Harry smiled at the pictures that Colin took of (Y/N) this week. He was currently in his dorm room and no one was around since they were busy chatting with Fred and George Weasley, the fun outgoing twins of the Gryffindor house, in the common room.

Scanning the pictures, Harry couldn't help but admire Colin's talent for taking pictures this well. He probably wouldn't be able to take pictures of (Y/N) without the camera shaking.

It was easy to convince the young boy to take pictures of her, especially since he idolized Harry. The black haired boy wouldn't be suspected if he told Colin that he just wants to surprise (Y/N) with these pictures on her birthday.

Terrible lie, but Colin bought it anyway. It's not like he'll tell (Y/N) about it anyway since Harry specifically told him to not get caught or tell her about it.

He took advantage of Colin's naivety, but it's not like he cares about that.

Smiling, Harry looked at every pictures and thought about how adorable (Y/N) was when she was all by herself. The way she tucked her hair behind her ear, the way she smiled while talking to her Hufflepuff peers, and the way she walked through the halls of the castle with her mind somewhere else.

From her messy nine-year old appearance, (Y/N) sure grew up to be a clean and a somewhat elegant teenage girl. She grew prettier, and Harry knew she would - she was easily the prettiest girl in Hogwarts in his eyes.

However, his smile disappeared when he thought about how no one really approached (Y/N) because she was too messy and boy-ish as a child. Now that she grew up beautiful, wouldn't that mean that boys will come flocking to her soon enough?

Wouldn't that mean that (Y/N) will soon be in a relationship?

Harry could feel himself trembling in anger when he thought about a random boy giving (Y/N) kisses and cuddling with her by the fireplace. Eventually, even she would start to forget about Harry and put all of her attention on that bastard instead.

He absolutely couldn't let that happen.

As the door to his room creaked open, Harry immediately tucked the pictures inside a random book. The one who entered was Ron, who stopped in his tracks when he saw how Harry looked like he was in a rush to hide something.

"What's that?" asked Ron as he gazed at the book on Harry's lap.

"Nothing." replied Harry, who gently tucked the book inside his bag. Ron didn't look convinced but didn't want to pry any further since it does look private. The red-haired boy hummed and walked towards his bed.

"Hey, do you wanna go eat in the Great Hall together?" asked Ron.

"Err..." Harry hesitated. He wasn't in the mood to hang out with Ron. In fact, he was about to leave and check to see if (Y/N) was still in that bloody hospital wing with Cedric. Every students were free tomorrow since it was Saturday, maybe he could even ask her to go to the Gryffindor common room tomorrow.

"Sorry, I'm kinda busy right now." answered Harry as he stood up from his four-poster bed. Ron frowned and understood why he was 'busy' for the rest of the week. Merlin, he hasn't even been talking much to him and Hermione since classes started.

Ron always observed how Harry would often look at (Y/N) from the Gryffindor table and not even pay attention to him and Hermione when they're talking. He would always looks like he's in a rush to get somewhere, and Harry doesn't want to disclose why, even though Hermione kept pestering him about it.

He found it creepy, to say the least. It's only been a week since classes started and Harry's already acting odd. Ron couldn't think that it's just him missing his childhood friend anymore if he's that obsessed.

Merlin, at this point, Ron was starting to think that Hermione wasn't overreacting with her assumptions about Harry.

"Mate, shouldn't you... maybe, stop oogling at (Y/N) so much?" Ron finally spoke up before Harry could leave the room, causing the black haired boy to turn around and look at him with an emotionless expression.

"What do you mean?" asked Harry.

"You keep staring at her this week that it's getting kinda creepy. I know you miss the girl but it's not like she's going anywhere." said Ron as he cleared his throat and tried to look away from Harry's almost-soulless green eyes.

Harry paused, staring at his best friend for a moment and contemplated about shouting at him for not understanding how he feels about (Y/N). However, he just ended up smiling at him, slightly tilting his head to the side.

"Don't worry about it too much, Ron." said Harry. "I'm just making sure that she's doing fine in Hogwarts, that's all. Especially since she just came back from Japan. It's only natural for her best friend to keep looking out for her, right?"

Ron frowned, not really liking the excuse that Harry keeps putting up for himself. Nonetheless, he didn't want to start an argument in their own dorm room and he still wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt that Harry wouldn't just go bat-shit crazy because of a girl.

Harry's unstable due to his upbringing, but not to the point of insanity. At least that's what Ron thinks.

With a sigh, Ron nodded and flashed Harry a weak smile. "Yeah..." He replied. Harry knew that Ron was only forcing himself to agree, but it was better than starting an argument in their shared dorm room. Harry wasn't up for screaming at the moment, not now anyway.

As Harry left the room without saying anything, Ron sighed and collapsed on his own bed, leaving the Weasley to retreat back into his own thoughts.

"...and that's why I'll be taking you to the cinema when the year is over." Once (Y/N) finished explaining about how movies needed to be watched in cinema and not in TV screens as it might ruin the watcher's experience, she flashed the boy in the hospital bed with a smile.

Cedric chuckled at the girl's explanation. "Alright, alright. That's a promise." said Cedric with a laugh. "Once this school year ends, you have to take me to a cinema. I'll be paying for the food."

"I'll be in charge of the movie choice and the tickets then." said (Y/N) as she laughed along with the boy. Through their laughter, the mediwitch of Hogwarts trotted towards Cedric's bed, the heels of her shoes clicking on the floor.

"Mr. Diggory, you'll be free to go when it's time for dinner." said the woman as her eyes drifted towards (Y/N), who stopped laughing and stood up from her seat, bowing at her.

"Hello, I hope I'm not intruding." said (Y/N) while raising her head up. The mediwitch hummed and looked back at Cedric, a small smile curling on her lips.

