Ren Guang was born in a low class household, living in a small village with his father. His original name was Wu Chen. His parents are not good people. They argue constantly and always tend to take their anger out on either each other or on Wu Chen.

At the age of ten, his village chief, Shang Shouxi, was able to help Wu Chen by taking him to a sacred mountain to learn about cultivating. It was also a place where those who wish to follow this path, but had no family, could go.

His master was named Gu Taio.

The name Ren Guang was given to Wu Chen by Baoshan Sanren. Wu Chen went through a heavenly trial which caused him to be severely injured and even felt shamed to return to the heavens afterwards. He later crosses paths with Lan Xichen of the Gusu Lan Sect.

Located on Mount Taicang. A place where homeless children go to learn about cultivation and even learn new potential about themselves.

Immortal being located in Celestial Mountain. Was said to never leave and not get involved with the politics of the sects...that was until Wei Wuxian had been taken into her care and him and his cultivation partner, Lan Wangji, became her newest disciples.

Lan Xichen was removed from his mother's care as soon as he was born. Since his father Qingheng-Jun was in seclusion, he was raised by his uncle Lan Qiren.

Lan Qiren was a strict instructor for Lan Xichen and his younger brother Lan Wangji, as he was determined that his nephews would not repeat their father's errors.

They eagerly anticipated the one day every month that they were allowed to see their mother. Unfortunately, Lan Xichen was less than nine years old when Lan Qiren informed them that they had no need to visit her anymore; their mother had died.

Lan Xichen has been through a lot. Manipulation, humiliation, and endured non-consensual sexual acts by Jin Guangyao. Ren Guang was the first person to be by his side and helped him through his trauma. Later the two form a special bond with each other.

Former member of the Gusu Lan Sect. Left the sect after Wei Wuxian's death and taken in by Baoshan Sanren. With her help, they resurrected Wei Wuxian and the two became immortals and cultivation partners.

7.) Birth Name: Wei Ying
Courtesy Name: Wei Wuxian

After resurrection, became an immortal with his husband Lan Wangji. Former member of the Yunmeng Jiang Sect, but now is a disciple of Baoshan's. He and Wangji currently live in a house they own in the outskirts of Gusu.

8.) Birth Name: Wen Yuan
Courtesy Name: Lan Sizhui

Adopted by Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian. Later becomes a disciple of Baoshan Sanren.
