Chapter Seven
It was a busy work day for me today which left my body all sore. Thankfully, the Bossman was kind enough to allow me to take the day off tomorrow because I was tired from the amount of customers that I had for the week.
Going home, I was welcomed by Senait and Mizzy and the delicious aroma of freshly made lasagna. My stomach growled at the thought of consuming the cheesy goodness.
"Looks like someone's hungry," Mizzy commented causing Senait to giggle. Her plaits swinging back and forth causing the beads to knock against each other.
I smiled at them. "Sure am," I said, flinging my bag to the side. We all took our share of food and chatted and watched the television all night long. I insisted that Mizzy stayed the night but she still drove to her home at such a late hour.
The next day since I didn't have work, I decided to do something productive. Even though it was a Saturday, I dropped Senait off at her daycare. I didn't want to alarm her because my plan would not work the way I want it to.
Yesterday, whilst at work, I managed to get a sneak peak of the Bossman's phone when he was texting his favourite client. I found out that the man's name was Soran Devione which was all I needed to know to figure out what he was.
Anyone from the supernatural world have already heard of the Devione bloodline of werewolves at least once in their life. They are known to be one of the longest and most pure bloodline of wolves still alive to this day.
That explained why the scent was familiar to me yet I couldn't recognize it. It's a known fact that even though they are werewolves, their scent differs from the werewolves of today. A wolf's scent can also tell one of the ranking of that wolf and judging from his, he is definitely in a high rank.
Shivers ran up and down my spine just thinking of him, which made my heart beat even faster. This couldn't mean what my thoughts are suggesting. I still remember the intense look in his grey eyes when I danced for him.
This was going to be good. After living here peacefully with no sort of excitement, looks like I would finally be getting something worthwhile. My inner self could literally burst from joy at any second.
Going into my study, I cleared my meditation space and lit a few scented candles. I placed the potted plants in a circle and then I sat within it.
Closing my eyes, I inhaled the scent and swayed back and forth. I began humming without any actual rhythm as my body swayed more violently. I could feel myself becoming less aware of my surroundings.
It had been a while since my last true meditation. I was even beginning to lose contact with my inner self because of how distant I had been with her and I could feel her anger. She was raging inside me as I called out to her.
After what seemed like an eternity, all the candles went out and all the potted plants were thrown against the walls of the room. She had welcomed me back both angrily and happily. Now with her help, maybe I will be able to understand Soran Devione's goal.
