To me, no, everyone, nobody feels the same as before or see them different than before. For instance, I don't see Aria like she was before, the nice, sweet girl who stutters every now and then. Instead, I see her as someone who would laugh for the pity of the living and rejoice for the dead. Kat was terrified of everything, every noise, every movement, every breeze, touch, person, tap, mask, everything. To be quite honest, I think that we're all scared of everything now and we regret all of the choices we made that night, especially listening to him.
It was Halloween night when we all met up at Kat's house while deciding what to do that night. Parker showed up a while after we made it, a little confused about why we were eating so early. He came and sat down with us and ate anyways. "So... what do you guys want to do tonight?" Kay asked, wiping her messy face with a napkin.
"I-I'm not sure..." Aria stuttered softly, leaning on her boyfriend, Tobias, who was sitting next to her with an arm gently resting on her slender body as he thought.
"I want to go get candy." Tobias suggested, holding up a bag with his free hand. We all laughed a bit at him and kept on throwing out suggestions to do that night.
"Man, all of these suggestions suck!" Adam moan then letting out a sigh. We all nodded in agreement.
"W-Why d-don't we j-just do w-with Tobias' i-idea?" Aria suggested, since it was the most normal and sane suggestion.
"I have an idea..." Parker said finally.
"Ooh! What is it?" Kay exclaimed excitedly, swaying side to side a bit.
"How about a haunted house?"
"B-But I d-don't want to g-go!" Aria protested, starting to freak out a bit.
"Don't worry, Aria, it'll be fine. It's just an old house that I always go to with friends of fine." Parker explained, looking at everyone in the room.
"You better not be lying to us..." Kat softly muttered under her breath, looking at everyone. "Is that okay with you guys?"
"I guess so, since we don't have anything better to do. Is that okay, Aria?" Adam explained, looking at Aria a bit.
"I-I-I guess s-so, s-since everyone wants t-to..." She concluded, smiling a bit. Aria had never liked haunted houses, or anything supernatural in general. "I-If e-everyone wants t-to go t-then I w-wouldn't mind-going..." she added, smiling a tiny bit as us before getting up and going outside with Tobias and the rest of us. We all piled into Parker's jeep while he drove us off into this haunted house.
Eventually, he stopped in front of an dusky forest, where there was no light whatsoever, on the other side of town. There were no streetlights, no children or adults, it was just us and this large forest of "doom". Once I got out of his car, I immediately thought that we made the wrong decision to come here. I mean, who would go with their friends to an isolated forest. And I wasn't the only one who thought that this was a bad idea. When everyone else got out, they looked at the forest in pure horror. "Hey, are you sure that you took us to the right place?" Adam asked, looking at Parker cautiously.
"I-I don't think t-think that w-we would should b-be h-here..." Aris agreed with Adam, everyone nodding in agreement.
"Don't worry, it's fine! I've been here and nothing bad happened." Parker reassured us, smiling at everyone before making his way into the fog.
"Hey, let's go back! I don't feel safe here and the atmosphere doesn't-"
"I said that it's fine, come on." Parker interrupted Kat, waving his hand towards the murky forest. Kat exchanged glances with all of us, who were waiting at the jeep.
"If you say so..." Kat finally announced, walking towards the thick fog. One by one we all made our way towards everyone else. Aria quickly grasped onto Tobias' arm as we made our way down the rocky terrain. Since there was no streetlights or lights in general, we all got our phones and found out way down from there. I don't know how long it was before we heard a scream behind us. We all let out a scream and started to freak out, quickly spinning around to see what happened. Aria was on the ground with her knees dusty and starting to bleed, Tobias kneeling down next to her. "She fell, someone get me bandage or something!" He exclaimed worriedly.
"I have some!" Kat replied, climbing the rocks back up to where the couple were. We waited patiently for them, going over to them with the source of light. In the end, Aria's knees were bandaged up nearly. Tobias picked her up and placed the fragile girl on his firm back, going down to where Parker waited. "Aria, are you okay? We can go back if you want." Adam asked her worriedly.
"Y-Yea, d-don't worry a-about m-me." Aria replied back, wrapping her slender arms around Tobias' next for support. We all made our way back down ri the haunted house, which Parker still never told us about. As we continued to make our way to this house, my stomach was quenching, especially since Parker never asked Aria if she was okay.
About an hour after climbing down the rocks, we finally made it to this haunted house Parker was telling us about all night. It was like an old house that was abandoned years ago. There were cobwebs everywhere and there were dusty windows that were broken, and it looked like someone was trying to get out. The roof also had holes in it, and the best part, it was the only home that was by a giant cliff. There was also a trail leading up to the road.
