Some truth
Something I've learned thanks to certain people in my life is that it's okay to stop and recharge. I mean, we should be doing that everyday rather than just going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going....until we finally burnout or breakdown from stress or daily monotony. Even if it's something as simple as taking a moment from your music to listen to the rain, lighting a quick candle somewhere and smelling it, or just laying on your bed and staring at the ceiling and not focusing on the million storylines running in your head. (That last one's more for me... heh...). However, it seems like today you're not allowed to stop and sniff the roses. and that's actually an important part of our mental health and enjoyment of life. Taking a little time out of the day for yourself. Now that doesn't mean completely ignore all your work. But it does mean that we have the ability to say: I don't feel so great. I need to take a moment to breathe. and then we can just do it. It's not always easy to do, especially if you're like me and feel like you're being lazy for not constantly being on the go, but the more you work at it the better you'll feel. That's what I'm trying to be better at. Taking a second without the tech, without my thoughts, without pencils or notebooks or..something else I am totally spacing on right now...making sure I don't have an important meeting or work at that time, maybe in the evening when everyone's asleep if necessary...and just taking a little break. Recharging.
Everyone deserves a little less stress.
