The moment that sword had sailed over our heads the white rabbit had taken off. I would've too if I had a choice. Sure, I could take off, but that wouldn't be very helpful to anyone.

My knees shook uncontrollably, but I was glad to see I wasn't the only one. Sakura's whole body trembled and Naruto had his fists clenched so hard the blood seeped out if his palm. Sasuke and I fared a little better, but the air was still suffocating.

I'm going to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die AGAIN. Right here. Right now.

"Everyone calm down!"

I hadn't even realized that my hand had slipped into my kunai pouch until I felt my fingertips graze metal. It had been so long since I had felt something as dark as this. A very long time. It had taken me quite a while to get over it with the help of Tenzo. However, I could never truly forget the feeling and the sight of all that blood. Their blood.

"W-what is this?" Sakura stammered.

"Killing intent." I grit out through clenched teeth.

"That doesn't matter!" Naruto exclaimed, stepping forward. "I'll get this guy no problem!"

Kakashi's arm quickly shot out, blocking his student's way as he shook his head.

"No, Naruto," Kakashi said. "I don't quite think you understand the gravity of the situation."

"Naruto, that man is Zabuza Momochi, a man well known because he slaughtered his entire graduating class without batting an eye." I said with a shiver. "He's dangerous."

"Well, it seems like some of your genin are well educated." Zabuza chuckled. "But that won't get them anywhere in the real world."

Sakura looked especially broken after he said that. Books were her life, she studied endlessly to succeed as a kunoichi and impress Sasuke. However, in the real world, smarts did little to prevent your own death. It just wasn't good enough to be smart.

"All of you, stand back," Kakashi said, reaching for his headband. "And protect the client."

I had seen it before, but it was just all the more impressive in person. Watching the sharingan come to life in person just made this all seem so much more... Clear.

It was even clearer than ever before. The sharingan, the blood lust, the fear.

This is the world of shinobi, and things were real. Injuries were bound to happen, lives would be lost, and if everything went as it did in the show. There would be death.

I clenched my fists.

How could I possibly change things? Everything will end up the same as before.

There's nothing I can do.

What can I do?

The three black tomoes swirled around Kakashi's pupil, in a pool of red which was his eye.

Zabuza yanked his sword out of the tree, gripping the handle and swinging int down.

I still hadn't moved from my spot. Pushing up my glasses as I analyzed the situation. My bow rested in my hand, my right hand free to react by grabbing an arrow or kunai.

When Zabuza charged, every one seemed to snap out of their daze, finally jumping into action. Sasuke took the front, Sakura; the rear, Naruto; the left, and I took the right.

Kakashi held a kunai, spinning it around once before catching it and lowering himself closer to the ground in a taijutsu stance. Zabuza chuckled, shouldering his heavy blade.

"Seems like I get to see the legendary sharingan," He chuckled. "What an honour!"

Sasuke flinched, his hand darting towards his kunai pouch. I gave him a quick look, shaking my head. His clan was a sensitive topic, one that still stung him.

My legs tensed as Zabuza swung his sword, Kakashi quickly dodging by hopping over the blade. Tazuna crossed his arms, sighing in displeasure. I glanced at Tazuna with a frown. My eyes shifted back over to the battle.

Kakashi pushed back the sword with a kunai, his feet digging into the ground as the bigger blade pushed him back. The sword eventually overpowered the kunai and Kakashi dodged, rolling to the right. Zabuza's momentum carried him forward and his grabbed Kakashi's arm, making his eyes widen. He hurled Kakashi across the field, making him land in the sea, which wasn't very far away.

I bit the inside of my cheek, feeling my wings twitch. Naruto went to lunge forward but was quickly grabbed by Sasuke, who held him back.

"We can't go in blind, Naruto." He scolded. "Wait until Kakashi-sensei surfaces, then we can form a plan based on what happens."

Naruto growled and yanked his arm away from Sasuke, storming back to his position.

"Fine!" He huffed. "But I still don't like this!"

"Neither do I." I frowned, narrowing my eyes and pushing my glasses onto my head.

My farsightedness helped immensely. I could see Kakashi crawling out of the water, standing on top of the surface. Before he could move however, Zabuza was next to him, weaving handsigns.

"Water style: water prison jutsu!" He exclaimed, scooping Kakashi into a ball of water.

Kakashi was swept off his feet- litterally - and was enveloped by a ball of water.

"Run!" He screamed, his voice wavering. "You can't beat him! I lost the second he caught me! Take the bridge builder and go!"

A clone made of water picked up the long sword, standing in front of the real Zabuza. I bit my cheek harder, fist clenched around my bow. I drew an arrow, lighting it on fire before releasing it. The arrow cut through the air, making a screeching sound as it soared. The clone was caught off guard and the firey arrow grazed the clones arm, making it burst into water. The sword clattered to the ground.

"We can't leave!" I yelled back. "Sure, the real Zabuza can't get us while you're trapped, but what says he won't just release you and come after us! He could even send a clone after us!"

Sasuke nodded, turning to the rest of us as Zabuza made another clone.

"We need a plan." He said.

Naruto grinned, and Sakura nodded. I appluad her for putting on a brave face in a situation such as this. Our moment didn't last long however, the Zabuza clone wasn't giving us anymore time to plan. He charged at us suddenly. Sasuke quickly looked at Naruto and I, scenarios running through his mind.

I looped my bow over my head and arm, pulling out a kunai and leaping in front of my team.

"I suck at hand-to-hand combat, so you better come up with a plan fast!" I exclaimed, charging into battle foolishly.

Some may say I was playing the hero, and yes, I probably was. But my team needed to go on and it was up to me to help them. I came back from the dead, maybe I can do it again? Either way, I wasted my last life, now I have a chance to do something.

A chance at renewal.
