Fireflies ignite the sky

they spin

to cast their light upon

a forgotten log

it lays alone.

But still...

Sunlight caresses its memory

and moss begins its embrace

while fireflies dance.

and instead of facing death alone

it's covered in emerald bliss

where time cannot dismiss

the beauty that once was,

and yet....

still is.
