~Thomas POV~

I gathered all of my things and started to head over to the meeting room. This was my first meeting so I was pretty nervous.

When I walked in, I saw Washington seated at the head of the table with Alex seated on his right (HAND MAN ok im sorry go back to reading). Washington saw me and waved me over. I took the seat to his left, right across from Alex.

"Thomas, we're about to start in a few minutes. We just need to wait for a few more people." George said to me. I nodded.

"So, Mr. Jefferson, how are you today?" Alex asked with a friendly smile on his face.

Mr. Jefferson

He had never called me that. Five years ago, it had always been Thomas or Tommy. We only used last names when making fun of each other. And we never used "Mr." But now it was different.

I suppresed a frown and answered his question.

"I'm doing great! How about you Mr. Hamilton?"

"I'm fine as well." He answered. His posture was straight (even tho hes gayyy af) and his tone was formal.

Everything about him screamed that we were just acquaintances, but my mind screamed, 'Yo Thomas this is your boyfriend that you havent seen in 5 years go kiss him!!'

I shook my head as Washington cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. We started the meeting. (i dont really know how meetings work or what they're talking about rn so pretend theyre discussing somethin)

I watched Alex when it was his turn to talk. He spoke with the confidence that made me fall in love with him in the first place. Maybe we could start anew. Even if he didnt remember me.

I listened closely to what he was saying. As he kept talking, I grew more confused. He was explaining some kind of plan but it didnt make any sense. There was no way it would ever work.

I stood up and voiced my opinion. Alexander had a slightly annoyed look on his face.

We fought back and forth until we were practically screaming insults at each other. We had to be pulled away from each other by our co-workers. Not exactly the greatest moment in my life.

As we were being pulled apart, I was reminded of our debates in high school and college. They always ended up exactly like this. Me and Alex having a screaming match and insulting each other to the best of our ability. Then we would have to be torn away from each other so we didnt "accidentally" kill the other person.

Just like the good old days when we hated each other. I snuck a glance at Alex. He was staring at me and had a confused and far away look on his face. His eyebrows were furrowed and he had a small frown. Then, he blinked a few times and shook his head. It lasted only a few seconds before hatred sparked again in his eyes. He shot a glare at me.

"Thomas, meet me outside." I turned around and saw my boss behind me. He led me out of the meeting room.

"Son, (dOnT cAlL mE sOn!) I want you to apologize to Alex right after the meeting. I dont want you two to hate each other like before. This was how it all started. Let's avoid that okay?" He finished his lecture and I nodded. (George was their teacher in high school and college. Probly shouldve mentioned that)

He was right. We should avoid and tension between me and Alex. I didnt want to repeat what happened in the past.

We walked back into the room. (where it happens)

I twiddled my thumbs nervously as I waited for the meeting to end. When it did, I jumped up from my seat and grabbed Alex's wrist as he passed me.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" I whispered to him. He looked at me for a second and nodded stiffly.

When it was just us two left in the meeting room, I apologized for earlier. He scoffed at me. There was still fire behind his eyes which meant he was definitely still furious with me. He walked out before I could say anything else.

~ANOTHER time skip from a lazy author~

The next day, I walked into work with a bouquet of flowers. Bleeding hearts to be exact. I knew that they were Alex's favorite flowers. (ok the name is pretty weird but theyre beautiful flowers! i'll put a picture at the bottom) I had attatched a note to one of them.

Hey i'm sorry...
meet me in the park after work?

I put my stuff in my office and took the flowers to Alex's door. I knocked three times and held my breath.

"Good morn- oh- its you. What are you doing here?"

"I just wanna apologize, Hamilton. Please?" I hamded him the flowers. He examined them as if it was a science experiment. Then his expression softened when he realized what flower they were.

"Bleeding Hearts..." he whispered. "How do you know that they're my favorite?"

"Luck guess," I said and shrugged. I saw him eye the note attatched to one of the flowers but he didnt read it yet. "I'll go now."

I turned and started walking to my office. As I walked, a smile formed on my lips as I reminisced on a good memory.

Flashback

Thomas and Alex were lying on the couch, cuddling. It was the weekend so they didnt have anything to do.

"Sooo... what are ur favorite flowers?" Thomas asked.

"why?"

"Cause i need to know what flowers to bring for our dates." Thomas said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Alright. My favorite flower is called bleeding heart."

"You sound like a psychopath," the taller man chuckled.

"The name is weird but theyre beautiful flowers! Just like you," Alex replied and booped (i dont think its a word but i like how it sounds) his boyfriend's nose, earning a giggle from him.

flashback over

Thomas shook his head when he realized that he was at his destination. He opened the door and started to work.

~time skip to the park cause im pretty sure u guys dont wanna read about thomas working~

As I sat in the park, underneath a big oak tree, I realized that Alex might not come. I was debating whether I should leave or not when I saw a short, brown haired figure walking towards me.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"I'm sorry for yesterday. I really am." I said.

"Its fine," he laughed and sat next to me. "Some people have told me that i can be pretty short tempered."

We both laughed and continued to talk for a while.

"Hamilton, I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to a party that my friends are holding. Its going to be at my house around 7. Theres no occasion. Its just a small get-together." I offered and waited for his response. He thought for a few seconds before answering.

"Sure! I'd love to go. And call me Alex."

"Ok, then call me Thomas. You'll probably need my address and phone number."

We swapped phone numbers and I gave him my address. We said our goodbyes and headed off into different directions.

Oh god, what was I gonna tell Laf?
