6. My Son Is Beautiful

The gorgeous Caleb up top

Caleb POV

"He left pregnant with your child." Pops words still replay in my head.

I couldn't believe it when pop told me. Now he's here, in front of me playing with my mates. It brings a smile to my face knowing I now have the chance to get to know him. He looks so much like me it's scary. Right down to my blue eyes.

"You have a natural-born soccer player, my blue-eyed Tigger." Vince said sitting on my lap as I was sitting on the patio steps.

"I can see that." I chuckled.

"He's a quick study too, he's learning at a fast rate." Seth said joining us.

"I just can't believe Adin kept him from me all these years. I mean it was possible he got pregnant when we mated but then he rejected me." I said.

"Well, now you have him." I sighed but nodded.

I've been playing professional soccer ever since I graduated from UCLA. I majored in pediatric medicine as a fall back if I ever got tired of soccer or I got injured beyond what Raja could repair.

"I do and I never want to let him go." I sighed.

"We know my little assassin." Nathan said, smiling.

I chuckled.

"Oh, hush you. Not my fault Raja found your ass too hot to resist." He blushed.

We were fooling around one night and one thing led to another and we mated that night with Vince watching. My kinky buck.

"And you can take it anytime you want." He whispered and I groaned.

"I saw him before all of you." Seth sassed.

"You saw papa?" Altan looked at Seth confused and we all blushed.

I remember when Seth became my mate. It was after seeing Adin again. I went to his house and because Raja needed comfort he bonded with Raiser, Seth's wolf.

"Don't worry about it baby boy." I chuckled.

He pouted but just kept playing with Seth.

"Do you think the twins were telling the truth about wanting to tell you about Altan?" Eric asked and I nodded.

"Raja has the ability to sniff out a lie by scent and dad also taught me how to read body language and listen to changes in heartbeats."

"I know." Nathan blushed.

Asshole had a witch weaken his wolf after the third rejection and was afraid of a fourth so when I confronted him about questionable glances he'd give me and the time I felt a pull towards him, Raja took over and let's just say Nathan couldn't walk right for a week.

"I can't believe Adin did that." They whispered as I was broken out of my thoughts and I nodded and we dropped the topic of Adin. I don't want the first lesson I teach my son is bad-mouthing his father even if I am hurt he doesn't have to protect me.

"Papa I'm hungry." He was holding his stomach.

"Ok, baby boy let's go make dinner." I picked him up and we all went inside.

"Do you think he's the same kind of God as we are?" Raja asked.

"No, he's too calm and collected." I looked at my baby boy as he was playing with a foam sword.

"We can ask papa Alistair what he thinks." Shit, I forgot to tell him I found Altan. I told dad, pop, and my other dads while we were outside playing in the back of Adin's house and I forgot to call papa.

After helping my mates cook I decided to call him on facetime before I forgot again.

"Hey kiddo, you don't look so good."

Leave it to Papa to be so brutally honest.

"Papa I know you made a vow to never lie to me again but there's a time, place, and situations to tell a white lie." I chuckled and he laughed.

"How are you and Balwin?" Yes, I call papa's mate by his name. He said it makes him feel badass.

"We're fine, now why do you look like a walking corpse?" Again with that.

"How about 'aw kiddo you look so adorable tonight but what's wrong you look sad'." I playfully glared.

"Sure, now spill it." I pulled Altan on my lap so papa could see and he gasped.

"Is that?" I nodded and we both began to tear up.

"Meet your grandson, Altan." I smiled.

I smiled giving Altan my phone to talk to papa as I did with dad, pop, and my other dads along with the rest of the family. I heard from grandpa Julian himself that they weren't allowed to see Altan unless Adin took him over to the pack. I guess he didn't want them to know where they were keeping him. Well, that and the fact that grandpa Julian was highly upset Adin slapped Uncle Matty.

"Grandpa said he had to go." I nodded.

"Ok, baby boy let's eat." We all walked to the dining table and sat down to eat.

After dinner, we decided to watch tv.

"So uh... what kind of things do you like to do Altan?" I asked awkwardly.

"I like to go to the park, get ice cream, go swimming, play outside, hang out with my friends, draw and play sports. Oh, and play with mama."

"That's really cool, what's your favorite color or colors?" I saw his little mind turning.

"Blue, red, green, yellow, black, and white." He chuckled.

"Mine is green, red, blue, black, white, and grey." I smiled.

"Can we go back outside and play?" He asked.

"Sure baby boy." We all go outside and I grab my soccer ball.

"Let's walk to the neighborhood park instead." Vince said and I nodded.

