I'm back in the Mindscape. I looked at the mirror and the scar was pretty bad.

I checked my lvl. It became lvl 100D. This, I believe is from that experience which bumped my level big time. Mostly out of adrenaline, I believe.

Like, when a dude levelled up infinity, it was due to simple adrenaline from an unknown event but of course, it was temporary because God would not allow someone to be powerful permanently. That is as impossible as becoming immortal.

Though, people who level up in the 1000 range by adrenaline are pretty much permanent, so I gained something.

Don't mistake me. I am still angry at the author for hurling me in an event without my knowing!

There was utter blackness before I realized it was just my eyes closed. I have entered back to reality.

Darn you, author!

Now, it was a matter of waking up and assessing the situation.

My eyes opened unwillingly to faded light from a dimmed light bulb. A doctor was standing over me with my family, Alex, Elly and the red haired girl in my party that I was interested in.

"What's going on?" I asked, surprised by the amount of people anyway.

Clover explained, "You were attacked by a group of bandits, sis, and were in danger. Me and Riana here," he indicated to the red haired girl, "ran after you while the rest of us were in shock and helped you escape while you were unconscious."

The red haired girl, Riana piped up, "Yeah, but you were doing fine without us. Beating those bandits with your magic! It was unbelievable. But anyway, afterwards, we brought you back home, put you into your room while your parents summoned a doctor and these two," she indicated to Alex and Elly, "wished to see how you were. So that's why we are all here."

All of that was slowly processed into my brain. It took a moment for it all to clink and say, "OK. Thanks for helping me, Riana-san."

"Your welcome, Aurora-chan," Riana said, but for some reason she was looking at me shrewdly. Better keep my guard up...

Alex and Elly were looking at me with concern and I said, "I'm fine, really, don't worry."

"Yes, you actually are," the doctor said and with a jolt, I just realized he was there.

"You are lucky to be alive. It's not easy for a... once-magicless person to fend off bandits, even if they did gain magic in that situation. Unfortunately, you'll have that scar for a while."

He was talking about the scar I got and my parents, mostly mother, was acting like it was as horrible a news as someone's death while everyone else gave me near pitiable looks, except Riana, who just looked blank and confused.

I knew exactly what he meant. This happened in one of the reincarnation books I read. The woes of reincarnating into a medieval yet modern world.

"Oh, but it will be gone, right?" I asked. I'm not really worried. In fact, I don't care. In this world, any scar on any face is considered immediately as ugly and will not be married. As I said, like I care. In fact, this is a good thing because people will avoid me and I'm free from acting perfect. Thank God!

The doctor, meanwhile, looked solemn, "Yes, it well but it'll be there for years and years. The certain date it will fade is unknown."

Clover piped up, "Don't worry, Ro, even if you do have the scar, you have magic!"

I looked at Clover and gave a small smile, "Thanks, Clover."

Is it just me or Riana's expression looks less shrewd and a bit sad?

Hmm...

I'm not dense, I think, so I can say that Riana is a very good candidate for reincarnation.

Dad was saying something. I didn't catch most of it but I heard, "-test your magic and weaponry again."

"Wait, right now?!" I shouted. How fast the circumstances are changing! Now I have to ponder this very important question...

What the heck do I do with my life?!

With having magic powers for the whole public as my witness in any moment, it will set this whole life and I still don't know what world I reincarnated into!

Now, Dad have that magi ball and weaponry ball with news people in tow.

"Wait, news people?!" I said that out loud. TV has still not been invented, so there are just two guys with a camera and one with his pen at the ready.

"Of course, Ro, dear, this must be made public. It's the number one rule of society. For everyone to know your full powers during a debut and technically your debut is not over because it was cancelled shortly before due to... technicalities but if not them, the debut would still be going on and should be treated such..." Dad explained.

I'll not be labelled as a prodigy. I'm going to conceal my real powers and give the fake ones. They won't notice. In fact, my aura is very diminished, probably from the past events, so right now the only way to tell my true power is via magi ball.

"Lvl 63F!" Dad declared when I touched the ball, "Ice and lightning!"

It was easier to pretend that I've the same powers as Clover and put a level in the range most expected of my age.

"Congratulations, Ro! You finally have magic powers. Come to me if you want any tips," Clover being Clover said.

Alex and Elly clapped, so as Riana who just smiled.

The reporters have captured this moment. It will make tomorrow's news and revealed that I'm no longer magicless but have a scar on my face.

