~5~
I can only imagine how strange our group looks. We're being led by a man with almost his whole face covered reading a strange orange book while giggling, next to him stands an eight year old boy, and behind them is around twenty people wearing animal masks. Definitely a weird group.
We didn't spend much time walking, Kakashi wanted to go faster so everyone started running at incredible speeds while I hung onto Kakashi's shoulder. If I were in any other situation I would just fly overhead and follow them instead of helplessly holding onto some guy I just met.
We ran for roughly five hours before a tall wall made of what I assume is stone came into view. We all stopped running and Kakashi let me off his back, leading us to the entrance. Two men sat at the gate, one of them was sleeping and the other was shuffling through paper work.
"Hey Kakashi, back from the mission already?" The man with black hair asked as the other man slept.
"The mission was over faster than we expected, and besides, we weren't suppossed to engage the enemy." Kakashi replied.
"Just sign this and then report to the Hokage, as usual." The guard said lazily before his eyes drifted to me and widened. "Who's the kid?"
"This is Yuuto, we found him on the mission." Kakashi replied, placing his hand on my head.
The guard looked at me in pity. "Oh, I see. You're taking him to the Hokage right?"
"Yes." Kakashi answered.
"See you around then." The guard said, taking the clipboard back.
"See ya!" Kakashi said cheerfully.
The group of mask wearing people dispersed, leaving just me and Kakashi to go talk to the Hokage. Fun.
We walked in silence until we came to the large red building, from what I saw in the anime, this is the Hokage's office, but it also has many other functions. We eventually came to a long staircase, making me stop to glare at them.
These stupid fucking stairs were what killed me!
Kakashi stared at me, rasing an eyebrow. I eventually stopped glaring at the stairs and began climbing them, stomping my feet harshly as I walked up.
Take that stairs!
Kakashi shook his head, but for the most part ignored me. Once we came to the actual office, Kakashi knocked on the door, waiting patiently for the classic, 'come in.'
"Come in." An older voice ordered.
The Copy Nin shoved the door open and walked in casually, giving the Hokage a lazy wave.
"You're back early!" He chuckled. "I thought you were always late!"
I held back a laugh. It would be strange if I laughed considering I don't know them personally. The Hokage stopped chuckling once he noticed me and cleared his throat.
"Kakashi, who is this child?" He asked, leaning forward.
Kakashi pushed me forward, making me stand in front of the intimidating old man.
"My name is Yuuto." I said, stepping forward.
"Where is your family?" He asked.
I froze. My small hands shook in anger, reacalling how I turned away from them when they were dying.
"Dead." I replied, trying to keep the shakiness from my voice.
Kakashi and the Hokage both paused, they looked at me with pity and sympathy, making my anger rise. I don't want your sympathy, or your pity, I want my parents back!
"How old are you?" The Hokage asked, changing the topic.
"Eight." I replied.
The Hokage gave me a kind smile, not a pity filled one, making me relax.
"How would you like to stay here in Konoha?" He offered.
"Yes please." I replied quickly.
I mean, where else would I go?
"Good, I will give you some money and a place to stay, Kakashi can show you around the village today." The Hokage said, giving Kakashi his next mission.
The Hokage gave me a bag of money and an envelope. Written on the envelope was an address and inside was an apartment key.
"Lastly, what about going to school? Would like to go to civilian school or the Ninja Academy?" He asked seriously.
"The Academy." I decided.
No way in hell am I going to pass up an offer to be a ninja! I'm living in an anime!
"Good, then you will start school first thing tomorrow. The Academy starts at 7:30 and Kakashi will show you where it is." The Hokage said.
"Thank you." I said, bowing my head a little.
"No problem Yuuto." The Hokage replied, flashing another reassuring smile.
"We'll be going then." Kakashi said, giving another lazy wave.
"Yes, dissmissed." The Hokage agreed, giving us a wave goodbye.
Kakashi led me out of the office and back down the evil staircase, me glaring at the stairs the whole way down. We wondered around the village, Kakashi showing the the Hokage mountain, Academy, resturaunts, and lastly clothing stores.
"I'll wait here for you while you get some better clothes." Kakashi said, leaning against the building and pulling out that orange book.
I walked into the men's clothing store and started looking through the endless racks of clothes. Everything seemed to be brightly coloured, skin tight or both. No thank you! I went towards the back of the store and found a lot more clothing in black.
"Hallelujah." I mumble to myslef.
I sifted through the mountains of clothes until I found something I could see myself wearing. It was a black tank top, black pants, black studded belt, grey vest sweater with a hood, black ninja sandals and some black gloves with some sort of chakra metal.
I took the outfit to the counter, waited for the total, paid, and walked out, meeting Kakashi in front of the shop.
"You must really like black." Kakashi noted, not looking away from his book.
"What'd you expect? Bright colours?" I replied sarcastically.
"You're by far the strangest eight year old I've ever met." Kakashi muttered.
"Thank you, I will remember that." I replied, rolling my yellow eyes.
Kakashi cleared his throat and changed the topic. "Now I think I should show you to your new apartment."
"Lead the way good sir!" I replied, dramatically bowing.
Kakashi rolled his visible eye and started walking, not bothering to reply to my sarcastic comment. Eventually we wound up at an older looking apartment building, one that clearly had been cared for by the village for a long time. Kakashi started walking up the stairs leading me to the second level and opened the second door using the key from the envelope.
"This is your new home!" Kakashi exclaimed cheerfully, shoving me inside. "See ya!"
Kakashi disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving me in the doorway of my apartment, holding the key, envelope, and a bag of new clothes.
"Uh, thanks?" I said to Kakashi, who was already gone.
I shrugged and walked into my apartment looking around at all of the new space. Once I walked in I could see a small living room and a Kitchen with seats to sit at. Down the hallway was one master bedroom and one big bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink, along with cabnets for storage.
I searched through the bathroom until I found a pair of scissors, I took out my new black tank top and cut two holes in the back, holes that my wings could slip through in case of emergencies. I unfurled my tail and let it hang loosely so it touched the floor.
I put on the rest of my outfit and hid my wings and tail again, deciding that I need to get used to it. I looked at my reflection and noticed it was blurry again.
"Looks like I'm getting glasses today..." I sighed.
I locked my new home and set out to find an eye doctor, already thinking of what colour glasses I should get.
"School tomorrow, great." I mumble to myself.
I died just to go to school again.