As we walked, Atlan pointed at the clouds telling us what they looked like to him.

When we got there he booked it to the slide and I sat down eating my ice cream as we got on our way.

The line was long but worth it.

"Papa, can you push me on the swing?" I nodded, getting up and picking him up, placing him on the swing and pushing him.

I was getting more tired than any of them were. It's been such a long day.

After pushing him on the swing for a while, all of us decided to play soccer.

"Nice pass baby boy." I smiled when he kicked the ball to Eric.

"Thanks, papa." He smiled.

"Time to go home." I looked at the time and it was eight-thirty.

When we got home I ran his bath.

"I had fun, today, papa." He said and I smiled.

"I'm glad you did, I did too." I ruffled his hair and walked out of the bathroom and finished unpacking Altan's suitcase.

"Papa I'm done." He called from the bathroom.

I finished what I was doing in his room and took him a change of clothes and his towel.

When he was dressed he got in bed and I read him a story which I found out not even Adin does.
I shouldn't be surprised considering Adin is not a good person but to not even read to Altan before bed? What else did he neglect our son?

"Good night baby boy, I love you." I kissed his forehead and turned off his light and joined my mates in our bed.

"He's more like you in so many ways." Seth pointed out and the others nodded.

"He is." I said in between yawns and they cuddled up to me.

"Good night loves." I said and they said good night.

That being the last thing I heard before falling asleep.

"Papa." I heard a scared voice and opened my eyes and noticed it was storming out and Altan looked terrified so I pulled the covers down and he climbed into bed and his little body was shaking as he curled into me. I rubbed his back gently and kissed his head.

"It's ok son, it's just a storm." I tried to soothe him but it didn't work.

"I have always been scared of the storms. When I would go to mama when it scared me awake mama would make me go back to bed and I wouldn't sleep. Mama doesn't even get up to make sure I'm back in bed either." He was crying and I wanted to kill Adin for yet another thing they neglected to do for our son.

"You want to know what my dad would do when I got scared?" I asked softly and he nodded his head that is buried in my neck.

"He would hold me until I felt safe, relaxed and when I did, he would take me to the kitchen and make me a cup of tea. Hot tea is dad's favorite thing to drink instead of coffee. He would ask me what I was scared of and I would tell him and he would comfort me and tell me there isn't anything to be scared of that he's right there to chase the fear away and as I got older, got to know him better I believed him." I said and he slowly stopped crying and his body relaxed a little.

"I may be a new person to you baby boy but I will do anything in this world for you. You never have to worry about anything as long as I'm around. I love you Altan Calleen Blackstone and I always will." I said and he looked up at me and puckered his little lips and gave me a duckie kiss. I held him on my body as he closed his eyes and his little body was fully relaxed and he was sleeping.

I cried silently as I held him, my heart breaking at the thought of him going back to Adin when I just found him. I can't lose him, I can't let him go, not after all this time of not having him in my life. I still have horrible separation anxiety and it got worse with having my mates and now my son, it's going to be way worse if I don't do something about keeping Altan with me.

I woke up the next morning with Altan still sleeping on my chest so I gently kissed his head and gently picked him up and laid him on the bed so I could go to the bathroom. Once I was done I brushed my teeth and washed my face and went downstairs to find my mates cooking breakfast.

"Good morning." I said and went to pour water in a cup for hot tea, dad's fault for me liking it instead of coffee.

"Good morning." They said and I smiled.

"Um, Caleb?" Vince said and I looked at him. He never says my name so this must be serious.

"Yes, Vince?"

"I heard Altan last night and what he said. I think you should look into his memories to find out how he was treated by Adin. Not reading to him, not comforting him when he is scared, who knows what else Adin didn't do or did do to harm him." Vince said looking at me with a worried look on his pretty face.

"I will and I swear if he laid a hand on my son in any kind of harmful way, I won't just threaten to kill him, I will." I said and Altan walked into the kitchen rubbing his eyes and yawning.

"Morning papa." He came over to me and I put my cup down and picked him up and he laid his head on my shoulder.

"Good morning baby boy. How did you sleep?"

"Better since I was with you. Thank you for letting me sleep with you, papa." He looked up at me and gave me a kiss.

"You're welcome, are you hungry?" I asked and his stomach rumbled and he blushed.

"I'll take that as a yes. Breakfast will be done soon. Would you like a drink? We have milk, orange juice, apple juice, and sunny d."

"Apple juice please." He said and Seth got a plastic cup out of the cabinet and poured Altan some in the cup.

"Thank you." He took a sip and licked his lips.

"That's good." He said and I chuckled.