It's been 6 months, 120 parties and nearly 200 training sessions. To say that I'm exhausted is the understatement of the century!

As soon as word got out that I've magic, people were happy for my Dad about this miracle and used it to get into his good books. Master Mason insisted I train everyday to hone my magic skills and Mom was still fairly unhappy about my scar and tried to cover it up the best she can with the help of her maids.

Of course, thanks to the stupid scar, Mom insists that I wear a mask so people won't see whenever we go to parties. Unfortunately, this has sprouted a lot of stupid rumors that my face was so disfigured that I was so ugly. This gave to plenty of curiosity and insistence that I take off my mask. Whenever I refused, everyone assumed my face was disfigured.

Hurt and tired of that, I took off my mask to everyone's shock and they saw the scar. Whispers carried through but I wasn't very ugly for people to avoid. Girls flocked at me and tittered hoping that being with me will do something to their status while boys tried to make a few moves but of course, never courted me due to my scar.

Seriously, this world is kind of messed up...

Elly and I remained fast friends and always send letters to each other, sometimes visited each other and explored around the kingdoms ourselves as in our age, we have the right. Obviously, we can't go very far but it was nice to explore around Kingdom Articuno, Zapdos and their neighbouring kingdoms which we passed through during visits.

One day, in a forest between Zygarde and Zapdos, we were fooling around, admiring the plants and animals when suddenly an animal attacked us. Stupidly, we didn't bring any weapons and used our magic best we can to stop it but although it was weakened, it still advanced on us.

Just when hope was lost, a figure came to our rescue with a mace in hand and killed the monster in a few blows. She tore some of it's skin for who knows what and looked at us.

I was surprised to see it was a girl my age and her magic a bit weaker than mine and Elly's, but able to defeat the beast. I wondered how, but as if answering my unasked question, the girl spoke.

"You are lucky to be alive," she shook her head, "Next time, bring a weapon and a bottle of poison. No matter how strong the beast is, poison works the best way on these beasts."

"Why did you kill it? Other than saving us, you could have just knocked it unconscious," I said.

The girl just shook her head, "I'm a part of a guild in Zygarde and in one of the quests, that monster was to be killed as it was terrorizing towns around this forest. I took the quest and will be bringing in this skin as proof."

"How can they let you join a guild? You are too young!" Elly spoke for the first time after that monster attack.

"You sound like the grown-ups," the girl said, "My Dad is the guild master so I tried my best to be a useful part in it to prove my worth."

"You are doing a great job, then. We can't thank you enough for saving us! What's your name, anyway?" I asked.

"Fiona Ky. You?" The girl, Fiona, asked.

"Aurora Fate," I said.

"Elsie Coven," Elly said.

"Well, if you have time, do you want to hang around? It's mighty lonely being the only one my age in the guild." Fiona said.

"Sure, why not now?" I said.

"Sweet!" Fiona beamed, "Follow me!"

So, that day continued to be spectacular spending around Fiona's guild and learning plenty of things I didn't know before and knowing more about each others and going home before curfew, saying goodbye to Fiona and asking to keep in touch. Another friend had been made, so unlike those tittering girls.

A month or two after that, another friend was made in a party. Clover's friend, Riana, was having a birthday party of being 7 and invited my family along with Elly's.

We were having fun there amidst vain girls and charming boys looking for the perfect girl when I bumped into a girl with an astonishing mix of ruby red and topaz blue hair, crisscrossing each other. The food on my plate had fallen onto the girl's purple dress.

"I'm so sorry!" I said, bent with a napkin to clean with. For some reason, everyone was laughing.

The girl stopped me and smiled shyly at me, "It's OK," she said and she used her water powers to clean her dress and fire powers to dry it.

I remarked at that unusual combination, "Water and fire. That's a pretty unusual combination."

"Yes, it is," she said, "A lot of people laughed at it because they think it's so unusual."

"So," Elly piped up, "Who cares about unusual? It's amazing, that!"

"Thanks," she said, once again, shyly, "I'm Selena Test."

"Aurora Fate," I said.

"Elsie Coven," she said.

And during the whole party, we hung out with each other and ended up liking each other's company. Thank God that this world doesn't have a lot of spoiled nobles.

At that point forth, Selena Test became our friend and sooner became Fiona's friend during an outing together to meet her. We became good friends who write to each other, hang out, go on a few minor adventures, helping out Fiona to increase our level although refusing outright to join the guild because of nobility and hanging out in parties minus Fiona because she's a commoner.

Umm... Why did I say all that?

