Chapter 7
I was just walking past Starbucks, when I noticed Ashton in there, sitting at a table with his phone in his hand. He was positioned so that he wasn't able to see me, so, I decided to take the opportunity to sneak up on him.
"Boo!" I giggled, as he jumped from fright as I popped up from behind him. I must have given him quite the fright as he looked like he had just seen a ghost. it was quite cute actually. His hand was across his chest, hovering over his heart as he tried to recover.
"Please never do that to me again!" He pleaded as I sat down next to him. He gave me a quick peck on the cheek that caused me to blush slightly. He just seemed to have that effect on me. I tried to hide my blushing cheeks with my hands, but Ashton soon pulled them away.
"Don't hide it! It's very cute!" He cooed, pecking me on the nose.
"Shut up!" I jokingly scolded, and he pulled me up with him as he stood.
"Nah, I like annoying you by pointing out your adorably cute features!" He giggled his perfect laugh, intertwining our fingers as we walked up to the counter to order our drinks.
"I like this outfit, by the way!" He mumbled as he pulled me closer to him by the belt loops of my jeans. We awaited in the queue to be served.
"Thanks! I like your hair like this!" I replied, running my fingers through his scruffy curls that had just been left with no styling and no bandana.
"Come here!" He muttered in a desperate tone, pulling me in for a short but passionate kiss, setting of the fireworks in my head.
We were forced to pull apart too soon when someone deliberately cleared their throat to get out attention. Ashton frowned slightly as he looked toward the disturbing cashier.
"What do you want?" The twenty something cashier asked in a brisk tone, sending Ashton a dirty look. Ok, douche!
"Can I have an caramel frappachino, please? What do you want, babe?" Ashton asked me as he looked into my eyes with his own hazel ones, which could make me weak at the knees. I managed to compose myself enough to answer.
"Erm, can I get an iced lemonade, please?" I asked the worker behind the counter, and he nodded, flashing me a toothy grin. But it was nothing like Ash's beautiful dimpled smile.
I felt Ashton's grip on my hand tighten slightly at the friendly gesture. I looked at his face to see it was set in a jealous frown. I gave him a reassuring smile, pecking his lips briefly. He simply gave me a smile, giving my lips another brief kiss.
"One iced lemonade for the beautiful lady," the worker smiled, handing me the drink. I wasn't oblivious to his sudden charm, but I ignored it, because I had Ash, and he was all I wanted.
"Your frappe," He grunted, thrusting the drink at Ashton. Ashton took the drink, giving the boy a sarcastic smile, and I struggled to hold in my laughter.
"I'll pay for mine!" I said, reaching into my shoulder bag to get my purse.
"Nope, too late!" Ashton chuckled, shoving the money forward before I even had a chance. I just rolled my eyes at him, but let him pay anyway. I reasoned with myself that next time I'd buy his, so it was acceptable to let him pay this one time.
Just as we were about to turn around and leave, since we got carry out, I noticed the worker looking at me up and down, which made me a bit creeper out. I didn't like the intimidating looks he was giving me, so I nudged further into Ashton's side. He must have noticed that I was uncomfortable, as he wrapped a strong, protective arm around my waist, pulling me further into his side.
"Don't even think about her, never mind look at her, you creep!" He hissed, sending the worker a murderous glare. Oh, if looks could kill, he'd be six feet under by now! He cowered helplessly under Ashton's glare, and with that, he briskly turned us around and we left the cafe.
We found a bench about 50 yards away and sat down to enjoy our drinks, and each other's company.
"Thanks, by the way," I said softly as I laid my head on Ashton's shoulder and he laid his head on top.
"For what?" He asked, taking a sip of his drink.
"Getting that creep to stop looking at me. It felt like he was mentally undressing me!" I answered, and I felt Ashton move slightly as he chuckled.
"You're my girl! I can't have dudes perving on you, can I?" He turned his head and placed a sweet kiss to my forehead. I shook my head, agreeing with him and giggling at his cute protectiveness.
And we just sat like that and finished our drinks, chatting away about random things and getting to know each other. After we finished our drinks, we stood up, intertwining our fingers as we held hands. Ashton looked down at them and smiled, giggling slightly.
"Is there something wrong?" I asked, paranoid that there was something wrong with my hand.
"No, it's just that it's cute that you have such small hands, and I have quite big ones, yet the seem to fit perfectly together," He explained, smiling down at me. I giggled and kissed the tip of his nose and we continued to walk through the indoor shopping centre.
As we passed an underwear shop, Ashton looked down at me and raised his eyebrows, a massive grin on his face. Oh, not a chance Irwin.
"Don't go getting any ideas!" I chuckled as his face fell. He kitted out his bottom lip and pouted while making his hazel eyes bigger. I knew I was going to end up caving in, so I needed a distraction.
I looked around and noticed a music shop, not far away and I pointed to it.
"Look, let's go in there!" I suggested, and Ashton's expression immediately changed as he practically dragged me over to the shop. I knew that would work!
As we stepped into the shop, I noticed that there were no other customers, and the middle aged man at the counter looked as though he could be doing something better with his life. Different instruments filled the shop, and made it seem smaller than it probably was. As we walked, the shop seemed to continue on and on forever.
Ashton continued to pull me over to the drumming section of the shop and stopped, taking in all different drum kits. There was a sign that said all the set up drum kits were sample kits that could be played on.
I watched as Ashton's eyes fell on a jet black kit, and he seemed mesmerized. He let go of my hand, completely hypnotized. I waved my hands in front of his glazed over eyes, and he turned to me, flashing me a massive grin.
"Sorry, it's just so pretty!" He giggled like a little school girl as he ran over to the kit. I chuckled, walking behind him as he sat down on the stool. He looked over his shoulder at me and smiled. Without saying a word, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me to sit on his lap.
"What are you doing?" I giggled as he picked up the drum sticks and gave them to me. He wrapped his big hands around mine so could direct my hands.
"I'm teaching you how to play!" He chuckled, and started to move our hands so that we played a beat. After a while, I got slightly bored, but Ashton seemed really into it, so I just let him play as I slipped off his lap, and watched him. After playing a few different intricate beats, he laid the sticks back down and stood up, taking my hand again.
"Come on, we better leave before I end up braking it!" He chuckled, leading us back out the shop. For the first time today I actually checked the time. Crap, I needed to get Troye from the airport.
"Shit, I need to go!" I cursed, looking up at Ashton as he frowned.
"No, I don't want you to leave!" He cried jokingly, throwing his arms around me dramatically. I knew we were going to cause a scene. Somehow no one had noticed Ashton yet today, and selfishly, I would have liked it to stay that way.
"I need to go to the airport to pick Troye up!" I reasoned, and Ashton frowned down at me.
"Who's Troye?" He asked, tensing up. Oh gosh.
"Just a YouTube friend from Australia!" I tried to explain, but he still seemed upset. "You'll like him!" I tried.
"Can I come with you, since you need a ride there anyway!?" He asked, and I smiled up at him.
"Yeah, that would be good!" I placed what was meant to be a quick peck on his lips, but it soon turned into a full blown kiss.
"Come on, let's go!" Ashton finally smiled, and we made our way to the car.
