Through this small article i want to initiate the very important issue of reservations in India.  

Its been 70 years since we gained independence and the reservation policy i suppose was made for the initial 10 years so that the unpriveleged or the low groups in society get an equal chance to flourish in the Indian economy. However, due to the comfort zone of a particular section, innumerable amendments have been incorporated in constitutional framework to drag this till date.

Why was it started? Well, the intention was to provide a backup support and equality of opportunity to the minority and backward communities. 

But In modern India, it seems to be the GENERAL category which seems to have emerged as a minority. Moreover, since the social, political and economic stability has been established, the criteria of reservation needs to be done away with completely. 

Why i feel so? Atleast it will bring uniformity in admissions in jobs without youth nurturing resentment. The academic and technical know-how can never be compromised at any cost. These reservation policies arise resentment among youth which leads to brain drain and lowering of our own national calibre. 

I feel its high time that we need to act wisely and government must take crucial but stern steps in this direction as it will help to eradicate corruption.