"It's from the local farmers market. They make it fresh and sell it there for people. A lot of people like it so they also sell it in the store. It has a very apple taste doesn't it?" Eric asked and Altan nodded and smiled.

"It does, some taste horrible." He giggled and I smiled at the sound.

"Since it's Saturday, we have the whole weekend to do things but my dad, pop, and other dads want to see you so they will be here tomorrow for a cookout. Today is just us so anything you want to do or any place you want to go, let me know and we'll do it." I looked at him and he put his little finger on his lip like he was thinking and I saw myself when I would do that as a kid.

"Let me get back to you on that." He said and we all laughed.

"You got it. Breakfast is ready." Nathan said and I put Altan down and he went to sit at the table and we followed him taking the food to the table.

"Ok, I got something we can do." Altan said with food in his mouth.

"Don't talk with food in your mouth baby boy, you can choke. What's your idea?" I said and he swallowed his food and looked at us.

"Can I learn how to ride a bike?" He asked with a hopeful look in his eyes and I had to grit my teeth. My mates looked upset and I was a little pissed off.

"Of course you can. We will go to the store and pick out a bike that fits you and get everything you need to be safe. When we get home we'll teach you." Seth said and Altan smiled brightly. Nathan rubbed the top of my hand that was clenched around my fork to get me to calm down.

A bike, an eight-year-old doesn't know how to ride a bike? The most basic thing a child learns at three years old and learns to ride on two wheels as they get older.

"Ok let's go get you a bike baby boy." I said after we were finished with breakfast and we all got ready to go.

"Yay!" Altan cheered as he jumped up and down.

"My first bike!" He smiled and I felt my heart breaking again.

"It'll be ok baby." Nathan said and hugged me. I sighed and put my nose into his neck and inhaled his scent of chocolate and strawberries, a delicious combination that makes my mouth water.

"We better go before I end up taking you to bed right now." I said and he licked my neck and I groaned. He chuckled and kissed me deeply, wrapping his arms around my neck and I wrapped mine around his waist and pulled him to me.

"I don't have a problem with that." He said and bit my bottom lip gently.

"No, but Altan is waiting." I said and he let me go and grabbed my hand.

"Let's go." He said and I laughed. We walked outside and Eric and we got into my truck. Seth and Vince were in Vince's car, we can't fit us all in my truck.

The trip to the store was fun as Altan was talking about anything his little mind could think of and it was nice having him with me. I have my mates and my beautiful son, life is good.

"This one!" Altan said when he saw a blue and red bike with tires to match the color which was neat to see.

"Ok let's see if you'll fit it." Eric got the bike and had Altan stand next to it and it was a good fit.

"Ok sit on it to see how it feels. Don't worry, I won't let go." Eric promised and Altan got onto the bike and his feet were firmly on the floor.

"Ok looks good." I said and he got off the bike. I looked for training wheels, a helmet, elbow, and knee pads for him.

"Ok let's go home and well set your bike up for you and teach you." Seth said and when they went one way, I went another to find Altan a few new outfits and shoes, sandals, and some coloring books and crayons. Just something for him to do for now until I can bring him to get stuff for him. I also need to set up a room for him, with things he wants in it to decorate it.

"Sorry, went and grabbed some stuff real quick." I said to my mates when they were waiting for me at the checkout line. There was someone in front of us so they hadn't paid for the bike yet.

"Woah, dude! It's Caleb Blackstone!" I heard a kid say and looked over at them and who they were with.

"Hello." I said to them, they look like they are pre-teens, two boys and two girls.

"You are our idol! We watch you all the time and we think you're the coolest soccer player ever!" One of the boys said and the others nodded and smiled.

"Thank you, I remember when I was your age and I met my idol, Christian Pulisic. He used to be the captain of the US team before I got the spot after he retired." I said and they squealed and I laughed.

"Can we have your autograph please?" One of the girls asked.

"Of course guys." I smiled, signing the pictures of myself and taking pictures with them.

"Thank you so much." They all said and followed their families out of the store and their families mouth a 'thank you'. I smiled and nodded at them.

When we got home I unloaded Altan's bike.

"Ok kiddo. I'm going to grab my tools to adjust your seat."

I go inside and grab my toolbox from under the sink.

"Ok hop on and let's see." He got on and I looked things over.

"Ok, it just needs to be raised a little." I said and he stood up as I adjusted the seat.

"Try it now." He smiled.

"It's perfect papa!" I smiled. I don't think I could ever stop loving the sound of that.

After putting my toolbox away I was smiling at the sight of Seth and Nathan helping Altan balance and control the bike and Vince being the mom out of the five of us, was videotaping them.

