The sweet rustling of the leaves that brushed against each other as they drifted with the wind brought my attention back to the flower garden Levi had oh so kindly brought me to. I had been so focused on Levi, I had forgotten the actual reason I came here for.
"Levi... There's a reason I brought you here - well, technically, you brought me here." I told him softly.
He chuckled lightly, "And that reason is?" I heard - as well as felt - him speak. I felt his shoulder move up and down as he breathed; it was calming, as well as reassuring. His deep voice - but not too deep - was still as breathtakingly beautiful as the first time I had heard it.
"I love flowers," I said absentmindedly, "They truly are nature's wonder, such a pretty little thing they are," I paused, letting the silence fill the air before I spoke again, my tone soft and content, "I wanted to share this beauty with you, Levi. I wanted to share this moment with of you of piece as the leaves rustle."
For a while, neither one of us spoke a word. The only sound that could be heard was the occasional rustle of the autumn leaves as they danced with the breeze, and the steady breath Levi and I's breathing as we sat in silence.
"It is indeed beautiful," Levi spoke, breaking the comfortable silence between us, but what I didn't realise was that Levi wasn't talking about the flowers, no, no, he was talking about something else - or rather, someone else.
"What's your favourite type of flower?" I had asked, the words leaving my mouth before I had time to process what I had just said.
He was silent again, making me assume that he was thinking about his answer, "I'd guess they'd have to be... the Pink Carnation."
My face contorted into one of sorrow, "I don't like that flower, not because it doesn't look pretty - it does - it's just that... the meaning of it is... sad but loving at the same time."
I felt his gaze on me, "I know what you mean; that's why it's my favourite. I don't particularly like the look of it, but it's the meaning of the flower that sticks with me."
"I'll never forget you," I said quietly, "I'll never forget you," I repeated, a little louder this time. I turned my body to face him, or at least, I think I did, "I don't know why you would ever want to say those words to someone; those four words may mean nothing but they hold a special promise, a promise that should never, be broken. Because, if it is, it'll lead to the other being heartbroken."
"How very true that is." He agreed. There was something in his voice that stuck with me; it was sad - no, it wasn't just sad, his tone was laced with unshed tears, "Eren.."
"Yeah?"
"Even if you forget me, I'll never forget you. For my this is my favourite flower, and I shall give it to you," He spoke poetically; it was truly stunning. I heard a rustle of plastic being rubbed against each other as I sat up straight, no longer leaning on Levi and his warmth. He grabbed my hands, and placed something circular in them, "These..." He let go of my hands, "Are for you."
I gasped as I smelt the scent of what was placed in my hands; it was a nice scent, I couldn't describe it even if I wanted to, "Thank you... I have a pretty good idea of what these are... they're pink carnations, aren't they?"
"Yes, indeed, they are. At first, I was going to give you your favourite - Purple Hyacinths - but when I realised the meaning... I just had to give you these." He explained.
I turned to face him again, "Wait. How did you know Purple Hyacinths were my favourite?"
There was a pause, "Hanji... told me." There was slight hesitation in his voice. I knew he was trying to cover it up by speaking monotonously like he did almost every time he spoke, but that was all in vain for I managed to hear it anyway.
I hesitated, "....Okay." I decided to not push the matter any further, "I mean, thank you for the flowers, but you have nothing to be grateful to me for."
Pink Carnations have many meanings; one of them is 'I'll never forget you', the other... well, the other can be given as a sign of gratitude. In this case, I assumed that he gave those flowers to me for the latter.
"There are many things I am grateful to you for so please, just accept these flowers as a token of my gratitude." He spoke, formally, might I add.
No one had ever spoken to me formally, I wasn't used to it so I drew back in surprise, and if I still had my eyes, they'd probably widen in surprise as well, "I will. Thank you, Levi."
"Whatever."

After we spent about two more hours at the East Wing Garden, Levi decided that it was time to head back to my dull, old room. I didn't mind but I would've liked to stay there a bit longer though, we can't always get what we want.
Visitor hours ended at 6 o'clock so Levi had to leave very soon but I didn't want him to leave; I enjoyed his company very much - it was the most fun I had in a very long time. In a few years, to be exact.
Sure, I had my energetic Doctor who always wore a gigantic smile on her face, or so I've heard. She's funny and ecstatic most of the time, the only times she was serious is if there was an emergency or if she ever got mad. And let me tell, she is a beast when she's mad.
Please, don't ever piss her off.
