Edward was always a strange boy.

Ever since he was born, ever since he got his basic magic, ever since his debut...

Especially ever since his debut... or at least before, just right before.

Dark magic swirled him when he was 6. It surprised him. Especially to those who saw.

His parents. Subordinates. A few nobility. Some children.

It was lucky, his parents said, that he shown it before. To hide it and made not to look like a freak.

But it was especially since then that he became more unwanted. He was beaten down by his parents and heckled by the very few people who witnessed and was paid to keep quiet.

Royalty were never supposed to get dark magic, except demons.

But how was he supposed to know?

One day, someone took it too far.

"You are really pathetic, you know?" A boy the same age yet looked down on him. One of those who witnessed his powers.

Ignore him, Edward thought. Just ignore him.

"Not only that, you are also abnormal, undeserving to be royalty!"

That's what they all say...

"In fact, I deserve to be royalty, not you. The King should have dumped your whore of a mother and married mine!

That should hurt but Edward felt nothing. In fact, he heard this too many times. After all, all Kings have concubines and some even birth bastard children. This would obviously happen.

"In fact..." A knife was at his neck before anything could happen, "I should kill you here and now." He smiled menacingly.

This was a first but still he felt nothing. He affected calm and said matter of factly, "If you kill me, won't they suspect you?"

"Ha!" The boy laughed, "There are a tons of suspects before me, even your parents! And in the end, will anyone care about your wellbeing?"

"Help! Help!" Edward screamed, he just wanted the guards to come and end this madness.

The boy almost sliced Edward's throat when the guards came but Edward was quick to slam on the boy's body, the knife in his hand and the guards approaching them. The boy lunged, another knife in hand but Edward was quick and stabbed his hand.

A scream of pain tore at his throat of the boy and Edward couldn't help but smile. To give pain to someone who had given him pain. You think all that heckling wouldn't give some pain?

Before he could inflict anymore pain, the guards apprehended the boy. He was jailed and Edward was cleared of self defense.

However, ever since that day, he revenged himself against those who made fun of him except his parents, of course. Only people who deserved the pain after they inflicted pain.

Whispers and rumours about him as the dubbed thee DDoom a.k.a Dark Doom for all the terrible things he did to those he felt rightfully deserve it. They called him sadistic, a psychopath but at least he was a righteous sadistic psychopath.

He met Suza a few months after his debut. She was nice enough but like every other girl who wanted to curry favor with him. Who didn't really see him.

He started disliking her after she always bitched other people who never deserved it just for being with him.

It was always the same routine:

With a friend, she would butt at him and steer him away.

With an acquaintance, she would butt at him and steer him away.

Especially a girl, the same thing except she exacted some revenge along with her friends or minions where the girl ends up in pain.

Especially with...

He just met her two weeks ago. She was unlike a girl he known and was a magnet for people who just came to her despite that scar on her face.

Despite having it, she was still liked. That was weird, a lot of people would have loathed a scar like that and hid it but she didn't.

He was staring at her, he knew it and he went up to her after her friends left her.

"Edward Luis," He said as a form of introduction, "May I have this dance?"

She looked at him and simply accepted. He was thrilled to dance with her, so unlike other girls who would make any moves on him, she simply focused on the dance.

He asked for her name. Aurora Fate.

Aurora, a beautiful name. And he knew who he was yet wasn't impressed by it. Strange for nobility like her but he liked it.

Then, Suza had to barged in. Why was she like that? It was always annoying and now even more so...

"Why did you have to do that?" Edward asked in annoyance.

Suza affected an innocent face, like that's believable.

"I just want to teach her about etiquette," she said.

Like anyone will believe that.

The strange thing was that Aurora made no fuss unlike other noble girls and didn't even need Suza's glare to silence her.

She just upped and went with another boy. For some reason, he felt a twang in his heart for that. Jealousy? Who knew? He was supposed to be the emotionless one, so they say.

He looked at Aurora who was now dancing with that boy, wait, demon. She preferred a demon over him. Something flared in him.

"Are you OK?" Suza asked. He was bumped back to Earth, back to the pretty but hypocritical Suza.