"My, I didn't expect you to get a girlfriend this earlier on in the year." She chuckled. "Then again, you are a very handsome boy - it was bound to happen one way or another."

Both of the Hufflepuffs' faces turned red, their eyes widening at the woman's words. "W-We've only known each other for a week..." (Y/N) muttered and started to play with her fingers nervously, her face still red when she mentioned that she was Cedric's girlfriend.

"Madam Pomfrey, she's just a friend..." Cedric replied to the mediwitch's words as he cleared his throat. His face was just as red as (Y/N)'s.

"Oh, aren't you that student who came here at Hogwarts from Japan?" asked Madam Pomfrey when she realized that she hasn't seen a face like (Y/N) before in Hogwarts. The girl nodded in response, smiling at the mediwitch.

"Well, a lucky girl, aren't you?" The older woman laughed while slightly nudging at Cedric's arm. "Catching the eye of the most handsome boy in Hogwarts - can't be anymore luckier than that."

The two Hufflepuffs became more flustered and started waving their hands around in denial in front of the mediwitch. Both of them really only saw each other as friends for now, and none of them really want to be in a relationship with the other.

"I-I really don't see Cedric that way, Madam Pomfrey...!" (Y/N) said as she felt her heart beating loudly inside her chest. "Besides, Cedric could certainly find a better girl than me."

Cedric stopped blushing and turned to look at (Y/N) with a confused look on his face. "Woah hey now, (Y/N). I've only known you for a week but I can tell that you're a really nice girl." said Cedric, causing the girl to look at him and share the confused look he has for her. "I don't know much about relationships, but if I had a girlfriend like you, then I'd be pretty happy, so don't put yourself down like that - any guy would be lucky to date someone like you." He said with a smile.

(Y/N) paused, staring at Cedric for a moment then felt her cheeks heat up and her ears turning red once those words left the boy's mouth. Cedric, who didn't realize that he was lowkey flirting with her, kept his confused look and only watched as the girl became flustered.

Madam Pomfrey watched the scene and could only smile to herself once she saw the two Hufflepuffs looking at each other as if they're in love. She's always wanted to see a boy like Cedric have someone who looked like he could be happy with for the rest of his life - especially since he's mostly only known for his good looks around the school.

The two students may not have noticed but Madam Pomfrey listened and watched those two for the past two hours - they looked close enough to be mistaken as if they're actually dating. Cedric's looks towards the girl doesn't even seem like he only sees her as a normal friend at this point.

And the three may not have noticed, but a certain Gryffindor was standing behind the hospital wing's doorway and listened to the whole thing.

Harry didn't hold any emotion in his face as he listened in on the conversation. He just kept his half-lidded and seemingly empty green eyes down on his hands, where his fingers played with the fake silver ring that had (Y/N)'s initials in it.

Oh, he was mad underneath that emotionless face. He just didn't want to show it, especially since a staff and (Y/N) is in the vicinity.

No one deserved to have (Y/N)'s attention like that. No one deserved to be her significant other if it meant that she would no longer love Harry back the way she loved him when they were younger.

Scoffing, he straightened himself and put up a fake nervous look on his face as he entered himself on the hospital wing. Playtime was over - he needed to take her back.

"Um..." He scanned the room and saw (Y/N)'s flustered expression. Harry's anger suddenly rose when he saw how she blushed in front of the Hufflepuff boy in the hospital bed, but he had to restrain himself from shouting at him. "Hey, (Y/N)." He said as he cleared his throat.

"Oh hey, Harry." (Y/N) smiled as she acknowledged the Gryffindor's presence in the room and tried to let the heat from her cheeks disappear. "Are you here to see Cedric too?"

'I don't care about him.' Harry thought spitefully but flashed the girl a smile as she walked closer to the group.

"Well, I wanted to check up on Cedric but I won't be staying for long. I'm actually here to ask you if you wanted to go to the Great Hall together."

"Eh? Is it already dinner?" asked (Y/N) as she tried to scan the room for a wall clock. "I didn't realize that it was already getting kinda late."

"Can Cedric come with us? Madam Pomfrey said that he'll be able to leave the hospital wing by dinner." asked (Y/N) while flashing Cedric a gentle smile.

'Stop looking at him like that.'

"Actually, I was hoping that... only the two of us can go." The group turned to look at Harry once those words left his mouth with a smile. He didn't even look like he was bothered or anything. "I um... kinda wanted to tell you something."

'Stop smiling at him.'

"Huh?" (Y/N) looked confused, but understood that Harry needed to tell her something in private. Then again, she couldn't just leave Cedric alone in the hospital wing.

'Stop feeling bad for him.'

Cedric, who felt like he needed to give the two childhood friends some space, opened his mouth to speak. "I'll just catch up, (Y/N)." He told the girl. "Save a seat for me in the Hufflepuff table, will you?" He joked.

Harry smiled briefly at the boy's words as she watched the conflicted (Y/N) nod in hesitation. It made him angry that she looks like she doesn't even want to be around Harry anymore.

And it's all
his
fault.

"I will." She put up a weak smile while slinging her bag over shoulder, waving at Cedric and Madam Pomfrey. "I'll see you later then."

Harry beckoned for the girl to follow him outside, but not before flashing Cedric a look of anger. His eyebrows furrowed and his empty green eyes seemingly glinted dangerously, causing the Hufflepuff's shoulders to jump in fear.

Harry looked like he was about to murder Cedric.

Before things went too far, Harry left the hospital wing and closed the door behind him, leaving Cedric frowning at the Gryffindor's actions as he ran his fingers through his dark brown hair.

'What's wrong with him?'