Speaking of said Doctor, she just so happened to open to walk in at this very moment. Speak of the devil and she shall appear.
How did I know it was her? It's simple really, her voice is really loud and she talks constantly - nonstop - you could hear her from over a mile away. Possibly even more.
Levi seemed less than pleased when Doctor Zoe came into the room for he groaned really loudly, and the sound of skin slapping against the skin of his forehead was heard. I assumed that he facepalmed himself.
And no dirty thoughts, ya hear me? Yeah, I see you over there. You better wipe that stupid smirk off your damned face or there'll be hell to pay, you hormonal teen.
"EEEEEERRRREEEEEENNN! MY LITTLE TITAN BABY, HOW ARE YOU?!" She practically screamed, I wouldn't even be surprised if the whole damn world could hear her, "OH, LEVI! I didn't know you were here as well! How are you?!"
"I was better off without you here, four eyes," He responded with an exaggerated groan, "And so was the brat."
I huffed, crossing my arms in a child-like manner, "I'll have you know, I'm eighteen, certainly not a brat, in my opinion!"
"Eighteen? Well then, you're still a brat in my book." Levi retorted.
"Well, how old are you then?!" I asked as I felt my cheeks warming up in an alarming rate.
"I'm twenty-one."
I scoffed, "You're only three years older than me! That's hardly a large age gap."
"Eighteen and under are considered brats in my book." He explained.
"So when I turn nineteen in six months, will you stop referring to me as a brat?" I inquired hopefully.
"Nope." My mouth hung open, gaping at him, "Shut your mouth, your gonna catch flies." After he spoke those words, I immediately shut my mouth, my face getting warmer by the second.
Then, our of nowhere, I heard a certain someone we had neglected roar out in laughter; I could practically picture her wiping fake tears from her hazel eyes, smiling like a maniac. As she continued to laugh, I found myself grinning at the sound; it wasn't as beautiful and elegant as Levi's but it was still a wonderful sound to listen to.
All of a sudden, there was a loud snort that came from the one who was laughing. There was silence for a moment before all of us, excluding Levi, filled the room with sounds of happiness and amusement called laughter.
I heard a low chuckle from beside me as we continued to laugh; I assumed it had been Levi, seeing as he was the only one who hadn't burst into a bundle of joy. The laughter died down a bit after a few moments, and I soon forgot the reason why we had all burst out laughing, with the exception of Levi who only chuckled.
Finally, we had all stopped, but small giggles could be heard as Hanji and I tried to contain ourselves from bursting out once again, "I haven't.." I giggled, "..Laughed like that in..." Another giggle, "..So long.."
I heard Levi sigh in content and, at the same time, I felt a hand being placed over my own, giving me incredible warmth, "Never stop smiling, Eren. Your smile is beautiful."
My head shot towards him in what I hoped to be shock. My face flushed, my cheeks growing warmer by the second once again, "Th-thank you..?"
"I'm serious, you're smile could end wars." I had never been complimented like that before so I just sat there and 'stared' at him in awe, "And if you still had your eyes, I'm sure they'd light up whenever you would smile."
"That's.." I couldn't finish my statement as I was too overwhelmed by the feeling of being complimented to comprehend what was going on around me at the time.
But before Levi or I could say anything more, the one and only, Hanji interrupted the both of us, "You two are just so cute together! Ah, look at my babies growing up, into the big boy world."
Levi moved his hand away from mine, leaving mine feeling cold from the loss of warmth, "I am NOT your baby, four eyes! That's just weird, creepy but, most of all, disgusting."
Hanji only laughed, ignoring all his insults and possibly unfazed from being used to them being said to her so many times, "Oh, shorty! But you can't deny that Eren is my little Titan baby!"
Levi sighed, irritated by Hanji's antics, "Just shut up already, you're giving me a headache..."
As they talked, or lightly argued, I moved my hand slightly, inching it closer to the edge of the bed where I thought Levi was. Once my hand was off the bed, I moved it forwards slightly, reaching out to grab onto some form of fabric, only to be met with another hand entwining with my own.
I heard a soft voice 'awww' in the background, making me assume that it was Hanji, seeing as I didn't picture Levi to be one who would say 'awww' when someone entwined their hands with another.
I chuckled, "Thank you, Levi."
"I understand why you thanked me all the other times but why are you thanking me now?" He inquired, setting our hands down back on the hospital bed but never letting go of my own hand.
"Because I love you."
