What the hell am I doing?!
I'm standing before a clone of Zabuza Momochi for fuck's sake! Sure, a clone only has a tenth of the original's strength, but that tenth's probably still much stronger than me. I'm a genin, he's a jonin; the gap in power is huge.
I held my kunai tightly, facing the water clone with what I hoped was a brave face. The clone chuckled, pointing his blade at me.
"Here I come!" He exclaimed, rushing forward.
I arched around him, running the other way to pull him away from my team as they got a plan together. The clone chased after me as I hoped he would and I walked backwards, making sure I always faced my team and the clone.
His sword crashed down over me and I barely blocked with a kunai, forcing the blade to slide off my kunai and into the ground. I leapt back a bit, watching carefully as the clone pulled his sword out. I pushed my glasses onto the bridge of my nose, analyzing my enemy.
I may be able to dodge attacks because I'm light and fast, but he will overpower me in strength and I want to avoid taijutsu for as long as possible. I'm decent at it, but my bones are extremely brittle. I once broke an arm when Tenzo and I were training by punching him in the gut too hard. His face was hilarious, but I was too busy screaming to see it. I miss him, it's weird without his constant nagging.
I stumbled back as the clone swung his sword, trying to catch me off guard while I was thinking. I quickly jumped away.
"Quit dodging and fight!" He roared.
"Not a good idea!" I yelled back, dancing away from his sword.
My eyes darted over to Naruto and Sasuke for a second, just in time to see them both nod. I dodged another sword-strike and looked to Sasuke for further instructions.
"Destroy the clone, Yuuto!" Naruto exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah! I'll try!"
Using how light I was to my advantage, I created even more distance between us, pushing my glasses onto my head. I tried to steady my hand.
Don't miss, don't miss, don't miss!
As long as I was calm, I would hit the target where I needed to. It was just a clone, after all, I could do this, he wouldn't die. He would only be destroyed. Even if he died, maybe he'll come back, just like I did.
Yeah, he can come back. I did it, and I'm not special.
I drew back the arrow, taking a single slow breath and releasing it. No point in wasting my chakra. The arrow bounced off the tall sword, and the clone peeked around the blade, smirking. I growled.
I have to get the sword away first.
I hate taijutsu!
I foolishly dropped my bow and quiver, taking a kunai into both of my hands.
Here I come!
My cloak flapped behind me as I ran and weaved, zig-zagging all around just to make sure I wasn't being predictable. I approached him head-on, acting like I would get him from the front. He used his sword to block again and I smirked, making a simple clone. The clone ran around the sword as I hid behind it. Zabuza's clone turned the sword to block my clone's strike, and I stabbed my kunai into his spine. The clone burst into water and my clone dispersed. I did my best to toss the sword to the side, stepping to the side as quickly as I could.
A giant shuriken buzzed past me, and I looked behind me, watching as Sasuke's smirk grew. Zabuza caught the shuriken, laughing at the failed attack. But another shuriken was in the firsts shadow, and it sailed towards him at top speed. He jumped over the shuriken and my face fell.
He dodged the attacks.
But once he jumped over the shuriken, it morphed into something- no, someone. It was Naruto! He threw a kunai at Zabuza's open back, and he had no choice but to release Kakashi so he could dodge or catch the kunai headed for his spine.
Kakashi landed on top of the water, his eye narrowed in a beyond hateful glare. His silver hair flopped to one side, water dripping from his hair and clothes constantly. Naruto tried to swim to shore, but the waves of the water pushed him around.
Kakashi's sharingan locked on Zabuza's hands as they started chanting handsigns in perfect synch. I slowly backed away from the water, putting my glasses back on my face and scooping up my quiver and bow. Just in time too, because a wave of water was coming right for us, Naruto screaming at the top of the wave. I held onto my glasses.
This is going to suck.
The water crashed into me and I held onto the tree for dear life; one hand over my glasses, the other holding my bow and my legs wrapped around a thick tree branch.
Once the water calmed down, I slowly climbed out of my tree, smoothing out my soaked clothes and yanking my hair out of it's soggy ponytail. Wet hair weighs a ton.
The rest of my team seemed just as disgruntled as me. Sasuke shivered, shaking water of his ears, Naruto hacked and coughed, and Sakura ran her fingers through her soaked hair. Tazuna freaked out about a missing bottle of Sake.
We gathered around our sensei, watching as Kakashi held Zabuza against a tree with a kunai to his neck.
"But how?" Zabuza croaked. "Can you predict the future?"
"Yes, and in your future, I see death." Kakashi replied.
I turned around, covering my ears. I didn't need to hear or see any of that. A few moments later, someone tapped my shoulder and I turned back around.
Zabuza was gone, and my team looked rather unhappy.
"What happened?" I asked.
"A Kiri hunter-nin came and killed Zabuza," Sasuke sighed. "Then he carried him off."
Kakashi's eyes widened.
"Wait, something isn't-"
Kakashi never finished his sentence though, because he promptly passed out. I winced when he hit the ground.
"Well, I suppose we should try and get him to my place." Tazuna sighed.
And so, with a lot of effort, the four of us, soaking wet, carried Kakashi away.
As I walked and sniffled though, my mind was lingering on my inner thoughts.
This is as far as my knowledge goes, so what happens next? And will my presence be helpful or hindering?
