1.12 ϟ Breaking the Rules

Reluntically, Remilda walked to Hogsmead with Lucy a little after Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Raelyn left. Remilda still wasn't sold entirely on the idea, but she wasn't going to fight all that much. It was worth hearing out, she could always just not sign up too. Nobody was going to force her hand to pick up the pen and sign up.

"Loosen up, Remilda," Lucy groaned, "people do each other's homework all the time."

"I could have done it myself, Lucy." she replied, "I didn't need what's his name to do it for me."

Lucy rolled her eyes, "He's written a few papers of mine, trust me he won't fail you." she assured her.

Remilda stared at her, "Lucy! It's cheating!"

Lucy threw an arm around her shoulders, "Remilda this meeting is going to be good for you." she sighed as they walked into the village.

Lucy led the two of them off of the main walk way and down a more narrow one, towards a small bunch of buildings that were a bit more...older. They were a bit older looking. By the time they got to the little building, Remilda had been beginning to feel the cold through her jacket so she was a bit glad to go into the old and dirty looking Hogs Head. The name itself made the place sound absolutely repulsive.

However the place was nearly empty, so as they made their way inside. It was easy to hear a group of kids at the back of the place. So the two girls slipped their jackets off as they made their way back. As they did, Remilda took in the surroundings. Cho Chang was there, Luna was there, Ginny was there, so was Neville, one of the first years that followed Harry around for the first few days; Nigel. Even Seamus was there, and the twins had come like they said. Then in a row was Hermione, Ron, Harry, and then Raelyn sat not far from them. Raelyn smiled and waved a bit as Remilda took a seat next to Fred and George, with Lucy on the other side of them.

"So she got you to come?" one of the twins asked, Remilda was positive that it was Fred. But she could have been wrong.

Remilda scoffed, "She didn't really give me much of a choice..."

Lucy smirked, "You'll be glad you came, Remilda. And if not, then oh well, it's a good story to tell your kids some day."

"About how you practically sold my homework?" she retorted, raising an eyebrow.

"Again, Remmy, you say that like it's a horrible thing." the twin beside her stated.

That's George, she thought to herself. He had been the only one who consistently called her Remmy since the beginning of the term.

Then suddenly the group was hushed by Hermione loudly clearing her throat as she stood up.

"Thanks for coming, everyone," she began, looking around at the group of students who were breaking rules by even being there. "we're holding this meeting to propose the idea of having a...a," she stammered, pausing to regather her thoughts. "we all know that Umbridge isn't teaching us anything, but we just need someone who can. Someone who's encountered it all outside of school." she said looking down at Harry and sitting down.

"Is it true that you can produce a full patronus?" a student asked.

"It is," Hermione chimed in, "I've seen it."

"He fought off at least one hundred dementors with it too." Ron added.

"And that sword in the Gryffindor common room," Neville started, "he killed a basilisk with it second year." he said eagerly.

"And is it true? That you-know-who is back?" Seamus asked, the question that everyone had been wondering.

Harry was quiet for a moment, and then slowly nodded, "But if that's why you all are here, you might as well leave," he stated. After he said that, people in the group began to shift uneasily.

"But if you-...if...Voldemort is back," Hermione paused, her skin went completely pale. "we need someone to teach us how to defend ourselves."

"Look, when you all say it like that...it sounds really good. But in most of those situations I had no idea what I was doing. And I had help from someone..."

"But you can produce a patronus, we haven't even learned that yet." Fred pointed out.

"You saw Voldemort kill Cedric," Lucy chimed in, her eyes were beginning to water. "you know what sort of thing is out there that we have to face."

The room was completely silent. You could have hear someone drop a needle. Remilda shifted uneasily in her seat as everyone began to glance at one another.

"So what do you think we should do?" Luna asked in a gentle tone.

Hermione cleared her throat and then pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil, "If you guys are interested in meeting as a extra class, a club sort of, you can sign up." she explained simply.

Without even skipping a beat, Lucy was up on her feet and went to sign the paper. The twins followed, followed by Raelyn, a few others-- Remilda didn't finally get up to sign until after most people were standing around, chatting about what sort of stuff they could do.

Remilda glanced at the paper again as she was leaving. Put of her was terrified the wrong person signed or the wrong people would find it. Part of her was terrified that she was going get detention. But the other part of her was excited.
