Chapter 23
Calum's POV
~
This wasn't how things were meant to be. Isabol was meant to be in my arms, not with Ash. I know that I shouldn't be thinking these thing, about my best friend, but I couldn't help my feelings towards Iz.
I loved her, and I deserved her more than Ashton. There, I said it. But it's true. Ashton gets whatever he wants, and I get nothing.
All I wanted was her, and the only way I could get her was to bribe management to split the happy couple up. But that fucking backfired.
Now he's sick, and Isabol is by his bedside, devoting all of her time and love to him, instead of heartbroken in my arms.
It's never fair.
"Cal, you ok mate?" Mike asked from beside me on the couch in the corner of Ashton's room, a concerned look spreading across his face.
"Yeah, fine, I'm just gonna go for a coffee," I sighed, standing up and leaving the room.
I didn't notice that anyone had followed me until I felt a small tap on my shoulder, and I turned around to see Isabol.
"Are you ok, Cal?" She asked in her cute little accent, the concern flashing through her features.
Oh yeah, I'm dandy considering I'm completely in love with you, and you're just too clueless to see that you belong with me and not Ash!
"I'm fine."
"Are you sure? Because you've been acting a bit funny lately, and I just wanted to make sure everything was ok Calum..." She continued to rant on, but I soon tuned her out, my attention brought to her soft, small lips. How I fantasized about what those lips would feel like against mine.
"Yeah, Iz. Just go back to Ash, he needs you," I sighed, turning back to coffee machine.
I knew that if I didn't stop myself from even looking at her, I would have her pressed against the wall in no seconds flat.
"Ok," Was all I heard before she had left again, her light steps making the quietest of noises in the now silent hallways.
"Jesus, Cal, you twat," I seethed to myself.

Isabol's POV
I slipped back into the room just as Ashton began to wake up again. I slid back into the chair next to him, trying to give him my best reassuring smile.
"How are you?" I asked him, and he widened his eyes, trying to wipe the sleep from him, which he obviously couldn't.
"Here," I offered, gently wiping his eyes for him, and was rewarded with a small smile. I then leaned down and placed a kiss to his lips.
There was a thump, and coffee was spilt along the floor of the hospital, and Calum stood in the doorway, tears filling his eyes as he watched us, his hand still reached out where there was once a Styrofoam cup filled with hot coffee.
"I'm so sorry," He sputtered out, sobbing heavily and looking down ashamed.
"Why are you apologizing Cal? None of this is your fault," Luke reassured as Michael started to clear up the mess with the cleaning products that were kept in a cupboard.
"It is though!" He insisted, breaking down even more.
"How?" I piped up, concerned why happy go lucky Cal was this upset. I suspected there was something wrong with how he was acting before.
"I love you Isabol!" He cried, and I looked at him shocked, and felt something tighten around my hand.
Ashton.
I looked down to him, seeing that he was seething, and his hand was clutching onto me for dear life.
"Ash," I said, motioning down to his hand, and he simply shrugged, before looking back over to Calum.
If looks could kill, Calum would most certainly be six foot under by now.
"I bribed management into splitting you two up so I could be with Iz. I caused the stress that made your appendix rupture," Calum began, but was soon cut off by Ashton.
"Get out," He tried to keep calm, I could tell.
"I'm so sorry," Calum began, but was yet again cut off by Ashton.
"Get the fuck out! I never want to see your pathetic face again," Ashton cried, tears brimming and threatening to spill from his own eyes.
"Sorry," Was all that was said before Calum sprinted from the room, and the four of us watched him in shock, before he turned the corner, and was lost from our sight completely.
