Lunch time with my parents had just ended, meaning it was now time to head over to Akiyoshi's shooting range for practice.

I swung my quiver over my shoulder, grabbed my newer bow (which I got on my sixth birthday), said goodbye to my parents, and headed out.

When I arrived at the range on the outskirts of town, Akiyoshi was in the middle of aiming, the string drawn back and arrow already nocked.

I waited until he released the arrow to greet him.

"Good morning Akiyoshi-san!"

"Morning Yuuto." He replied, wiping some sweat from his forehead. "Ready for practice?"

"As always." I grin.

"That's good, because I have something new I want to teach you." He said.

"What's that?" I ask curiously.

"Follow me, I'll show you."

Akiyoshi leads me past the shooting range and into the forest, where the trees are thick and sturdy.

"Now pay close attention Yuuto." Akiyoshi said, nocking an arrow.

He drew back the string, aiming a tree about thirty feet away. Instead of releasing the arrow, he closed his eyes.

A coating of light blue surrounded the arrows head before his eyes snapped back open. He released the arrow and it sliced through the air with a hiss, burying itself almost completely into the tree.

"Let's get on with the lesson already!" I exclaim. "That was awesome!"

"I know kid."

~~~~~
My instructions were simple. Channel my inner energy, chakra, into the arrow, aim, and let it fly.
I hadn't managed to get very far, but I could make an arrow head go all the way into the trunk of a tree.
I retrived my arrow from the tree and nocked it again, deciding I would take on more shot before heading home for the day.
I pulled the string taunt, shutting my eyes and taking a deep breath in through my nose. I felt a warm feeling course through me, into my finger tips and into the arrow. The warmth was a pleasant feeling, like sleeping under the sun.
My eyes snapped open again and I prepared to release, but before I could I heard a shrill scream. The scream made me flinch, causing me to release my grip on the arrow and making the arrow fly straight through a boulder.
I lower my bow and turn to the sound of the scream just to see Okaa-san with a horrified expression on her face.
"Come home, now." She orders, a tear rolling down her cheek.
I leave the arrow ans quickly hurry after her since she had already turned and began walking away.
"Uh, bye?" I awkwardly say to Akiyoshi.
"Bye kid." He shrugs.
What the hell did I do?
~~~~~

I sat nervously on the couch with my stuffed dragon Shiro resting on my lap.

Okaa-san paced the room back and forth, a grim look on her face. She would glance at me and then look away.

Otou-san sat hunched over in his favourite armchair with his fingers laced together. He just stared at the floor.

"Okaa-san?" I speak up.

"Hush Yuuto, you have no idea what's going on." She snapped back.

Well maybe I would if you told me.

"Who taught you how to use chakra?" Otou-san asked.

"Akiyoshi-san." I replied.

Okaa-san grit her teeth and began tapping her foot.

"Please go to your room Yuuto." Otou-san ordered, his usual carefree tone gone. "Your Okaa-san and I have to talk about grown up things."

I would've rolled my eyes, but I didnt have the heart to. Instead, I nodded and got off the couch, heading towards the stairs. I walked up the stairs until I was out of sight and quietly sat down.

"Kiyoko, this is bad."

"Dammit Fumio I know that!" Okaa-san hissed.

"He's just like him, just like-"

"Don't ever even imply that!" Okaa-san interrupted. "No matter how similar, they aren't the same. Just because he can now use chakra, doesn't make him bad. Hell, we used chakra back then."

"But do you want him to make the same mistakes as we did?" Otou-san asks.

"Of course not!"

"Then what do we do?"

"We have to keep him away from people that will influence him using his chakra again. We have to explain that chakra isn't a good thing." Okaa-san whispers.

"How do we do that?"

"We forbid him from becoming a shinobi."

I went completely still.

There was no way. I wasn't sure after chakra had been mentioned, but now they're talking about shinobi?

It's just not possible.

There's no way I'm in the Naruto world.

~~~~~
After the argument, I hurried up to my room and sat on my bed. Acting as if I was innocently playing with my stuffed dragon and wasn't just eavesdropping on my parents.
I heard a knock and looked up to see my parent's standing in the doorway.
"I'm sorry Yuuto, we aren't mad at you." Otou-san said softly. "But you must understand that chakra is bad."
"Why?" I ask, like any six year old would.
"Shinobi use chakra to do things, bad things." Okaa-san explained, sitting on the edge of my bed. "Theft, deceit, and even murder."
"Do you understand?" Otou-san asks.
I nod my head once.
"Good, now promise me you won't use it again." Okaa-san says.
"Okay." I reply, hiding my guilt.
Sorry, but that isn't happening.
~~~~~

The next day, we began packing up, Otou-san saying that we had to move somewhere that was 'better for buisness.' I had no idea where was better for a carpenters, but I couldn't really fight it.

That night we left the small town, not even bothering to say goodbye to everyone we met. I didn't even get to thank Akiyoshi for all of his help over the past two years.

But it is what it is, not much I can do about it.

~~~~~
The new house was smaller then before, with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. I didn't mind the smaller space, but the sudden move bothered me.
Okaa-san and otou-san both seemed much more on edge lately, and I rarely left the house.
My boredom got so bad I began reading history books I found around the house and sneaking out at night to practice my archery with chakra.
While my parent's still allowed me to do archery, they never mentioned chakra or wanted anything to do with it, making me resort to sneaking out to use my chakra.
It was almost like a drug. It just felt so natural, so good. How could I stop?
I continued to read more and more books, leaving the house almost never. My parents hated how anti-social I was, but didn't do much about it.
I asked about school one time and they basically told me, 'aren't you happy with being honeschooled?'
I didn't know I was being homeschooled. I just sat at home all day.
Overall it was peaceful. But that just had to change.
Things will pick up soon, I swear.