Tobias gently put Aria down off of his back when ehr terrain was finally flat. Aria had a terrified expression on her face, I could tell that she wanted to go back. "H-Hey, l-let's go b-back... I-I don't f-feel s-safe h-here..." She told us, pointing at the dusty trail. "L-Let's go P-Parker..."
"Aria, what the hell!? Why do you her to be a baby and be scared of everything!?" Parker yelled, putting a saddened expression on Aria's face. "Why do you have to be such a crybaby?"
"I-I'm..." Aria started, going back a little.
"Dude, what the hell!? Why are you yelling at her for something that she can't control?!" Tobias yelled, taking alarms step towards Parker.
"What do you mean by what the hell!? You obviously know what I mean dumbass, she can't even s-speak probably!" Parker yelled back, imitating Aria. Tobias looked appalled at him, clenching his hand into a fist.
"What the hell did you say about her!?"
"I said that s-she d-doesn't even know h-how to t-talk n-normal-" He was punched by Tobias before he could finish. The two fought for a while before Kay rushed over to then and pulled them apart.
"Just stop you two! Let's just get this stupid haunted house thing over so we can go home and get away from this creepy thing!" Kat yelled at them, looking like a mother disciplining her children.
Tobias sighed angrily and pulled away from Parker, who turned around and opened the door with a creak. He flipped the lights on, which brought an orangish light to the whole room. It didn't seem like as scary as we seemed. We all decided to search around the whole house as we killed time. "Wait." Kat said suddenly, moving around the house quickly.
"What is it?"
"D-Did something h-happen?" Aria asked worriedly, watching Kat pace around the room.
"Where did Parker go?" Once she asked that, we all looked around the room for Parker, and then he was nowhere to be found.
Then it was as if it was on cue, the orangish light flickered off and brung the cabin to darkness. We all screamed and cursed a little as we spread around the room. Kat and I clung onto each other as we grasped onto the surroundings as we searched for a source of light anywhere. Eventually we bumped into Tobias and Aria, who were happy to find us and gave us his phone for light. Kat quickly turned on his phone and struggled to find a flashlight of some sort oh his phone. Everyone yelled at her, besides Aria who tried to tell everyone to stop yelling, to hurry up so we could get out of there.
When she managed to turn the flashlight on the phone on, we all let out a sigh a relief. Kat then faced his phone upwards, shining it across the room where there was a clown wit a weapon on the other side of the room. We screamed and Kat dropped it, the light facing upwards to the ceiling to where a bunch of Spiders scurried out of the shined light on them. We screamed once more before running across the room banged on the exits and tried to get out, nothing worked.
Tobias' phone, which was still face down on the floor was our only source of light, which gave us some light throughout the entire room. I turned around and saw a figure behind Kat, a glistening object next to her throat. "K-Kat... D-Don't move..." I told her cautiously, seeing the figure turned out to be a clown.
"W-What is it?" She asked me cautiously, looking at her scared. No one answered her, resulting in her crying a bit and swallowing her pride, looking behind her nervously. The clown then swung his knife quickly, Kat falling to the ground as the blade slit her cheek. Then out if nowhere, someone started to laugh. I looked behind me and I saw Aria laughing her head of as is someone had told her a funny story or something. "A-Aria, w-what's so f-funny...?" Adam asked her, his voice shaking as we all looked at the laughing girl.
"W-We all look so p-pathetic here. It's obvious t-that we're all going to die here!" Aria laughed even more and fell to her knees, her long black hair sprawling all over the floor and her pale face. "It's not fair, we just should all die here since there's no other way out..." She added, calming down a little as she stopped laughing and a single tear fell from her eyes. We were all petrified, looking at Aria who was going insane from being locked in here.
"S-She's right... W-We're all going to die here... We can't even find an exit to leave..." Kat muttered under her breath and she shook her head, blood dripping down from her cheek.
"It's not fair, it's not fair, not fair, not fair, notfairnotfairnotfairnotfairnotfairnotfair!" Aria exclaimed, laughing a little more while crying harder. "Why can't we just leave? It's not fair!"
"A-Aria, calm d-down..." Tobias said softly, embracing the laughing girl as she laid limply on his chest while laughing like a maniac. We all started to freak out then, we started banging on the walls and on the windows until everything just turned black and silent.
I woke up the next day in the hospital with everyone else, who were all confused about why they were there and not at home. We all realized that it wasn't a dream, but it was all too real. We all talked a little about that night until we left and split ways. Parker never showed up afterwards, no sign of him was left for us to prove if he died or just ran away. Aria, she never turned back to the sweet Aria that we knew. She completely stopped stuttering and is like a whole different person, not to mention that she'll start laughing at random times. As for the rest of us, we became paranoid out of our minds. We never talked about it much, and we definitely don't mention Parker's name anymore, just as him. All because he set is up in this mess.
