1.25 ϟ Valentine's Day

[AUTHORS NOTE] Guys! I only have a few more chapters left to write. I can't believe how fast this story came up! Honestly I'm shocked!

So far, here are a few questions I have and would LOVE answered! And *cough* please don't be a silent reader *cough*

1. What have you thought so far? Have you enjoyed it?
2. What do you think of the characters? Personally Jacob is one of my favorites (*cough* check out Northern Lights). Have you thought they've blended well?
3. What about the plot? Would you be down to read a sequel?

Stay classy and loud :)

_____

Not a day had gone by that she hadn't been completely consumed by what had been in the locket. She couldn't look at Raelyn without thinking about it, she couldn't look at Harry with out seeing every similarity between them. Their thick mops of dark hair, their bright eyes that had a spark in them that was identical with to the one in Lily Potter's eyes in the pictures and in those memories. She couldn't help but think she had lost everything-- her entire life she had managed to believe she still had a father and mother. Her mother was murdered and now her father was either dead or on the run to avoid going back to Azkaban. Now, she knew that her real parents were dead and her aunt was dead while her uncle was missing. Hell, even the sister she had grown up with was a cousin now. Sure she had Harry, but she wasn't as close with him as she was with Raelyn.

"Remilda,"

Remilda quickly snapped out of her thoughts, only to see Hermione staring at her.

"Class is over," she said simply, eyeing her suspiciously. "are you coming to dinner tonight?" Hermione asked.

The past few nights Remilda had avoided dinner, or at least sitting with the group. She needed space to breath, to wrap her head around everything.

"Come on," Hermione sighed, "you've barely spoken to anyone for weeks."

Remilda forced out a small chuckle, "I guess I just don't have much to say." she said smoothly, "But, uh, yeah. I'll be there. I just have to stop at the restroom." she said as everyone was packing their bags up to leave the classroom.

Hermione offered her a smile, and went on her way to make her way to the Great Hall. Remilda took her time though, packing her bags. She wasn't in any rush at all. So she slowly made her way to the Great Hall. The restroom had just been an excuse to not go with Hermione.

"Remmy!"

She stopped and looked in the direction of the familiar voice of George Weasley.

"Hey, George." she smiled.

"You're actually going to dinner tonight?" he asked.

She nodded, "I'm hoping there's pancakes," she shrugged.

"Pancakes?" George echoed.

She nodded, "They're perfect for every meal." she confessed, "If you're going to ask me to try one of those sweets, it's still a no, and no I don't know where Fred is either."

"He's getting something ready for Filtch," George said nonchalantly.

"What are you two going to do to him?"

George smirked, "You'll find out soon enough," he sighed, "anyway, I actually wanted to ask you if you were planning on going to Hogsmead tomorrow."

Remilda shrugged, "Probably not, I don't really have a reason to..." she replied, "why?"

"Well, it's Valentine's Day, and it is tradition you know for me to take a prettier girl to Hogsmead than Fred will." he said, lightening the topic in a sad attempt to keep his cheeks from flushing too bright of a shade of red.

Remilda rose an eyebrow sharply, "Tradition?" she echoed, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to get her mind off of things for awhile, and it was a plus if it was George "How long has it been a tradition for?"

"Uh, well..." he drifted off, trying to think of a witty remark. "Two, maybe three years?"

"Hm," she hummed with a nod and a smirk, "then I suggest you ask Romilda Vane, or Lucy-"

"Blimey, Remmy. Are you going to make me come right out and ask you to go with me?"

She nodded, smiling a bit.

"Alright," he sighed heavily and cleared his throat dramatically, "Remilda, would you accompany me to Hogsmead so I can put my dear brother to shame since it is a tradition?" he asked dramatically stepping in front of her and walking backwards as he spoke.

Remilda giggled, but quickly put herself into a serious demeanor again, "One condition," she paused, "you don't call me Remilda. It sounds weird when you say it."

George smiled, "Deal."

That evening, dinner went by surprisingly smooth. Nobody asked questions about Remilda's regular absence from dinner, or anything like that. And Remilda allowed herself to think about the following day instead the memories from the locket which she hadn't worn since she saw the memories. Then once everyone had left dinner and Remilda had made her way back to the Gryffindor tower, and made her way to her room to have some peace and quiet while she busted out a charms essay so she would have to worry about it over the weekend.

However as she scribbled away at the parchment, and then read bits of her textbook; her mind kept wandering. Between a handful of things, but one of them was George Weasley and that wasn't all that bad. In all honesty, she knew that she had liked him for a few months at least. She just never admitted it, she had enough going on at the time. Not that she didn't have anything going on now...

