Flowers.
An infinite field of flowers.

" Y/N! "
" E-Eomma?! "

I ran through the flowers towards her and she did the same.
We collided with a tight embrace around each other.
Eomma kissed my cheeks and tears flowed down her cheeks.

" I love you Y/N.. I'm sorry I have to leave so soon.. "
I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.
" Wh- "
She started sinking.
" Eomma!! What's happening?! "
I screamed and looked down at my hands.

Blood. They were dripping with blood even though I had no cuts.

I stood there helpless as the sandy floor below me consumed Eomma and all I could do was scream and cry.

I lunged myself forward and tried to grab her, but my hands went right through her. It was like an illusion but she was there, screaming and telling me that she loved me.

I watched as her face sank below the soil and only her hand extended upwards remained.

I jolted up straight in the soft bed.
My breathing was heavy and I was sweating profusely.

" I-its only a nightmare Y/N " I whispered to myself.

I was afraid to fall back into that horrid place of slumber, only to be haunted by the same hideous dream.

Tears fell down my face as I stared out my window.

I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked closer and that's when I saw stables. My eyes widened and I immediately jumped out of bed. I looked at the time..
3:28 a.m
I didn't care. I need Night more than ever. The sound of his easily distinguishable neighs echoed in my head as I slowly opened the door.
I looked down both ends of the hallway and there was not a soul to be seen.

As I tiptoed down the hallway, I crossed by a long mirror. I looked at myself and realized I was still wearing my pyjamas.

I contemplated on whether I should change or not.

I don't need to. I've rode Night in my pyjamas millions of times on sleepless nights.

I made it to the front door and slowly turned the knob, hoping it wasn't locked. The door opened and I sighed in relief. I walked to the back of the house and down the grassy pathway.

I used my phone's flashlight since the sun wasn't up yet. As I neared the stables, I saw little lanterns at every post and it brightened the place immensely and gave it a warm, cozy look.

I turned off my flashlight and entered the stables. Not wanting to disturb any of the horses, I peep into each compartment quietly, hoping to see my black diamond.

Some of the horses here were extremely fancy and looked like they costed a lot. There were little black boards hung outside each door of the compartment with the horses name written in chalk.

I smiled as I walked and read each name..
Snow, Junior, Dash, Bob, Sarge-
I stopped in my tracks as I saw the one name I've been dying to see..
Night.
I peep into the compartment and my eyes fill with tears. There he was, my everything..

I slowly opened the compartment door and I heard his grunt.
How I missed that little noise.
I went up to him and stroked his forehead.
" Hey boy.. did you miss me? " I whispered and he nudged his head towards me and I stumbled backwards.
I giggle and say, " I missed you too. "

My eyes widen at a thought and I look outside. The sun hadn't risen yet; it was partially bright but not bright enough for anyone to notice me.
" Wanna go for a ride buddy? "
He grunted and I led him outside to the large field.
" Well.. this isn't like home, but let's get used to it for now.. "
I lift myself off the ground and onto his bare back. I stroke his mane all the way down to his belly.
The feeling of his velvety fur on my fingers made me feel nostalgic.. I had never been away from him for so long..

As he slowly trod towards the field, the image of Eomma sinking flashed in my head. I squeeze my eyes tight and cover my face as my breathing gets heavier. I couldn't get the picture of my bloody hands and her screaming out of my head.

I was snapped back into reality by Night's neigh. He must have sensed something wrong with me.
" I-im fine boy.. let's go. "
I pushed the horrid images out of my head as I breathed in the air. It smelled so different compared to Busan..
Busan was clear and earthy.. this was.. suffocating. It was way better than the central city where I lived, but I wanted home..

I pushed my heel into his side gently and I kissed his back.
" Ride like the wind Bullseye!! "
I laugh and he takes off.
I missed this feeling...
I smiled and spread my arms out as the air blew against me. My hair was flying everywhere and I'm pretty sure I would look demented when this ride is over.

" WOOHOOOOO!!!!! " I yell, knowing that the house was quite far away for anyone to hear me now. This field was huge. Night slows down near a stream and bends to drink it.

I pat his back and say, " Does it taste good? "
I get off him and crouch down near the stream and cup my hands in the water. It was icy cold. I brought it up to my mouth and sucked the water.
I look back to see Night staring at me.
" What? "
He grunts and goes back to drinking the water.
" Yah!! I'm not an expert ok! Look I'll try. "
I get down on all fours and bend my head towards the water.

" Y/N? "
I startle from the voice and immediately sit up straight.
My eyes widen at the person dying to control his laughter.
" JIMIN-AHHH!!!! " I whine and he bursts out in laughter.
" Stop laughing !!! "
He falls to his knees and wraps his hands around himself and continues laughing. " C-can you s-see yourself right now?! " He says in between laughs and falls to the floor.

