*LAURENS' POV*

   Washington came practically running up to Laf, Herc and I. He had a worried look in his eyes. Seeing the general in distress set off an alarm inside me. "Sir!" I said "is everything ok?!" "Have any of you seen Hamilton?" He asked worriedly.

This time Lafayette spoke. " Not since this morning when he told us he was going to look around the area for spies or redcoats. He's not back yet? It's been hours!" "I know." Washington said. "Could he be in trouble?!" Herc exclaimed. In an instance we knew the same thought entered our minds. I hope not.

All of a sudden, a brick with a note on it was thrown at someone. It hit them pretty hard. Herc seemed pretty excited with the random violence. The rest of us were just confused... Like, why a brick?! I picked up the note while someone else took the other soldier to the army's nurse.

The Note said-

Hello general Washington,
We have one of your soldiers, Hamilton. If you want him back alive, I want you and your army to surrender. It's either he tells me your next attack plans with the help of ...a bit.. of pain or you do as I say. I Hope you make the sensible choice.

" Oh my god...they have Alex!" I exclaimed. "What are we going to do sir!" Laf said. He and Washington seemed the most worried. Laf and Alex were like brothers. They always looked out for each other. Washington also looked out for Alex like a father. Although he denies it, Alex sees Washington as a father figure. We can see in his eyes.

Then Charles Lee came over. "Sir, Hamilton isn't worth surrendering to the British! I say good riddance to that sad excuse of a soldier." "You'd better take that back Lee!" I said. "Make me Johnny boy." Lee said in a mocking tone. that jerk! I was about to throw a punch at him but Washington's hand was set on shoulder. I looked over to see him. Gears seemed to be turning in His head. " Well... one thing's for sure, we won't surrender to the British." He said through the annoyance of Lee's words. "They could see it as a weak point. But we can't let them torture Alex for answers either. He was obviously defiant when they asked for answers to the next attack, otherwise they wouldn't send that note to us asking me to surrender. We need to save him ourselves."
"Why would you risk your lives for someone like him?!" Lee shouted. I looked at Washington with pleading eyes. "...Fine."
I smirked and walked up to Lee, looked him in the eyes, and punched him in the face. He fell backwards. "You a-!" "You'd better shut your mouth before I it for you Lee." He closed his mouth and walked off with an angry look in his eyes. I ran up to Washington, Laf, and Herc with a smirk still glued on my face."Let's save Alex."
