B: Baking [Madimo]
Date written: August 10th, 2016. Because I'm bored. And I don't want to study for my exams. (The pic shows curry, though, since I can't find any pic of couples baking or anything.)
He didn't know why he was here.
"You know, if you needed me to make a mess, you could've just said so." Maddox said flatly, rubbing a smear of chocolate cake batter off her cheek, to which she simply giggled. He sighed, and with a cleaner hand ran his fingers through his hair. "Not dragged me to bake a cake, of all things."
Shikimo giggled yet again, grinning at the tall male. "But Maaadddyy," she said, drawing out the last syllable of the boy's nickname, "you know more about this than I do!"
He heaved a sigh, dropping the whisk into the bowl of lumpy cake batter. "Didn't I tell you, Shikimo? I don't. Cooking's fine in and of itself, since I know a bit, but not," - he gestured to the 'destruction' around them - "this. I don't know how to bake."
She pouted, before reaching up onto her tiptoes to wipe her batter-coated fingers across his pale cheek. Streaks of a dark brown matter decorated his skin at the action, and he drew back swiftly - an astonished, bordering on incredulous look flashing across his face, before he grinned.
"Oh, you cheeky little--" Maddox swiped his fingertips along the rim of the bowl, before skimming his fingers across her chin. She laughed, pointing at the marks on his face, before she backpedaled with a giggle. "You've gone and done it, Shikimo." He cracked a smile, his shoulders shaking with his restrained laughter as he continued to splatter the batter onto the petite girl, simultaneously trying - and sometimes failing - to avoid the splatters she sent his way.
He moved forwards, grabbing the open box of flour, before sending a spray of the white clouds over her hair. Shikimo giggled, playfully attempting to wrestle the box from his hands and sending a puff of flour to his face in the process. His mock-angry face dissolved, and Maddox broke into a fit of laughter, sending the last of the flour buffetting its ivory particles towards her stained skirt.
She smiled, holding up the whisk as though it was a weapon of sorts, and he grabbed a wooden spoon in return, jabbing at her lowered guard. They jousted, the occasional laugh seeping through as they each landed a hit somewhere on the other's respective person.
It was during Maddox's halfhearted feint to her right that Shikimo stepped back - and onto the fallen container of the flour, sending her offbalance. He immediately moved, setting both hands on her waist as he somewhat awkwardly supported her weight.
"I know you're clumsy," Maddox said in between needed intakes of air, "but seriously, don't scare me like that." His gaze flitted towards the forgotten carton of eggs some ways off, abandoned on the flour-and-batter-covered floor.
Shikimo smiled, a hand placed at the nape of his neck as her fingers - still coated with batter and flour - skimmed his chin, and she reached up to place a brief kiss to his cheek.
"Don't worry too much, Maddy," she said.
There was a brief pause as he slowly set her upright, her arms now looped around his neck. She stood on her tiptoes, cocking her head slightly to the side as she regarded him with a thoughtful smile.
"...So, does this mean that I win the food fight?"
end.
Pretty crappy writing right there. And I dunno if I got Shikimo OOC, but I think I did.
Now, maybe I should review for my exams?
