Chapter 3 Poland in the 40s
Situation in 40s Poland was rather interesting one. People were celebrating victory over their countries live long enemy in form of Germany and Poland got economic aid from its allies improving people's lives a lot.
Though there were also protests of people who wanted full democracy in the country and people in factories wanting better wages.
Meanwhile in the east people from villages were living in barely livable conditions mostly living with at least five children in one room.
Meanwhile in southern eastern part of Poland there were terrorist attacks from Ukrainians wanting establishment of free Ukrainian states but also protest against discrimination and being forbidden from using their own language.
"it can't be like that anymore we are people too and we want to be treated like citizens not just guests, we were raised here for generations our grandfathers were born here and we won't accept this treatment anymore" said person leading the protests in Rowne in Volhynian voivodeship.
Meanwhile in annexed German lands life wasn't easier, German's were mistreated and some forcingly moved out to puppet states in the west to be replaced by Poles who wanted better living conditions in the city. German wasn't allowed to be used publicly and was only used to communicate with German people still living in there. Polish police was arresting German's everyday for mostly no reason accusing them for Activity to destabilize Poland.
German's were terrifies seeing their own people being found dead in the lakes and police not caring about this because they were German.
"Polish police is there only to keep rights of Poles and discriminate German people, they want to make us move out by ourselves without having any paperwork but we won't give up!" Said old German librarian from Krolewiec interviewed by Southern German newspaper in 1943.
Meanwhile Warsaw was getting ready for Olympic games in 1956 with president of the city using money given by British to build the largest stadium in eastern Europe buying land from people living outside the town to build it.
In 1946 Poland managed to buy itself a colony. It bought Madagascar from France with agreement that French people still living in there will be able to use French and their children will have guaranteed French schools and not be forced to use Polish ones.
No one knows what's gonna happen next since Polish government found out secret files that Soviet union agreed to divide Europe with Nazi Germany.
USSR of course said it's only Polish provocation and it's faked.
"we must be ready if Red threat from the east strikes again." said President of Poland Ignacy Mościcki in Warsaw Radio.