"My little family." I smiled to myself and Vince and I kissed before helping Seth and Nathan when Altan took off and was losing control.

"I got him." I stopped him just in time before he could flip forward from getting caught in gravel and dirt.

"Are you ok kiddo?" He was silently crying against my chest and hugging me.

"You're ok baby boy, papa's here." I rubbed his back. I will always be here, I promised silently as I held my beautiful baby boy.

"Always." I whispered to him and we got up off the sidewalk and he wiped his eyes.

"I want to go again." He said with determination so I picked his bike up and he sat on it.

"Ok start to peddle and we'll start moving, I won't let go, just look forward and focus on staying straight." I said and he did what I said and a little while later he was doing really well.

"You did great. Do you want me to put the training wheels on so you can practice?" I asked and he nodded shyly.

"You don't need to be shy baby boy, everyone needs help with things. It's ok to ask for help also, don't ever be afraid to ask me or any of us for help with anything you need." I said and my mates agreed with me.

"Why don't you go call your mama? I'm sure they would like to hear from you." I said and he looked hesitant.

"Can I call later?" He asked so I sat beside him and took his hand.

"Are you mad at your mama?" I asked and he nodded.

"Mama kept me from you, forever. I saw you looking at me with tears in your eyes a few times since we got here. Mama hurt us both papa." He sadly said and I took him into my arms and hugged him.

"I know baby boy but they are still your mama, no matter what, your mama loves you." I know Adin did horrible things but Adin also loves Altan, it shows in his manners, he's healthy, taken care of and very smart. He may not know the basic things and needs a lot of comfort but he was raised in a good environment, that much I know.

"Will you ever talk to mama papa?"

"That's a bit complicated baby boy but maybe one day I will be able to talk to Adin without feeling hurt for what they did."

"Ok. I'll call mama." He said and I smiled, that's my boy.

"Do you know your mama's number?" I asked as I got my phone out of my back pocket.

"Yes, I do." He told me the number and it rang three times before Adin answered.

"Hello?" Adin said and their voice sounded drained.

"Hey, it's Caleb. Altan is here so I thought you would want to talk to him." I heard sniffling and I sighed softly.

"That would be great, I miss my little mud monster." I didn't like the way they sounded.

"Are you alright Adin?"

"Fine, just sleepy."

"If I woke you, go back to bed. Altan can call you later." I offered.

"No, I want to talk to him." I handed Altan my phone and he started talking to Adin. I walked into the kitchen and saw my mates snacking on veggies.

"Are you alright baby?" Nathan asked and I had no idea how to answer that.

"Ask me that tomorrow, I don't know right now." He looked worried by my answer.

"Why don't you know? What happened?" Vince asked.

"I had called Adin so Altan could talk to his mama and Adin didn't sound too good. I know what Adin did was wrong but one minute they had Altan, Dominic and their brothers, now they are alone. I don't know, guess I'm just thinking of how I felt for the last eight years and wondering if Adin feels it now."

"If they do, it's their own fault for keeping Altan away from you. Don't go feeling like you need to go and be Adin's knight in shining armor Caleb, not after the hell they put you through." Eric, the level headed calm mate of mine said and he looked angry.

"I'm not going to, I just don't want Altan to be upset, sad, or worried about his mama."

"Mama hung up after saying I love you, I didn't even get to say it back." Altan said and handed me my phone. I picked him up and hugged him.

"Mama sounded tired so you can call again tomorrow if you want, alright?" I said and he nodded.

"It's getting to be dinner time soon so go play for a bit while we cook." I said and put him down after kissing his cheek. He ran out of the kitchen and we got to making dinner.

"Dinners done baby boy." I called Altan from the back door and he smiled and ran to me.

"Can you put in a tire swing? We have one in our backyard at mama's and I love it."

"Yea, I'll make sure to get that done tomorrow for you. Come on, let's go eat." He smiled and he went to wash his hands and we all sat down to eat.

"Your uncles will be coming with my dad tomorrow Altan, when they come to visit." I said and he smiled wide.

"Awesome. They are fun to play with." He said and I chuckled.

"They seem like nice boys. I'm glad you have them."

"Of course they are, mama raised them." He said and I knew that, as I said, Altan is being raised in a good environment so it's no surprise Ryan and Jason are how they are with Adin as the parent figure in their lives.

After dinner I was feeling really tired so I went to take a shower and when I was done, I laid in bed to relax for a few minutes but ended up falling asleep.

"Good night, we love you." I faintly heard Nathan say as my mates got into bed and we cuddled together in a tangle of limbs, going back to sleep after a long eventful two days.