"Well?" Lucy snapped her out of her thoughts and homework as she plopped down on the edge of her bed, "Did George ask you?"

Remilda rose an eyebrow, "How did you know?"

"Fred and Ron have been complaining about how much he talked about you and finally Fred just told him to ask you out," she explained simply.

"He talks about me a lot?" she asked, arching an eyebrow.

Lucy smirked, "Well? Did he ask you?"

Remilda couldn't a smile from spreading across her face and her cheeks flushed red, "As a matter of fact, he did," she replied.

Lucy smiled, "This is the most anyone has seen you smile for days." Lucy said crossing her legs in front of her as she turned to face Remilda. "Umbridge has been giving you more trouble?" she asked.

Remilda shrugged, "No more than usual I guess..." she replied, "just stuff with my dad and such..."

Was she even supposed to call him that?

The next morning, Lucy woke Remilda up early and demanded to help her get ready. Despite Remilda protesting and wanting to sleep longer than she already had, eventually Lucy won by simply beginning to dig through her clothes. Eventually, Remilda convinced Lucy to just let her wear a pair of dark jeans, and a light blue long sleeved shirt. And then after a little while, the girls dormitory was roaring with life. More than there should have been on a Saturday morning.

Back at Ilvermorny, there would have been obnoxious decorations everywhere for a good week before Valentine's Day. Usually, Valentine's Day was a good holiday. Sure it was nice to be able to have a reason and excuse to go out on a date during the school year when you lived at a boarding school. But there were some girls back home, like Hannah who took it too far. She was a hopeless romantic, every time someone needed decorating done for a Valentines Day party or something, she would be there.

Lucy and Remilda followed a group of girls down the winding stairs into the the common room. Down there, there were a few boys already waiting for their dates. Then the two of them hustled out of the Common Room to leave. Outside of the house, there were a handful of people waiting for their dates who were from Gryffindor house while they weren't.

"It's like this every year," Lucy told her.

"It's not that bad..." Remilda shrugged as she adjusted her grip on her jacket in her arms. "Are you going with anyone?"

Lucy quickly shook her head, "I'm meeting up with a few people later today. We'll probably just grab a butterbeer and something to eat at the Three Broomsticks."

"Three Broomsticks?" Remilda echoed.

"A much nicer pub there besides the Hogs Head." she replied.

There were a handful of couples who were meeting at the grand doors. Remilda hadn't really been nervous at all until she saw George talking with Lee Jordan and a few other students from his year as well as sixth years. She shouldn't have been nervous. She didn't really have that much of a reason to be. It wasn't like she didn't know George, she knew him pretty well actually. So it wasn't like a complete stranger has asked her and she was getting ready to go o a date. It was just here at the castle, everything was familiar. She knew where everything was, and she knew that there were other people to talk to. What if on this date things didn't go well? What if it was practically impossible to talk to him normally? If it went horribly, than that could just ruin their friendship that they did have.

Lucy elbowed her, "Don't chicken out now," she muttered, "you'll be fine." she assured her, "I'll talk to you later." then with that, Lucy went on her way to the Great Hall while Remilda (who had so many butterflies by then that she felt like she easily could have gotten sick) went to meet George.

"Hey," she said simply as she walked up to the group that George was talking to.

"Hey, Remilda," Angelina Johnson smiled nicely.

"Hey, Potter," Lee Jordan replied.

"Hey, Remmy," George greeted her, "ready?"

The two of them made their way out of the castle as they both slipped their jackets on. There were a handful of other duos and small groups making their way to Hogsmead. As they went along, Remilda felt the butterflies begin to go away.

"So what's on the agenda?" she asked, "I've only ever been to the Hogs Head."

"Not everything is that grubby," he told her, "we could do to Madam Paddifoots Teashop like everyone else is probably doing, or we could have a bit more fun. It's up to you really."

"Well, what sort of fun are you talking about?"

George smirked, "I realized that you have never really experienced a prank here yet, so instead actually pulling one on you, you could help pull one on everyone in that teashop." he suggested.

"But it's Valentine's Day! It's their date,"

"That's exactly why it would be more fun," George pointed out.

Raelyn thought about it, "What does it involve exactly?" she asked.

He shrugged, "Just a few dungbombs from Zonko's and whatever else we can find in there."

"Alright, but then I want to see what the Three Broomsticks is." she said as she allowed a smile to creep onto her face.