I glare at him but couldn't help but agree with him..
So damn embarrassing.
I cup my hands in the icy water and throw it in his face. He stops laughing and glares at me. Now it was my turn to laugh at his face while the icy water seeps down his neck and into his clothes.
" Who's laughing now?! " I say.
He gets up and runs towards the stream. My eyes widen as I know what he's gonna do. I jump on Night and yell,
" RUN NIGHT RUN!!! "

He starts galloping and I turn back to see Jimin on another horse. I laugh at his wet face and he yells from behind,
"YOU CAN'T RUN FOREVER KIM Y/N!!!"
I laugh and yell back,
" CATCH ME IF YOU CAAANNN!!! YOU'RE LUCKY YOUR ON THAT HORSE AND NOT ON THOSE TEENY LEGS!! "
His eyes widen and jaw drops. I laugh harder and he yells,
" OH YOU'RE GONNA GET IT!!! "
He grips the reins on the horse and pulls it, and the horse rode faster.

I have never ridden Night with a saddle before so I bend down and say,
" Let's go boy!! Faster !! "
Night increases his speed and I see a 3 foot fence. (I just threw that number in there 😂 plz don't mind it)
Night begins to slow down but I yell,
" We can do it boy!!! It's just a little fence!! "
He picks his speed back up and let me tell you, he's never ridden that fast before. My mouth was flying everywhere (if you get what I mean 😂😂) and adrenaline pumped through me as the fence drew nearer.

I had completely forgotten about jimin as the only thing I was focusing on was clearing that fence.
It's quite tall, I don't know if he can make it.. I don't want him to get hurt.
I lean down towards his ears and yell,
" Maybe we shouldn't do it boy!! I don't want you getting hurt!! "
Nevertheless, he continues and my heart skips a beat as Night leaps through the air, jumping over the fence with ease.

(I couldn't find a black horse so please imagine this as one )

He landed with a thud and he slowed down. I was panting after the thrilling ride and I jumped off him.

" Oh my god you did it!!! " I bounced and hugged Night. Seconds later, I heard galloping behind me and I saw Jimin waiting on the other side of the fence.
I cup my hands around my mouth and yell, " Come over !! "
He yells back and says, " Bob can't make the jump !!! "
I sigh and say,
" Come on buddy, we have to go back. We need a drink. "
Night grunts and I laugh.

We reach Jimin and he says,
" How did you do that? "
" I don't know... I just went for it.. "
" That was amazing Y/N.. Even your posture was perfect! "
I blush and say,
" I-i don't know, I've never done that before.. " I pet Night and kiss his muzzle.
Jimin's eyes open wide and he says,
" How dare you cheat on me?! "
I laugh and climb on the fence and give him a peck.
Jimin gags and says,
" OH MY GOD I TASTED YOUR HORSE"
I burst out laughing and Night grunts and hooves the ground.
" Night is offended! "
" Are you not worried about your boyfriend? "
I smile and say,
" Nope. "

He puts his hand on his heart and I lean forward to kiss him again but he puts a finger on my lips.
" No. No kisses for you. You've been a bad girl.... And I do not want to taste your horse again. "
I burst out laughing and say,
" How do we get back on the other side? "
" Just jump over again. "
I look at Night and say,
" No, he's too tired. "
" Ok, there's a gate down the fence. You can get in from there. "

I turn to Night and pat him and say,
" You heard him buddy, let's go. "
He grunts and follows us.
" Woah. How did he understand you?"
" Well... I don't really know.. I've looked it up on the internet and it says that when you have a really strong bond with your horse, it's able to understand and sense your feelings. "
" That's so cool.. so you two must be pretty close. "
" Yea, I was with him ever since he was born. "
" That explains it. "
" Yea.. I love him with all my heart. "

Jimin glares at me from the other side and I laugh and kiss Night on his side.
" Are you testing me? "
" Maybe "
" Just you wait till you get on the other side. "
Night grunts and leans over to the side where Jimin is and pulls at his hair.
Both our eyes widen and I burst out laughing. Jimin's eyes were still wide staring at Night with his mouth open.
" So you're trying to steal my girl huh?"
I facepalm myself and tell Night,
" Don't worry, he can't do anything to you buddy. "
We continue walking as we leave Jimin with his jaw hanging open on his horse.

A/N : Another fun chapter for you guys!! Sorry if it's boring! And I'm so so soooo sorry for the late update. I found out that I have a fricking MATH test tomorrow 😭😭 wish me luck 💖
