Chapter 49🏇
Rubbing my eyes, I squint them open as the bright sunlight enters through my roof through the gorgeous tree that hovers over the room.
I turn to the side, attempting to put my arms around Jimin when they fall onto the cold ruffled sheets. I frown, lifting my head when I look at the time.
8:13 a.m
"Today's Jimin's race!" I yell out loud, jerking up straight with wide eyes. Scrambling to the toilet, I grab my toothbrush, brushing my teeth while hopping around on one leg, trying to get my jeans on.
Pulling my hair up into a ponytail, I glance at the time.
8.20 a.m
It takes ten minutes to reach there by bus.
Glancing at the kitchen as I run down the steps, my stomach rumbles when I see the stack of pancakes on the stable.
No time!
I groan as I run out of the house and towards the bus station.
Why didn't he wake me up ?!
~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~
After waiting in the line, you enter the stadium just on time.
My eyes search the track and a sigh of relief leaves me when I notice that the racers haven't been asked to assemble yet.
I jog to the stable rooms, glancing at the fancy dressed riders with million dollar horses. My eyes catch the glint of gold inscribed letters,
Firefly
I walk to it, leaning against the support when I see Jimin resting his forehead on his hands as he sits on the bale of hay.
I smile at his nervousness, but it vanishes in a moment when I hear a sniffle leave his hunched form.
I walk to him, wrapping my arms around his body and pull him close as he startles, looking at me with red rimmed eyes.
"Y-Y/N, you-"
"Shush."
I say, pushing his head onto my shoulder.
I don't need to ask him any questions, because I know what he's feeling right now. It may be even worse than what I felt.
This is his once in a lifetime opportunity.
Once in 5 years does the chance to participate in the national tournament come, and the pressure to live up to his Uncle's reputation was a boulder thrown onto him.
Jimin's POV
What if I end up like him?
Or.. what if I don't make the qualification?
I'll be a disgrace not only to my parents, but to the academy and most of all, my Uncle.
Everything he taught me is riding on this moment.
"Jimin.." Y/N chimes, running a hand through my blonde hair.
I rest the side of my face into her palm, closing my eyes.
At least i know s-she's here for me..
"Please don't stress out.. I don't want you passing out like I did." She says with a laugh as I chuckle, clearing my throat.
"I'm not as weak as you.." I say with a small smile as she gasps, hitting me.
"I shouldn't have come!" She says in a huff, getting up from the bale as I laugh, reaching out to grab her hands before she walks out, pulling her down so she lands on me.
I stroke her cheek, gazing into her beautiful eyes when I whisper.
"Thank you for coming. I didn't want to wake you up because.. I didn't want you to see me lose."
"What kind of mindset is that?" She whines, hitting me again.
"You're right, I don't want to see you lose. Win for me.. win for him."
My mood softens at her words as I bury my face in the crook of her neck, placing tiny kisses on her soft skin as she giggles.
"I love you, now I have to go." I say, getting up from the hay and patting Firefly.
"Fighting!" She jumps with a fist in the air as I giggle.
"T-thank you.. now go!"
I pat her butt as she skips out of the stables, her ponytail flying from one side to the other as she hops away.
The moment she leaves, the heavy milestone tugs on my heart once more, pulling my mood along with it. Beads of sweat surface on my forehead, trickling down the side of my face as I guide Firefly out of the stables, into the roaring stadium.
This is it..
I only wish he was here to see it.
A/N: Sorry guys! I know this was a short chapter but dw, the next one will be better. I have an exam coming up tomorrow and so I kind of neglected this. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
