Chapter 2

We're going to get you enrolled in UA.

Static says, poking his cheek.

"Uh... sure that's my plan."

You need to train your body if you ever want to be in the Hero Course.

"...Drop it, I'm... I just want to aim for the GenEd course, there's no way I can get in the Hero course anyways. I have no quirk."

...hm. I guess... that's fine as well but I'll still have you doing some exercises.

"What for?"

I can't say it yet. You'll see when we get there, just trust me.

Izuku nods, returning back to his homework.

...Your formula is wrong.

"It is? Where?"

Static points at the beginning.

"Oh, it's supposed to be negative, isn't it?" Static nods.

"Hey um, do you need to sit? You've been standing beside me for quite a while now."

Static only blinks at him, Izuku wasn't sure whether that's a yes or no but he grabs a spare plastic chair in their living room, placing it beside his chair. Static promptly sat down and went back to helping Izuku answer his assignment.

I can just tell you the answer, you know.

"I'll never learn to do anything if I don't do it myself."

...I see. How noble. But you didn't give me a clear yes or no, the answer to that question is-

"Shut up."

...Rude.

___________________________

Life continued on as normal, aside from the fact that Izuku is forced to do some exercises before and after school- sometimes even during school lest his newly found companion screeches at his ears. Izuku doesn't really need to ask questions to his teacher anymore. Static usually pointing out his mistakes and helping correct them, thankfully not answering them by himself.

Katsuki has been tormenting him more than usual. Making him trip, 'accidentally' spilling juice on him. Throwing papers and the like at him. Izuku's more upset at his lackies, scribbling expletives at his desk in permanent marker that he's forced to look at everyday, the ever constant single white flower on his desk wishing him death. The idea is tempting, it'll be easier to end the pain right now but...

Don't listen to them, ignore their every action, you'll only get affected if you keep focusing on them. Just ignore them.

Static always whispers to him just as he's about to do it. Every time he even does so much as stare at a cutter, those words repeat in his head, and he can't do it. If not for himself then he'll keep himself awake for Static.

Izuku doesn't fight back against them, it's easier to just them them beat him up, taunt and jeer at him rather than running away. Maybe they'll get bored of picking on him, you know it's not fun to poke at something if it's not giving you a reaction.

Don't refer to yourself as an it, you're a human being, just like them.

"...Is that okay? Even if they don't treat me like one?"

It doesn't mean you have to treat yourself the same way, let's get you patched up. Stand up.

Static offers him a hand, Izuku would grab it but he knows his hand would only pass through. He sighs, standing up despite the ache, screaming at him from every part to stay down and rest.

"...My uniform is dirty, my mom will have a hard time washing this." He says, dissapointed.

That's all you're worried about...?

"...I don't want to bring more stress to my mom than I already do."

Let's just get you home in one piece, okay?

Izuku nods.

You should stop by the nurses office first, get your wounds cleaned up and bandaged first. We don't want you getting caught tending to your bruises, right?

Izuku nods again. Limping to his bag, he winced as he crouched down to get it. He almost falls over trying to get up again but he persists and stands up. Sticking to the walls to support him as he walked to the nurses office.

Are you okay?

"Am I?"

...

He finally reaches it, since it's after school the nurse isn't here anymore but it's fine, Izuku has learnt to bandage himself this past few months anyways. Static still carefully instructing him what to do until he's all bandaged up, laying at the bed at the nurses office.

Your mother will get worried if you get home late.

"I know."

They stole your money too, didn't they?

"...I'm fine with walking."

It's a long walk and you're injured.

"I'll be fine. I had worse, remember?" Static solemnly nods.

Izuku sighs, standing up, although it still hurts, it's not overwhelming like earlier but his movements were slow and sluggish. Static warning him if he's going to trip on something or bump to someone helps too. He's so grateful to have his friend with him. Atleast someone is with him throughout all of this.

Don't. Katsuki should be here along with his... friends. Let's go through another route.

Izuku nods, moving to go to another direction.

...Blend yourself with the crowd, stay off from the walls, if you can, stay close to the road. They wouldn't attack you there, they noticed you, I'm sorry for not warning you earlier.

"...It's fine, atleast you still did."

...Im going to ring through your head again, I need to drown out every noise except from mine, it'll hurt but it's fine, you can close your eyes and ignore everything, just follow what my voice will tell you, you'll stay safe.

"Thanks for warning me."

In a few seconds, the terrible high pitched ringing is back, Izuku tries not to stumble as it hits his ears. His eyes is closed as he carefully follows Static's instructions. He jolts, feeling something like an electric shock to his hand.

It's fine, I'm just holding it, maybe it will help you feel better.

Izuku nods, well that's one thing he didn't know can happen, he walks for a long while before Static finally lets him open his eyes, already to his apartment.

"You'll be a great gps system one day."

Thank you, I try.

________________________________

The rest of the months pass by, all Izuku did was study and study, Static helping him, always staying by his side. There are more times where Static holds his hand, it's become a comfort to him, knowing that he has a friend through all of this, that he has someone to turn back to despite everything.

Today is the day of the entrance exams, are you nervous?

Izuku nods, he is, there's no reason to hide it when it's obvious.

Just this once, if you have troubles answering any question, I want you to tell me, okay? I... I need you to pass to General Education, okay?

Izuku nods, even though he's still not sure why it's so important that he passes.

He takes a shower, brushes his teeth, eats breakfast with his mom while Static sits in the third seat he adds to the table that his mother doesn't bat an eye to before leaving.

If you're focused on the GenEd course, all you have to do is take the test, you don't have to stick around for the Heroics entrance exams. Trust me.

"What's the entrance exam like for there?"

Destroying robots.

"...Oh." Is all he says.

He notices Katsuki on the way there but Izuku ignores him, he'd rather avoid the blond at all cost. Static holding his hand as they pass by him.

Due to his preference to the Gen Ed course, they're first to take the exams before all the other courses. Izuku answers all the questions, Static helping point out if he has any mistakes but only ever saying the answer if Izuku asks for it. Satisfied, Izuku passes his test and goes straight home. He's not here to be a hero, it's just a good credential to have graduated from UA.

You did great today.

"You helped me a lot on the exams though, does that really count as great?"

...You still did great.