"Yeah, fine," Edward said. He didn't waste anymore breath other than that for her.

One day... maybe she will get her comeuppance and he will be the one to do that. Yes, he would and a smile came easily up on his face...

Four score and two weeks later, he met Aurora in the forest after she was late for the meeting. His curiosity of her got the best of him and he tried to find her before anyone else gave consent.

He started to like Aurora more and more, as he knew her and the few short conversations they had, whatever they did together during those meetings were a small thrill that torture couldn't bring out.

When he met her at the forest, she screamed like it was a wild creature, attacked Edward and ran.

When she got a closer look, it must be fear, who knows what but she attacked him again. The stomach hurt a lot but he smiled a bit. Aurora had spunk.

He liked that.

When she made her explanations, he nodded. It was believable.

When she wanted to go, he thought, 'Not yet.'

And pushed her to a tree. Her brother might not approve but he wasn't there.

He looked at her greedily. He just wanted to feel her for once, to know her better. Who still stayed and talk to him despite Suza's interference and treating him like he was Edward, not a prince, not another person. Just as Edward. The one who like him had a scar although physical that she didn't even let it down... unlike him.

When she touched his face, his heart skipped a beat. This girl really brought forth new emotions and new hopes.

It dawned to him there and then.

He was in love with her.

Then it all started going downhill from there.

All the things she said and did did not tally with the person he thought she was. She thought that he was just a toy among toys. A toy!

However, he sensed the fear in her as she said all those things although she probably meant them. Why fear? Did she know?!

About what he did in the shadows? His powers?

How did she know?

Or maybe he was paranoid. But one fact sunk in: she didn't love him. She was probably a slut and a whore but when she was done insulting him, she crouched down and said sorry for everything, saying she didn't really mean it.

Hmm? Maybe not a slut and a whore but she still didn't love him.

Somehow, he felt the love seeping out of him for her. In the end, she was no different than the other girls, after all, lost the unique charm that she had that made him love her.

Didn't care about him for what he was, didn't love him and only hung out with him to gain favour most probably with what she said.

But why the fear when she said all those things? Did she really meant what she said? Is it because she was actually scared of him that she said all those things?

His thoughts spiralled out and then he heard a dreaded sound: Ed-sama!

Suza.

After that, Aurora disappeared and he was left to deal with Suza but she wasn't her usual self, not really, not this time.

She even told her past, somewhat like his that made her what she was today.

When he realised that everything she done was a facade to stay with him, he couldn't help but fall for that.

He disliked Suza's actions but he realised that he didn't see Suza for herself like how he thought no one saw him for himself.

He was ashamed of himself. Maybe they should try again. Share their scars, be closer, love each other...

When he kissed her, he realised what a wonderful girl he was missing. His love for Aurora was washed away completely as simple as that although he didn't completely hate her for one reason.

For he realised she was scared of something, all of that might be a facade and her refusal to love him might be connected to the fear.

He wondered what was the fear and why was it related to him? Could it be because of Suza or...

Curiosity isn't a sin, neither knowledge but together they can stir something more catastrophic than some sins...

'Argh!' I thought inside my head. Yep, back to yours truly, Ro's POV.

While reading a book, I was really trying to read that little thing of Edward's POV to see whether I truly have him off his back and put myself to a normal route where Suza and Edward can have their rightful, hellish relationship.

But no! The author censored the whole thing from my eyes! What the f-?!

It was really frustrating but as I rode back home with Clover, I thought of what I knew in the meeting.

Edward and Suza have definitely became closer and everyone seemed to notice. When asked, they said they were starting over, knowing each other better.

That was good but I couldn't also help notice that Edward was always staring at me and along with Suza whose eyes still narrowed at me.

Did he hate me? I really don't want a bad ending!

Why does Suza hate me now? Didn't they kiss and make up?

A shock went through to me as I managed to divine some part of Edward's POV.

<You can't do that! I censored it from you for a reason!>

In any case, I didn't think that he loved me anymore but he didn't necessarily hate me either.

But he was curious about me.

Sigh... this isn't going to end well.
