~11~
My new alarm clock went off at 5:00am, luckily I didn't break this one. Seriously, most of the money I get every month goes to alarm clock insurance, which I actually didn't know existed until a few weeks ago.
I'm suppossed to be at the training ground right now, but if I remember correctly Kakashi shows up like three hours late, so if I get there in at least an hour and a half I should be good.
I climb out of bed and throw on my clothes, I don't bother with the hood because my hair isn't brushed yet. I walked to the bathroom and adjusted my glasses before brushing my hair into a ponytail. I grabbed an apple from the kitchen and left my apartment, locking the door and slipping the key into my pocket.
"Time to go." I mumbled to myself.
~Three hours later~
I finally fucking made it! Kakashi had just shown up at the training ground and was giving me a confused look.
I had my hands on my knees and was bent over, breathing heavily. My once perfect ponytail now had hair sticking up in all directions.
"Why are you so late!?" Sakura shrieked.
"What took you so long!" Naruto yelled.
Sasuke scowled and Kakashi shook his head.
"Someone's pet ostrich got out and started chasing me around the village! I think it was trying to peck my eyes out!" I said in between breaths.
"Lies!" Sakura and Naruto shrieked.
"I'm not kidding!" I yelled, stomping my foot down.
~Earlier~
"Fuzzy! Get back here!"
"What?" I quickly turned around only to see an ostrich charging towards me. "Holy shit!"
Needless to say, I fucking ran.
~Present~
"And that's why I'm late!" I finished telling my story, with a huff.
Kakashi nodded his head and my other teammates looked at me in disbelief.
"Anyways, onto what we were supposed to do today." Kakashi said, setting down a clock. "You all have until noon to get a bell, those of you who don't get a bell will be tyed to one of those posts and watch the rest of us eat and be sent back to the Academy."
Kakashi set down three bento boxes and waved three bells in front of our faces.
"All weapons are permitted." Kakashi added.
"Katana?" I asked.
"Yes Yuuto." He replied.
"But sensei!" Sakura gasped. "That's dangerous!"
Kakashi ignored Sakura and lept away.
"Begin."
Sasuke, Sakura and me jumped into the trees on the side. Sakura hid in a bush, me and Sasuke hid in the trees, Naruto however decided to face our problem... Head on. This is going to be great.
"Compared to the others you seem kind of.... Stupid." Kakashi said.
"Oh yeah?! Well your hair is stupid!" Naruto retorted.
"Lesson one, taijutsu." He said before charging at Naruto.
Kakashi reached into his weapon pouch, everyone tensed, expecting him to pull out a weapon. Everyone relaxed however when they realised it was only a book.
"You won't be able to read and fight me!" Naruto yelled, aiming a punch at Kakashi.
Kakashi caught his punch and quickly tossed him into the river nearby. Shadow clones exploded out of the river and swarmed Kakashi. Kakashi simply turned into a clone of Naruto and made them fight until they disapeared. Kakashi clearly used a substitution jutsu because he was no where in sight.
Naruto looked around for Kakashi and smiled when he saw a bell laying on the ground, clearly a trap. Naruto grabbed the bell anyway and was caught in a trap, hanging by his ankles from a tree. I shook my head, but tensed the moment I heard a scream, a very Sakura like scream. I figured Naruto could wait, so I hopped over to Sakura to see what happened.
I hid in the trees right above Sakura and took off my glasses to see her better. Turns out she was just in a genjutsu and passed out. I put my glasses back on and lept down beside Sakura, I placed my index finger on her forehead and pumped chakra into her. She quickly bolted awake and looked around frantically.
"Sasuke!" She exclaimed.
I put my hand over her mouth and ran away from that spot as quickly as I could.
"We can't give away our location." I whispered, looking around for Kakashi.
"Very smart Yuuto."
"Shit!" I said, quickly pulling out my katana and standing in front of Sakura protectively.
Kakashi blocked my katana with a kunai and jumped back to avoid my swing. I leaned over to whisper to Sakura.
"When I say the word 'ninja,' do the substitution jutsu with something as far away as possible." I ordered, keeping my voice low.
Sakura simply nodded her head, still shaken up from whatever that genjutsu was. I charged at Kakashi with my sword raised, stalling for Sakura to recover.
"Smart thinking Yuuto, keeping Sakura quiet and moving locations." Kakashi said, parrying my katana.
