The entire Empire of Azaria looked festive.
In an outsider's perspective, it's would be seem rather odd for them to celebrate something so grand and big when there isn't even a holiday. However, it's because its concerns the elder princess that they're being so jolly about it. Just like when the youngest daughter was born, that's how it was like... or how it should been in the first place for her.
For her, she wasn't a royal blooded. The King and Queen simply took her in out of kindness, raising her to be a princess with a good heart fit to be a future queen who will love her people once she get married that is.
She made her schedule every single time when it's her birthday this way:
In the morning, they will be taking a stroll outside the palace to be with the people of their kingdom though it's almost everyday she sneaked into the town but she never grow tired of this routine no matter how boring it's might sound. At night, the ballroom within the palace will have a party where all of her dance lessons will come in handy if any of the people want to dance with the birthday girl.
As to balance it all together, Mika prepared a dress for her with the help of his senior, Shu Itsuki of course. It was a dress for the tonight's ball, a celebration for her big day.
Wearing the brown cloak, she walked throughout the town with her best friend. She was in awe with the effort of the people put it all up for the decorations. Lanterns with the design of a red dragon were all over the places, pictures of the kingdom's symbol were painted onto the wall of the buildings and the little flowers attached to the buildings as the lines of multiple flowers float above their head. What a beautiful sight to behold.
❝Woah...❞ She stared at the decorations, amazed by the townspeople's works.
❝Happy Birthday, your highness!❞ She smiled kindly at the small family who immediately greeted her as she was passing by ❝Thank you, I hope you're enjoying yourselves as well❞
With that, she pat the little girl's head whose eyes sparkles at the sight of the princess ❝And of course the little one as well❞
The small child looked up, grinning happily while jumping on her feets as she giddily held onto her mother's skirt. The mother laughed at her daughter's excitement of seeing the princess in person, nodding ❝Certainly! Oh my goodness, my daughter have been going through every stall just to try some of their sweets❞
As if it's on cue, the child tugged on her skirt and pointed at a shop nearby while blinking her eyes cutely ❝Oh, but you must excuse us. Thank you so much for today, your highness!❞ The mother said, laughing as she held her daughter's small hand as the child begins to dragged her towards the shop's direction.
She waved, oh how happy she is to know that the people around her who passed by, greeted her so warmly ❝This is the happiest moment I've ever seen you, Reichan❞ Mika piped in as they continued with their stroll ❝Your smile seems to be two times bigger than usual❞
At this, Reina laughed ❝There is a lot of reasons to why I'm so happy today!❞ She looked around the street, seeing the colorful flowers and white roses adorning the shops around them as the town was filled with the sound of laughter and music. There isn't a single home or person who wasn't enjoying themselves.
❝I truly am blessed to have such wonderful people around us❞ Whispering, she turned towards the boy with a bright smile.
Seeing her being so jolly, he couldn't help but smile back at her ❝Is there anywhere you would like to go before we return to th palace?❞ He asked, thinking it's might be her first time walking around the town on her big day.
❝Hmm... I don't really know... beside visiting Natsume's household... I never gone out that much❞ She mumbles to herself, looking around before spotting a familiar shop ❝Oh! What about Ra*bits' bakery? I want to try out their special strawberry shortcake!❞ She excitedly pulled his arm, leading him towards the shop before he could even say anything.
When the door opened, the bells on it jingled, alarming the owners of the shop that they're having costumers. The young princess's attention was immediately taken by a delightful aroma as her pale blue eyes wandered through the trays of breads that was displayed on the shelves.
Pastries and cakes were placed behind a glass window near the cash register. Breathing in, she let out a sigh in content as she smiled cheerfully. The cute design of little bunnies and flowers made her chuckles at how cute the design is everytime, it's no wonder why the bakery was so popular with the kids.
❝What a cute place...❞ She muttered under her breath, not getting bored of seeing the same place almost everyday as she looked around, her feets begin to move unconsciously towards a tray of croissants.
❝Y-Y-Your highness!❞ A stuttering voice suddenly piped in, to be in sync with the sound of a tray falling before clattering on the wood floors.
She immediately turned around in surprise, her eyes caught the sight of a young boy most probably the same age as her, she deducted. Short white hair with turquoise green eyes and tanned skin. With his striking features, it was odd for her to not know him.
She been visiting the town countless times yet she couldn't even remember seeing a face like his. In fact, he's not even familiar to her at all. Perhaps he doesn't go outside on the day when she's around?
She titled her head in curiosity. He looked scared... Wait no, more than scared, he looked absolutely nervous. Far too nervous actually. Did her presence scare him? Poor guy.
❝Uh Hello there? Are you perhaps new to this town?❞ She asked, trying to make a conversation with the boy but he didn't said a word as he was completely frozen in place ❝Oh... Are you alright?❞
