her bed another night.

So we both fell asleep with her wrapped up in my arms. I was blissfully unaware of anything happening for hours until a small cry filled the room. My eyes shot open and I sat up right away.

It was Connor. He was gripping his head tightly. My eyes widened and I began to wonder if he received another memory.

Rebecca sat in front of him. Her eyes still glowing green. Then it hit me what just happened. She tried to heal his mind.

She looked a little guilty. " Connor, what happened?" I ask, placing a hand on his shoulder comfortingly.

He let out a small laugh. " Amber, her powers are amazing. " he said.

My hopes shot higher. " Did she restore all your memories?" I asked.

" Not all of them. I remember a good bit now. She was only able to heal a third of my mind. It was her first time trying. Amber, I remember proposing to you. The things that happened to me there. I remember my mothers face. " he said looking at me.

He was so happy and had tears of joy rolling down his cheeks. Rebecca was now grinning. " Thank you Rebecca. You have done wonders to help. " I said.

" We can try again in a week. " said Connor.

She nodded furiously. She really wanted to help him and that in itself was just adorable. " We need to study your powers more now that you know how to use them. " said Connor.

She looked tired and yawned.  Connor laughed. " Yeah, healing someone when their injuries are very big will make you sleepy. You did so well. " said Connor.

She beamed at us and we ended up falling asleep again curled up with her in the middle. Once morning came I let the two of them sleep in and went to go for a walk around the pack grounds.

As I walked through the town and saw the pack slowly getting back into the swing of everyday life again, I could see the joy it brought them to be free from the threat we were under.

They were all smiles and said good morning to me as I passed by them. I greeted them with handshakes and hugs which seemed to shock some of them but they quickly understood my kindness and returned it tenfold.

Some pack members had made me some sweets over night and handed them to me as I greeted them as a thank you for taking care of the pack. I thanked them in return for trusting me even though they didn't have too.

Alpha Conan joined me half way through my walk of the town and neither of us said a word. We just smiled at each other and continued on our way.

When we got back to the pack house I was greeted by a sight. Connor had Rebecca up on his shoulders and was showing her some of his favorite plants that just so happen to grow next to the pack house.

She seemed enthralled with everything he was saying. It was honestly adorable. I wish everyday could start out like this one. However, we never know what the future holds and the trials they may bring.

I couldn't resist smiling at them. Seeing them like this made me think about how much they mean to me and how much I want these two to stay in my life forever.

If Rebecca can't get back to her parents I have officially made up my mind. I want her to stay with me. I want her as my daughter. I've never thought about having kids before, my own birth kids or adoption wise. This makes me so happy. She's so adorable and I can't get over how well the three of us fit together.

It's almost like she was made to be our child. For as long as I'm allowed to have her, I will treat her as my own and adore her.

I shared a look with Connor and just by the look in his eyes I instantly knew he was thinking the same thing and must feel the same way as me.

I chuckled as beamed at them. She then spotted me and waved me over as she called my name through our mind link.

" Alright. I'm on my way. " I said as I walked over to them and let her start talking to me about all the flowers Connor's been showing her.

Yeah, I could get used to this.
