I woke up to darkness surrounding me. I didn't know where I was. I panicked. I looked around breathing hard while hot salty tears prickled at my eyes. I was beginning to cry.
I felt wetness between my legs and had noticed I had wet myself. This made me cry even more.

I had woken up to the sound of crying and looked around but couldn't find the source. It was at this point that I had gotten up from my place and went to check on Layla.
When I went upstairs I saw that Layla was awake and crying her heart out.
I went over to the light and turned it on.
I sighed and grabbed a pull-up and picked up another of Layla's pacifiers from the box and went over to Layla.
I popped a pacifier in Layla's mouth and started to change Layla into a clean pull-up.
After I was done I threw the soiled pull-up in the garbage and then picked Layla up with her plushies and carried her to where me and Ashley were sleeping.
I lay down with Layla in my arms rocking her gently and stroking her hair slowly. After about 3 minutes of doing this she falls asleep. I then sigh relieved that she has fallen asleep and slowly start to fall asleep.
(The next morning)
I feel that my side is cold and empty. I look to my side and see that Ashley and Layla were gone.
I groggily got out of bed and walked downstairs to the kitchen to see Layla in a high chair with Ashley feeding her a spoonful of cereal.

I sighed at the scene in front of me wondering how Layla could be so happy after the incident that took place.
I sighed once more and continued to make my way towards the coffee machine to pour myself some coffee.
Once I poured my coffee i sat down at the kitchen table and said good morning.
They both greeted me back in their own way.
I smiled and continued to drink my coffee while contemplating about life.
