"Kim Namjoon? Doesn't ring any bell, sorry."
A dry chuckle is heard on the other end when I say this.
Is my statement really so amusing?
"It's a pretty common name." his tone is almost teasing as he repeats my words back to me and I can't stifle the giggle that escapes my lips.
"While I do acknowledge that Kim is a very common surname, I have not heard your name ever before just like you haven't heard mine."
"Really? Do you live under a rock? Or maybe you are from another planet? Am I talking to an alien?! It's cool but kinda creepy." He is definitely teasing me now.
"I happen to live in a perfectly normal apartment thank you very much. And the farthest away from Seoul I've been is to Jeju island so you can scratch out the alien theory."
"You live in Seoul too?" He is surprised and so am I that I let this tidbit of information slip.
"Yeah. I mean no...ugh! Doesn't matter, we are strangers so forget it."
"Did we not already establish the fact that we are strangers, Noona ?"
The way he calls me 'Noona' makes my heart race suddenly, the low and husky tenor of his voice making me think of sinful things but I dissuade those thoughts as quickly as they spring up in my mind.
"We aren't close enough for you to call me that. Heck, we don't even know each other as you so kindly pointed out Mr. Kim Namjoon." I remind him.
"We can get to know each other better then, Ms. Song Jia." he retorts and it sounds flirty although my lack of experience with the other sex and the art of flirting makes me doubt if he really intends to sound like that.
"Should we? You could be a serial killer for all I know. I could be a stalker for all you know."
Is it because I am older or that his IQ is very less that he doesn't grasp the concept of stranger-danger? Am I the only sane and mature one in this conversation ?
Although he doesn't sound like a psycho at all. He sounds like one attractive, hot guy and I know I am being partial because I like his voice but still.
"I think I will take the chances. Do you own an axe though? They are scary and can be a dealbreaker."
"What kind of a woman doesn't own an axe?"
"Brooklyn 99? Although I myself am more of a FRIENDS fan."
"Me too! Who's your favorite? Mine is Monica although I love them all."
A FRIENDS fan can't be an insane psychopath right? I don't regret my decision to talk to this guy anymore.
"When did you ever? Especially after hearing that sexy voice of his..." The devil on my shoulder smirks but the angel on the other side swats her away.
"Ah that's a very hard question! It's hard to pick one. Chandler, I think he is my favorite because I love his jokes."
"I pegged you as a Ross fan because you seem like one." I blurt with a chuckle.
"Yeah people do tend to tell me that as I am clumsy and nerdy like him. But hey, aren't you being too hasty to peg me as a Ross? You don't know me."
"You sound like one." I chuckle harder.
"Now that's a first." I am sure he is grinning on the other end.
