Echoes Of Long Ago

Fallen Sans trotted down the corridors of the castle towards the throne room. He had some news for Queen CassieRose, that Leader Napstablook was dead. She would be pleased at this. But to be honest, he felt guilty as well. Napstablook was normally a sensitive, shy guy. But he had been forced to fight. Also, both Asgore and Toriel were now dead, as well as Asriel and Frisk.

Frisk...

Oh Frisk... she didn't deserve death. Sans knew that. But he couldn't change the past. He didn't have control over the timeline like Frisk or Asriel. He couldn't RESET, like those kids they were after. Sans had only joined Cassie because she said she could help him find Papyrus. It felt like however that they would never find him. It was frustrating. And now he had to hunt ever more kids! The only name he could remember was Lukas. Mettaton had been going on and on about a 'new talent' he had found. Some girl with ballet shoes. Sans approached the door to the throne room. He opened it.

He got a shock when he realised who the Queen was talking to. "You!" Sans growled. "Hey, Pun Guy!" Chara grinned. "Queen CassieRose! Don't you know who this is?! She tried to kill us by possessing..." Sans remembered he wasn't allowed say her name. "Chara got us here in the first place. It was because of her we got to rid this kingdom of that wretched creature Asgore. You should be thanking her!" Cassie said firmly. Chara just gave Sans a smirk, who glared at her. "M'lady..." he was about to tell about Napstablook, but suddenly that seemed like a bad idea. "Mettaton thinks he found his new talent for your show." he wasn't lying. "Is that all? Then leave. Go find those reincarnation kids. We don't have all century!" Cassie huffed, waving her hand dismissively. Sans walked away. He knew what he had to do. He took off the black hoodie, then grabbed his blue one from his room.

"It's time I set things right." his right eye flashed slightly as he left the castle.

Jodie watched the others walk through the fields, listening to the flowers. She hoped that they wouldn't hear her. She remembered what had happened when she first fell in with her family.

Flashback
Jodie screamed as the monster came nearer. The body of Jodie's mother lay still. The monster laughed. "More little brats to teach a lesson! This will be fun!" they laughed. Jodie sobbed. "Please! I'm only seven!" she cried, tears pouring down her cheeks. "I don't want to die!" she added. "Well, I'm afraid we don't always get what we want!" the monster prepared an attack. Jodie braced for the blow. She couldn't see the monster properly due to fear.

But then there was the sound of fighting. Jodie looked up to see another human. The monster was gone. The human turned to her. "Are you alright?" they asked. Jodie nodded. The human helped her up. "What's your name?" they asked, smiling kindly. "I'm Jodie! Who are you?" the child asked. "Before I tell you my name, I need you to do me a favour..." the human took Jodie's hand. "Sure! I'm sure I can do it!" Jodie nodded eagerly. But the grip on her tightened. There was a flash and the stranger's eyes were red. "Kill everything." Chara cackled before jumping inside Jodie.
Flashback over

Jodie shuddered. Chara had gotten to her before. And she played a part in the Underground's invasion. If the others find out what Jodie did, then they would probably hate her. She wanted to bring Chara and CassieRose to justice. It wouldn't be easy, but she had to try. But then her eyes widened. Lukas was listening to a flower, frowning.

"You little genocidal punk!"

"You're always too cocky, Undyne!"

"So are you. You won't win this and erase the world!"

"I don't want to erase."

"Wait, what?!"

Lukas could have sworn that he heard the second person's voice before. "Is it...?" he thought in his head. Just then Jodie rugby-tackled him, landing on his chest. "Ow! What was that for?!" but then Lukas stared into a pair of sparkling emerald eyes. "Just... I want a turn..." Jodie said awkwardly. Aiden saw and fanboyed. "Hey Lukas! Nice girlfriend!" Jesse laughed. "Stop it losers!" Jodie got off Lukas. He gave her a look. "Jodie, come with me..." he took her hand. Jodie tried to glare, but he looked serious so stayed quiet. He led her someplace private.

"Tell me the truth. Why did you push me? And who was that person in the recording?" he interrogated. Jodie found herself becoming nervous. She couldn't look him in the blue eyes. "I... I..." she stuttered. Lukas' expression then became softer, more caring and concerned. "I care about you, Jodie. If it's a personal problem, then I can figure it out." he assured. Jodie sighed.

"The truth is, Chara made me go on a genocide run. That was me in the recording." she confessed.

"That's alright." Lukas shrugged.

Jodie shook her head, thinking she misheard. "That's not OK!" she gasped. "It's not. But I can understand it wasn't your fault. Chara is truly evil. I'm just glad that you're not hiding something and keeping it to yourself. I know myself that's never a good thing." Lukas smiled kindly. "Thanks... ya dork!" Jodie laughed and gave him a playful dig in the arm. Lukas laughed too.

Then they heard a scream and yells. Lukas and Jodie ran to see Sans. Except his hoodie was blue this time. "Stay away!" Petra pointed her tough glove, but of course she wasn't going to use it being a pacifist. Sans put his hands up in surrender. "I don't want to cause trouble!" he insisted. "Then what are you here for?" Axel enquuired, burnt pan at the ready. Sans walked forward cautiously. He tried to show he wasn't a threat.

"I know how to stop Qu- er, Cassie." he offered.
