T W E N T Y | Problem Downstairs

No rain, no flowers

*****

"You ready?" Elliot asked waiting by the front door.

"Yeah" I replied following him out and towards the car. Ever since I moved to LA, it had become a routine practice of mine to visit the local cemetery, something which Elliot decided to accompany me in doing. Deciding to move to America meant that I was leaving Daniel, which also meant that I couldn't visit him. A week after my move, it got me thinking about all the people who didn't have visitors for their own personal reasons; so I took it upon myself to lay flowers on the graves that looked like they hadn't been visited in a while. Something about it made me feel a lot closer to Daniel.

The cemetery wasn't far, so even after stopping at the florist we could be there under 15 minutes. We spent another 20 minutes laying out the flowers on the different graves.

"What now?" Elliot asked as we piled back in the car. I nodded my head so without wasting another second, Elliot pulled out and we made our way to Elliot's favourite restaurant. I hadn't really seen much of Elliot since our last recording session; he had a huge game coming soon against one of the schools biggest rivals and every free second was spent at practice.

Watching Elliot drive, I thought back to our earlier conversation. Elliot was reminding me of our date and had promised he did not forget. In-fact he took the extra time to make sure it was extra special and he wanted it to be right after their big win in a few days. Fingers crossed.

"You're still coming to the game, right?" Elliot asked as we pulled into the parking lot. Elliot walked around to my side, opening up the door for me.

"Ofcourse, I am." I replied as he took my hand in his own leading us through the main door.

"Table for two, please" he told the woman standing by the door.

"I have to warn you though, I won't understand a thing" I laughed as he pulled us towards our table.

"Doesn't matter" Elliot pulled out my chair, "just scream my name, that should work too" he whispered in my ear. I caught the double meaning in his words but chose to ignore him entirely.

"Why so red?" Elliot asked with a smirk as he took the seat opposite me.

"Shut up" I scowled burying my face in the menu. Elliot let out a loud laugh, a laugh that sent butterflies to my stomach, but a laugh that was too loud for the poor old couple seated next to us.

"Can I start you off with any drinks?" A waitress approached our table, a small notepad in her hand.

"Jess?" Elliot asked looking at me. I smiled at him before looking over at the waitress. The waitress who apparently couldn't take her eyes off Elliot. I cleared my throat catching her attention.

"I'll get a coke, please." I said as she quickly scribbled it down. She looked back up at Elliot expectantly.

"I'll get the same" Elliot replied still staring at me. The waitress, who's name I read to be Grace, scribbled it down before retreating back to the kitchen.

"I'm going to give you my jersey to wear to the game" Elliot announced with a grin. I laughed at his expression before agreeing that I would.

"Need to lay my claim" Elliot winked at me.

"Lay your claim?" I questioned with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah, everyone needs to know your mine" Elliot replied casually as the drinks arrived.

"Am I, though?" I asked looking at Grace.

"Have you decided on your meal?" she asked.

"I'll take the steak and fries, thank you" I said closing the menu and placing it flat on the table.

"And you?" Grace fluttered her eyelashes towards Elliot.

"Yeah, same" Elliot replied distracted. Grace's face fell as she retreated once again.

"You are" Elliot muttered but I caught on. I smiled at his words but didn't question them anymore. There was a comfortable silence on the table as the food arrived. But it wasn't just the food that arrived, Grace has subtly tried to slip a paper under Elliot's plate.

Elliot lifted his place pulling out the piece of paper that clearly had some digits printed on them. "Excuse me", he called out to Grace who nearly tripped over her own two feet as she ran back.

"Wrong table" he said handing her the tiny paper. Grace scrunched her eyebrows looking back at Elliot. "No, it's the right table" Grace winked at Elliot.

"Like I said, wrong table" Elliot repeated. A red blush covered Grace's face as she snatched the paper out of Elliot's hand and stalked back. The rest of lunch was spent with a light conversation as we finished out food. Ever since Elliot made the comment of laying his claim the mood had shifted. Elliot seemed much distant. Quiet.

"You okay?" I finally asked when the car ride home was filled with an unbearable silence.

"Yeah. Yeah, sorry" Elliot looked over to smile at me but it didn't reach his eyes.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked hoping he would actually open up.

"Nothing" is what he said instead as he interlinked his hand into mine. Soon enough, he was opening my car door leading me inside.

"I'll see you later" I whispered leaving him behind as I walked towards my room. My heart sunk at how the day turned out.

"Jess?" a voice called from behind me.

"Hmm" was all I could manage as I turned out to look at Elliot.

"I have to do something" and without a warning Elliot filled the space between us wrapping his arms around my waist, his lips on mine. I replied with the same urgency he gave as he lifted me off the ground, my legs wrapping around his waist. Elliot pushed forward sitting me frantically on my desk as my back hit the wall. I lifted my hands, running them through his hair, as he ran his up my thighs and under my shirt.

Elliot pulled back running his lips down my neck, leaving harsh kisses in his trail, a slight nip here and there as he continued. The minute his tongue came out to play I couldn't hold back the moan that slipped through my lips.

"Elliot" I moaned pulling at his hair so that his lips met mine once again. I pushed him away slightly, my lips never leaving his, as I reached for the bottom of his shirt pulling it over his head. Elliot's hands slipped under my thighs as he lifted me once again before he moved us over to my bed.

"We...We need to stop" Elliot moaned as he continued to kiss down my neck and onto my collarbone.

"Yeah, we...we..." I agreed as I pulled him back to my lips. My hands travelled down his chiselled abdomen as I felt every dent and line. Being in this position with Elliot was giving me a high that I could never get anywhere else. When I felt Elliot's hand graze the edge of my boobs, I knew it was time to stop before we did something we weren't ready for.

"Elliot" I said once more pushing him back this time. Elliot pulled back resting his forehead against mine, panting just as hard as I was. And that wasn't only hard thing judging by what I felt pushing against my thigh.

"Elliot" A shrill voice cut through our silence. I looked up at Elliot in alarm as I pushed him off me and onto the other side of the bed as I sat up. Elliot had managed to pull his shirt on just as Elle barged through the door.

"Jacobs downstairs" Elle informed looking between Elliot and I with an innocent smile before she ran back out.

"I'm going to see what he wants" Elliot said making a move to stand up. Elliot's lips were red and swollen, probably mirroring what mine looked like, but it didn't seem to bother him as he walked out of my room and made his way downstairs. But I couldn't say the same for his problem downstairs.

Taking a moment to myself, I threw my head down at my pillow, taking a few minutes to catch my breath. Being with Elliot was a thrill, anything he did, everything he did, got me excited. I sat back up deciding to go downstairs to say hi to Jacob since he was already here.

Something I wish I never did when I heard Elliot's voice as I neared the living room door.

"I miss her"
