The silence in the room was so deafening, you could hear a pin drop from three rooms away, and this room was supposed to be soundproofed.

"I beg your pardon?" Lan Wangji believed that he heard wrong. How could He Xuan, a man who was older than him, whom he had known for all his life, was actually his son? Yet, knowing how Wei Wuxian was, it was not really a far-fetched idea. Still...

"Yes Xianxian, please tell everybody how you did your experiment right before the clock was resetting." Xie Lian sighed and waved his hand. "I believe I don't have any energy left to speak anymore. And I have to find out if you have anymore… experiments out there."

Everyone was looking at Wei Wuxian, waiting for her explanation, including He Xuan, who was flabbergasted by the unexpected turn of events. He was here to upgrade his suit, and he found out that he was actually the son of his younger god brother and his fiance? That sounded like a cheap sci-fi flick, but judging from the scenes from yesterday? He did not know what to believe anymore.

"Yes please, I would also like to hear how I, a man who is clearly older than you two, turns out to be your… offspring." 

Wei Wuxian sighed and she sat on a chair in front of Xie Lian and composed herself before she started to talk.

"Well, it all started from an experiment, to see if I could merge my alien DNA, with Lan Zhan's… well, sort of human's DNA, to see if we can… conceive." Wei Wuxian looked so sheepish, and Lan Wangji held her hands tight. He had not yet known about this… new development. "It was in our past life, Lan Zhan, I don't know if you had gained your previous memory yet, but I saw how you're looking at children, and I know that you're going to be a great dad, but I could not risk having a baby when I did not know if the combination of our DNA would be… fatal for the child."

"So you tried to experiment with our DNA first? To see the probability and the compatibility?" Lan Wangji never knew that he could love Wei Wuxian more than he already did, but the shocking confession just proved him wrong.

"Yes. I don't want our child, if there should be one, to suffer from the backlash of our genetic makeup. Hell, I didn't even know if the merging was a success or not. But before I was able to conclude the experiment, our time suddenly reset, and I forgot everything about it, until now." Wei Wuxian looked at He Xuan with a forlorn look on her face. "Xie Lian, are you sure, like 100% sure that he had my DNA? I mean, no offense He Xuan, you're super fine and you definitely fit to be my son and all, but we need to be sure."

"Well, I'm 100% sure that his DNA is mirroring at least half of yours, for the nanites to be able to recognize it, and I'm also 100% sure that you're not listening to me." Xie Lian sighed. "I said mirroring not copying yours. Luckily, the reversal caused him to be a normal human. Added that he was put into the Yuwen's family, the holder of our secret, well… you're supposed to be a mad genius, can you still not figure it out?"

"Someone's been experimenting on my DNA?" Wei Wuxian gasped. "But who? And why?"

"It makes sense actually, from the almost-succeeded forced transmigration, the theft of your body, and now, this?" Lan Wangji started to see the whole clear picture. "Someone wants to create another you." And the realization made him shiver to his bones.

"And then the blood nanites that I created." Wei Wuxian's expression suddenly went cold. "Someone's been tracking my movement, stealing my works, and attempting to create another me. And maybe, because He Xuan is a human, the stalker just dumped him out since they did not need a human." And with that, everything clicked into their place.

"Whew, what a diehard stalker." Shen Qingqiu's mind was blown by the unexpected revelation, while Luo Binghe looked like he was just hearing some horror-thriller story. Liu Qingge on the other hand, showed some kind of blatant interest in what they had been talking about. Someone created a human hybrid out of alien-human DNA, that person must be someone super smart, like Wei Wuxian. Hua Cheng on the other hand, he did not say anything, just trying to absorb the batch of information he just heard.

"A stalker indeed." Xie Lian looked like he was thinking hard. "Do you think it's time for us to take off the seals?" He asked Wei Wuxian, who looked back at him with determination in his eyes.

"I think," he looked at Lan Wangji, and to his friends, and then to He Xuan, "if someone wants to hurt my family, we need to deal seriously with them, by taking off the seals. They must be someone extraordinary to be able to pull this shit off, and on top of that, how did they get my DNA? My force field would deflect and nullify anything that threaten my life."

"The key word here is threaten. What if it did not threaten your life? What if it was just a kid, or a dog, or even a bunny that scratches your skin. I seem to remember that you were overly fond of bunnies in your last life." Xie Lian pondered over the many variables that could have happened to Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji. He started to think that maybe they were all too careless with the absence of war and the prolonged peace, unlike when they first came into this world. Maybe they should start to exercise more vigilance, since there seemed to be invisible enemies that had started to threaten the peaceful times.

"I will prepare for the array, it will take around three days to create them, can you stay off of any problems until then?" Xie Lian then looked at Lan Wangji. "Please keep her out of trouble. Tie her to your bed if you must." 

"Don't worry, we will have a lot to talk about." Lan Wangji replied with a smile. 

"And with the seals off, we can restore your memories, unlike using those liquid drugs." Xie Lian nodded to Lan Wangji, then he turned to Xe Huan. "For now, we should finish the merge of the biotech into your son's body."

"Stop calling me that." He Xuan groaned. He still did not understand more than half of what they had been saying, and on top of that, his younger brother was now his alleged father and his fiance was his alleged mother? He really had to make sure that he was conscious instead of passing out from sex coma somewhere back in his penthouse with Shi Qingxuan. 

Wait. 

Shi Qingxuan was their cousin. Was she also…

"Shi Qingxuan… she…?" He asked Xie Lian, who chuckled.

"Don't worry, she's a human. She's just the descendant of someone who knew us a long time ago, just like Yuwen Mo. And you are also a human too, don't worry. Although you do have a longer lifespan than ordinary humans. A lot longer."

"Yeah, like maybe somewhere in hundreds." Wei Wuxian had started to merge the biotech into He Xuan's body. The process was fast, and painless, since He Xuan was practically Wei Wuxian's doppelganger. Well, half. The other half belonged to Lan Wangji. "So, son, you like the little sparrow?"

"Oh god, please don't call me that, it's creepy." He Xuan was shivering from imagining that he had to call his younger brother…

"And call me dad, son." Lan Wangji's face was super serious as he patted He Xuan's shoulder.

"Oh for fuck's sake." He Xuan groaned and everyone laughed. 

"Does this mean I am your uncle?" Hua Cheng grinned at the thought of He Xuan calling him uncle.

"In your dream." He Xuan looked back at Wei Wuxian. "What do you mean somewhere in the hundreds? My lifespan will be that long?

"Yeah, and with these babies, you will not get sick, or poisoned, or killed, and they will regenerate your cells faster than you can say gesundheit." Wei Wuxian grinned. "Let's just say that it's a gift from your mom."

Xie Lian rolled his eyes in amusement.

"Look guys, as much as we are happy because you guys have found each other, there are more questions than answers here." Shen Qingqiu started to talk, his lawyer mind was at overdrive, adding and subtracting the facts. "And the most important thing that we would like to know is, you guys said previous life. How the hell are you able to remember your previous life? I want to know more about that, please."

"Qiuqiu, it was actually more like previous lives. And yes, I will tell you all about it, after I finish upgrading my son here."

He Xuan groaned hearing those words. From what he was able to deduct so far, Wei Wuxian was an absolute menace, a mad genius scientist, although rather absentminded, and she loved Lan Wangji so much to be willing to experiment to have a child. He still had so many things to ask, and so much to know about his so-called parents, but right now, he was content to be the receiving end of the unexpected pampering from Wei Wuxian. Everything else could wait.