About Alex, we just sent each other notes but unfortunately never met except for a few parties here and there. He never visited and I never visited him. The sole reason, I am sure, is that he's a demon. My family, somehow disapproved of the relationship, mostly Dad and Clover.

Hey, it's not like I'm gonna marry that guy! I'm still 6!

Though, now I think of it, Dad and Clover always looked scornfully at any boy who tries anything with me and sometimes see slight relief in their faces when I rejected any moves on me. Maybe, Dad and Clover are disapproving of my relationship with Alex, not because he's a demon, but a boy.

As for Riana and that blue haired girl who, after another party in my debut, I found out that she's the princess of Kingdom Kyogre, Alyssa Wyvern, they are really different from all those other girls. My friends are unique as well, don't get me wrong, but they don't attract a lot of boy attention, are too mature for their age or hold themselves too differently for their age. No one can tell I'm reincarnated, however, because I act as normal as possible, as to not trigger any drama events.

Most girls my age act cute, spoiled, shy and because it's a man eats man world here at times, a bit manipulative to gain favor as thought by parents but Riana is more cool and cold, uncaring for attention while Alyssa acted too responsible and didn't care for other's company. Not in a shy way, but like I-don't-need-you way. Which is all to strange because in this world, all girls do is mingle around or be totally shy and looked at others with a sad stare.

So, Alyssa and Riana might be good candidates of reincarnation but I can't go to them and asked straight up, "Are you reincarnated too?". If they are not, they will look at me and crazy and my rep will be totally ruined, which for my sake, don't want ruined.

Now, 6 months off, and with those events later, I've a happy life with my friends and increased level good. My staff has turned to an ice staff and if parted into two, became lightning whips, became a good asset during those training sessions. My level has increased that I'm not exactly a prodigy but still good enough.

I've also joined lessons with Clover on a few subjects for education purpose and I learned quite well for my age, mostly thanks to the fact of experience and reading, but Clover is better than me and he knows it.

So, now, step 1 has been done. I'm not a prodigy and I live a normal enough life for a noble. Outgoings are not wrong and in fact encouraged. My friends are good people and although Riana and Alyssa might be reincarnated, what has that got to do with me?

But... there can be a lot of bad endings not of my before world that I rather avoid.

So... using my teen knowledge before, I asked: What would I do if I reincarnated?

Well, channeling my teen self, I would say act like the others so not to be unique and not trigger events and if anything goes wrong, find an escape route. Like in games, when you take a wrong turn, you exit.

So, how do you exit if it goes wrong?

At that moment, I was in my room thrumming my guitar when an idea finally struck me.

I immediately went to the library and took out one of the legends book. A lot of people may say it does not exist but after having your own reincarnation, anything is possible now.

Ah, right here!

I found the page I most desired. It says of the legend of 10 mystical diamonds representing 10 different elements: water, earth, fire, lightning, nature, ice, air, light, dark and psychic. According to legend, there were 10 mages who lived under God's rule and with each unique element, ruled the world in peace and prosperity until the Demon King in Hell craved the powers of these mages and trapped them in 10 different diamonds to be used by him to conquer God and be supreme overlord. However, God denied him that wish in a battle before the Demon King could use those diamonds. The diamonds scattered all over the world and God Himself would have found them if the Demon King did not confine God in Heaven unable to do anything but watch the lives of the people below.

To this day, the diamonds were never found and they became the stuff of legend. Many people tried to find but failed and dismissed it as a fable. They were given the name Arceus Diamonds for Arceus was the God who raised those 10 mages that were trapped in the diamonds and bestow power worthy of Him.

Anyway, legend says that these diamonds have the power to give the user powers to do absolutely anything, even conquer Death!

Or maybe travel into another world?

When I was a teen, I wanted to go to Reverse Falls and meet Reverse Dipper, then Kaitou Joker to meet Phoenix and Joker, then Lab Rats to meet Chase and Adam, Sonic to meet Shadow the Hedgehog and finally Detective Conan to meet Kaitou Kid.

If that legend is correct, I could gather the diamonds, wished upon myself to travel through universes and have my dreams come true!

But where do I start?

10 diamonds. 10 powers. Hmm...

No one believes in the legend, right? So they could own it without knowing it's true power.

According to this book, each diamond has it own unique attributes and are immensely powerful.

So, build a power detector. An object with the most power would be one of the diamonds. I can start building one of those in the Mindscape!

But how do I get it? If it is owned by someone, surely they would guard it with their life. It's not like they would willingly hand it in... Hmm...