"Thanks sensei." I replied, smirking. "But it's all part of being a NINJA!"
Sakura quickly dispeared, leaving a log in her place, me leaving right after her. I appeared somewhere near Naruto and decided to ask if he needed some help, but only if he promises to help me.
"Psst, Naruto." I whispered once I was close enough.
"Yuuto?" Naruto asked, looking around.
"If I cut you down, will you help me get the bells from Kakashi-sensei?" I asked.
"Sorry Yuuto, but if I'm going to be Hokage I have to do this alone!" Naruto said.
"How do you expect to do this alone if you can't even get out of a simple trap?" I replied, rolling my eyes.
"Uh... I'll think of something." He said.
"Whatever, I'll go ask Sasuke for help." Without waiting for an answer I went to find Sasuke.
I heard Sakura scream again and I followed the sound, where I found Sasuke burried up to his neck in dirt.
"I always knew you were a stick in the mud, but wow." I chuckled to myself once I was within earshot.
Sakura was passed out cold and Sasuke was scowling at me.
"Tell you what, I'll help you out if you agree to help me fight Kakashi-sensei." I offered.
"I don't need help from a looser like you." Sasuke replied.
"Fine then, maybe Sakura will help me." I sighed, picking up the unconcious Sakura. "Have fun getting out of that on your own."
But before I could wake Sakura up and ask her, the clock went off, signalling it was noon and according to Kakashi, failed.
I carried the unconcious Sakura back to where Kakashi was waiting, feeling like a forgot something. I looked back and saw Sasuke still stuck in the ground, glaring at me. I sighed, placed Sakura down, and went back over to help Sasuke out of the ground. When we got back there, Sakura was still unconcious and Naruto was tied to a wooden post.
"Somebody wake Sakura up." Kakashi sighed.
"Anybody got a water bottle?" I asked.
Kakashi tossed me his water bottle. I unscrewed the lid and poured a little on Sakura's forehead, making her snap awake.
"Sasuke!" She shrieked once she was conciouss.
"He's fine." I said, calming her down.
"I'm happy to tell you all that none of you will be headed back to the Academy." Kakashi said, making Naruto and Sakura cheer, however, Sasuke and I looked suspiciously at him.
"But all I did was pass out..." Sakura mumbled not so quietly.
"That's right, you're all being dropped from the program." He said. "Permanitely."
Sasuke charged at Kakashi in anger, but within a second, Kakashi was on top of him with a kunai to his neck.
"Sakura, kill Naruto or Sasuke dies, Yuuto kill Sakura if she doesn't." Kakashi said, glaring at us.
Sakura trembled in fear, Sasuke actually looked scared, Naruto screamed, and I think I actually was terified there for a moment. Kakashi got off Sasuke before continuing.
"Things like that will happen on missions, and if you're not carefull someone will die." Kakashi said. "Those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum."
Everyone looked a little ashamed, I just looked satisfyed.
"The point of this was teamwork!" Kakashi exclaimed. "None of you bothered to help Yuuto when he went to each of you and was right in front of you."
Sakura looked down in shame, Naruto looked at me with a sorry look, and Sasuke glared at the ground.
"After lunch I'm giving you all a chance to try again, but don't feed Naruto or you fail." Kakashi said before disapearing into the bushes.
I took a few bites of my food before turning to Naruto.
"You hungry Naruto?" I asked, holding up my bento.
Naruto was going to reply, but his stomach answered for him. I stood up and started feeding Naruto some food, Sasuke and even Sakura following my lead after. The clouds suddenly became dark and Kakashi appeared behind us.
"You all dare defy me?" Kakashi roared, making handsigns. "What do you all have to say for yourselves?!"
"T-the four of us are one!" Sakura yelled, being as brave as she could.
"Yeah!" Naruto agreed, nodding rapidly.
"What they said!" I agreed.
"Hn." Pretty sure that's how Sasuke agrees without saying too much.
"You!" Kakashi boomed. "Pass."
All anger left his voice as he stared at us with a smile.
"We passed!" Naruto and Sakura cheered.
"Meet me at the Hokage's office at 6:00am tomorrow for our first mission." Kakashi said before walking away.
The rest of us also walked towards our home's to prepare for tomorrow.
"I feel like I'm forgetting something." I mumbled. "Oh well."
With a shrug I headed home, not remembering that we left Naruto there tied up.
