Chapter Twelve
After what seemed like forever, we finally arrived at a gated entrance.
Looking through the wind shield, I could see an old fashioned three-story house directly in front of us. Surrounding it were smaller cottage like houses. All of these houses and the main house had a connecting pathway which joined to the front gate. It was gorgeous.
The gate opened and the jeeps all drove to the front of the main entrance before stopping. Soran opened the door and gestured for me to follow him. I was curious as to what was going to happen next. Surely he can't believe that I would just willingly begin to live here, especially with him.
Sighing heavily, I got out of the vehicle and followed him inside. The vehicles then drove off, I'm assuming to the parking lot.
"So this is where you will be staying from now on," Soran said, guiding me down an extravagant hallway. Portraits of people I'm guessing are werewolves lined the walls on both sides. Their eyes appearing to be staring directly into my soul. This reminded me of my old home, making me begin to hate this place.
I simply hummed as I followed him. At this point, the only thing on my mind was my daughter. I did not know what to do. Should I bring Senait here? Should I leave her with Mizzy for the time being?
I knew I had to be with my daughter, especially since her behavior gets out of hand when we are separated for days at a time. Now the issue is, should I bring her here or should we run away once again?
"And this is where you will be sleeping." Finally coming back to reality, I looked around. I was standing inside of a gigantic room. The walls were a pastel green color, definitely too bright for my taste. The furniture was all made of a dark colored wood, maple I suppose. I'm not the best when it comes to furniture.
"Who says I will be staying?" I questioned, placing my hand on my hip. "Like do you wolves really just kidnap your mates and force them to be with you?"
He slowly looked me up and down before slowly coming towards me. Now this is more like it. A little bit of drama never hurt anybody.
"I mean, what if I don't want to stay here. You do know I have a life to get back to," I added.
He still remained quiet. When he stood in front of me, he gently cupped my cheek in his hand. His intense gaze making me feel uncomfortable. He was way too close for my liking.
"If only you knew how long I've been waiting for you," he said in a raspy tone. "Akua," he said lowly, dragging every single letter with his tongue.
I can't lie, my name sounded so good coming from him.
"Soran, is it?" I asked in a joking manner. Of course his name is Soran. A low rumble echoed from within him as he closed his eyes and tilted his head back.
For some reason, I was happy that me saying his name had the same effect when he said mine.
I could feel my inner rolling her eyes at me right now. It's not like I chose to be in such a messy situation.
"What about my daughter? When do you bring her to me?" My tone was harsh. This was my way of showing him I didn't play when it came to my child.
I'm just hoping that Mizzy does not get intertwined into this whole mess.
"We'll get go get her tomorrow."
